Honda Amaze 2016-2021 expert review
Overview
This is the all-new Honda Amaze Everything from the chassis to the body shell, the interior design, the features, safety equipment and, very importantly, the transmission has been changed. The engines are not all-new but get improvements of their own for improved driveability, fuel efficiency and comfort. Honda says the goal for their R&D Asia Pacific department was to make a ‘one-class-above’ sub-4 metre sedan based on the feedback from both existing owners of the previous-gen sedan as well as potential customers of the all-new one.
Verdict
The exterior design may not appeal to everyone, the interior design, space and equipment on offer certainly will. Couple all this with one of the best ride-and-handling packages on any car in the sub-4 metre sedan segment, the Honda Amaze should feature on top of your list if you are looking to buy one in the near future.

- Comfortable seats front and rear, no issues seating tall passengers behind each other
- Long standard safety equipment list - ABS+EBD, dual airbags, ELR seatbelts, ISOFIX anchor points
- Missing feature list - automatic headlamps, automatic wipers, projector headlamps
- Fit and finish issues, cost cutting is evident
- Rear headroom is at a premium, fixed headrests not comfortable
- Diesel engine is still noisy

Honda Amaze Price: The sub-4m sedan is priced from Rs 6.32 lakh to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Honda Amaze Variants: Honda offers the Amaze in four trims: E, S, V, and VX.
Honda Amaze Engine and Transmission: The Amaze is equipped with two engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol (90PS/110Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel (100PS/200Nm). Both are paired to a standard 5-speed manual transmission, along with the option of a CVT. The diesel CVT, however, produces slightly less power and torque (80PS/160Nm). Honda’s claimed fuel efficiency figures for each engine and gearbox combo are listed below:
