Government is planning to implement Green Ratings for Automobiles. According to a government official the government is planning to implement Green Ratings for Automobiles which can measure the energy efficiency of the cars of a particular manufacturer . Car manufacturers are not happy with this decision because according to them they can't give the accurate measurement and they can't guess the driving conditions.

An officer from the Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) said that the changes are done to improve the production rate for vehicles with better fuel economy and providing a fabulous choice to the buyers.

It might be compulsory for auto manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motors and Tata Motors to get the fuel economy of the vehicles till they launch their vehicles in the market. Green Ratings Will be according to the fuel economy of the vehicle. If the consumption of fuel is higher then the stars under the classification system would be lower.

Most of the car makers are declaring the fuel economy of their vehicles. The fuel efficiency will be checked under the standard conditions while actual condition depends on the traffic and congestion on the city roads.
