Hyundai ix25 review

Hyundai India, one of the largest exporter of passenger cars is apparently planning to introduce its entry level SUV model, ix25 in the automobile market. There is still no information form the manufacturer regarding its launch date. However, market sources believe that the vehicle will make its way in to the market in early 2015, which is just a few months away from now. The car maker is currently testing this vehicle on Indian roads. Speculations suggests that this upcoming vehicle shares Elite i20's platform and most of its comfort and safety features. The car maker has taken off the covers over this vehicle at the recently held 2014 auto expo and it is set to launch the vehicle in China in the month of October. However, there is no information regarding its launch in India. According to the details, this vehicle is going to be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The Chinese based model specifications suggest that the vehicle will be available with a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engine options. However, we can expect that India based model could be equipped with a 1.4-litre VTVT petrol and a 1.6-litre VGT diesel engine options. Both these engines are currently under the hood of Hyundai Verna, which are coupled with five speed and 6-speed manual transmission gearbox respectively. This upcoming vehicle will not be qualifying for the compact segment, since its overall length measures about 4270mm.

This might force the company to tune-up these engines for more power output, which will compensate for its body weight. Rumors also suggest that its top end variant will be available with 4WD option. As we can see in the exclusive images, that this yet to be launched vehicle carries forward the latest fluidic sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. It features exterior cosmetics like swept-back headlamps, hexagonal radiator grille, diamond cut alloy wheels and sporty design based bumpers. Its interior design resembles the Santa Fe, which received cosmetic updates a few months ago. Its insides are done up in beige and black color scheme that is further amplified by Blue illumination. The Chinese based model also has some utility based features like front center armrest, a glove box in dashboard, accessory power socket, a multi-functional steering wheel and a digital clock. However, it is too early to speculate about the features of India bound model, as it is currently undergoing test runs. On the other hand, it is expected to get standard safety aspects like engine immobilizer, dual front airbags, 3-point seat belts and side impact protection beams. The car maker will be launching this vehicle in the entry level SUV segment, where it will take on the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme.

The car maker has recently unveiled the concept version of Hyundai ix25 SUV at the China Auto Expo. Its external appearance resembles the newly launched Elite i20 hatch, as it is based on the same platform. The production version is also expected to look similar to its concept model as it is speculated to carry the fluidic design. This upcoming vehicle has a swept back headlight cluster that is powered by LED daytime running lights and projector headlamps. It surrounds a large hexagonal shaped radiator grille with a thick chrome surround and a prominent company's logo affixed in its center. Whats really is new about this vehicle is its distinctly crafted front bumper that is affixed with metallic nudge guard and a black protective cladding. This vehicle has a sleek side profile where it is affixed with trendy cosmetics like chrome based door handles, body colored ORVM caps, along with glossy black A and B pillars. Its wheel arches are further affixed with protective strips, which gives it a dual tone look. These are covered with a set of stylish diamond cut alloy wheels. However, its base variants are expected to get conventional steel wheels featuring full wheel caps. In addition to these, its lower body line is affixed with a metallic cladding, which provides addition protection. Its rear profile is as impressive as its front facade owing to its elegantly crafted taillight cluster that is powered by new brake light pattern. Its windscreen has a concave structure and is accompanied by a spoiler with integrated LED third brake light. Like the front bumper, the rear one too gets a new design and it houses a pair of air vents, which are further affixed with reflectors and chrome strips. However, aspects like these in the production version might vary from those in the concept model. The overall look of this yet to be launched vehicle is very attractive and it could spark a new trend in its segment.
