Verdict
Even with the introduction of the Platinum Etios, the car still isn’t the most modern or feature-loaded option in the segment. However, it is a reliable sedan that offers a superior ride quality and great in cabin comfort too.
It’s also very practical thanks to the accommodating boot and both engine options provide great driveability. Not to forget, safety features such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts come as standard across the range.
It’s a can’t-go-wrong car from a can’t-go-wrong brand and the Etios comes with the promise of a hassle-free ownership experience thanks to Toyota’s bulletproof brand reputation.

Toyota Platinum Etios Variants and Price: It is available in four petrol and diesel variants -- G, GX, V, and VX and GD, GXD, VD, and VXD respectively. The Platinum Etios petrol is priced between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 7.78 lakh while the diesel version is priced from Rs 7.6 lakh to Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Toyota Platinum Etios Engine and Transmission: The Platinum Etios comes with a BS4-compliant 1.4-litre diesel engine(68PS/170Nm) and a BS4-compliant 1.5-litre petrol unit(90PS/132Nm). Both engines come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Toyota Platinum Etios Features: It gets features such as a 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual AC, a digital tachometer, electrically foldable ORVMs, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
