Speaking of the new Safari, at the outset Safari facelift gets Land Rover like honeycomb grille, extended till air dams. Apart from it, things seem to have remained unaltered to the front facia. At the rear, though there are no rear shots, but expect subtle changes to the Safari’s rear profile. On the inside, the dashboard gets all-black treatment with silver accents, a new Zest borrowed three-spoke steering wheel and finally it gets a double-din audio system integrated into the central console. Moreover, the spied vehicle carries dual front airbags hinting towards a top-end variant. But it misses out on the central console analog clock and the reported Harman touch screen unit, maybe Tata must be offering dual front airbags in lower trims.

Reportedly, the Safari facelift is also getting uprated 2.2-liter Dicor VVT turbo diesel. The motor now develops close to 160 PS and a blistering 400 Nm of max twist. The engine will be mated to the same 5-speed manual gearbox, available in 4x2 and 4x4 versions. Expect nominal bump in pricing and it will compete with the new Mahindra Scorpio, updated Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
