Mahindra XUV 3XO EV expert overview
Overview
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV has been launched at Rs 13.89 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). With only two variants on offer, the latest electric Mahindra SUV packs everything that the top-spec ICE-powered XUV 3XO does, but in an electric form with more performance and refinement.
With heavy competition from the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the bigger MG Windsor EV, the XUV 3XO EV has its work cut out. Can it do anything differently? Let’s find out.
Exterior
Just like most electric vehicles that have a fuel-powered alternative, the XUV 3XO EV’s design isn’t a big departure from the original. In fact, the changes here are so miniscule that even the current XUV 3XO owners might not be able to tell the difference. We already deciphered the design in detail, but here's a quick roundown of it:

The nose is almost identical to the ICE-powered 3XO with a similar closed off grille panel which connected the two headlights, but the slats on the grille sport a copper finish. The sharp LED headlights and C-shaped DRLs look stylish. The only difference is on the air dam lower in the bumper which had horizontal openings in the ICE-version, but has been closed off here for the most part.
There is absolutely no visual change in profile. It has an orthodox SUV look with muscular shoulders at the rear which flare aggressively over the cladded wheel arch. It sits on 17-inch dual-tone alloys which look snazzy, but the cuts on top of the wheel arch still seem awkward.

The similarities at the rear continue with the same LED connected tail light and bumper design. The EV badge sits on the left while the variant badge takes the right side. Just like the front, the logo, badges and the bumper inserts get a copper finish.
The 2026 Mahindra XUV 3XO can be had in six different shades: Everest White, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Deep Forest, Tango Red, and Galaxy Grey. Check them out in our detailed XUV 3XO colours image gallery.
Interior
The copy-paste treatment continues on the inside with an interior lifted straight from the ICE-powered 3XO. Just like the exterior, the form is the same, just with copper inserts all around. The overall design is simple, traditional, and unlike other cars in the segment, not dominated by a huge screen in the centre.

The dual tone theme looks nice, especially with the copper stitching and inserts, but the central console looks a bit dated. You get leatherette on the top half of the dashboard, door trims, seats, steering wheel and gear lever.

Overall, I feel like Mahindra could’ve taken this opportunity to offer a fresher cabin design. The interior of the standard 3XO felt a little behind its time to begin with, and same is the case with its electric version.
Features
Features
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV might not pack flashy features like its bigger born-electric siblings, but everything here is on-par with the segment. Here’s a list of the highlighting features.
| Keyless entry |
Push button start/stop |
| Auto headlamps |
Cruise control |
| Electrically Adjustable & Foldable ORVMs |
Dual-zone Climate Control |
| Panoramic sunroof |
Connected car technology |
| 65 W Type-C charging port |
Auto-dimming IRVM |
| Wireless phone charger |
Rear AC vents |
For entertainment needs, it features a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and AppleCarplay, that’s paired to a 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos. The screen also has in-build Alexa.

The driver has a 10.25-inch digital display which offers multiple layouts and relays all the information related to the drive in a clean manner. Compared to its rivals, if there's anything missing from the 3XO EV's features list, it would be ventilated seats.
Safety
With only two variants on offer, the XUV 3XO EV’s safety kit packs 6 airbags, rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and electronic stability program as standard.

The top-spec variant adds front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor and Level-2 autonomous driving assistance (ADAS) features to the list. The ADAS kit includes lane keep assist, auto emergency braking (vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist), high beam assist, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.
Bharat NCAP had given the ICE-powered 3XO a full five star crash test rating, and we expect the same rating to be achieved by the electric 3XO as well.
Boot Space
The XUV 3XO electric offers a 364-litres of boot space that is the same as its ICE-counterpart (295-litres). We managed to keep one medium suitcase, one small suitcase, and two soft bags in the ICE-powered 3XO.
Performance
The electric XUV 3XO only comes with a single 39.4 kWh battery pack. Here are what the specifications look like:
| Battery | 39.4 kWh |
| Power | 150 PS |
| Torque | 310 Nm |
| Claimed real-world range | 285 km |
| DC fast-charging capacity | 50 kW |
| 0-100 kmph (claimed) | 8.3 seconds |
These numbers are almost identical to what we’ve seen in the XUV400, and if it is anything to go by, you can expect a smooth and refined driving experience with plenty of performance whenever you need it. The car also comes with three drive modes; Fun, Fast, and Fearless.

Charging times
Mahindra hasn’t revealed the charging times for the 3.3kW and 7.2 kW AC fast chargers. With a 50kW DC fast charger, the battery will go from 0-80% charge in 50 minutes.

The 2026 Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is available in two variants only: AX5 and AX7L.

CarDekho Recommends
-
The base variant of the XUV 3XO is competitively priced and offers everything that you would need from a daily-driven EV with all the basic functional and entertainment features. Pick if you’re on a budget.
-
The top-spec variant offers great value for the price and can be picked if you want a better convenience package with the safety net of ADAS.
Verdict
The 2026 Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is not doing anything extraordinary. It looks the same as the XUV 3XO, packs the same storage options and offers the same set of features and safety package. But for a tiny bump in price, the drive experience is entirely different– one that is more refined, effortless (fun to drive even) and lighter on the wallet. If you can live with the range limitations that come with EVs of this size, or want a small city SUV in the first place, then this is the version of the XUV 3XO to pick.
