Maruti Suzuki’s parent company Suzuki on global front, is planning to bring six all new models by the year 2017. But the question in dark is how many models will make way to India. The Japanese carmaker will bring 2 new cars in each A, B and C segment. Dale Wyatt, Sales and Marketing boss said, “The plan is to introduce two new cars in each of the A, B and C segments over the next three years. One will be a more rational, sensible car, while the other will be something more emotional.”

In UK, the company’s sales have grown from 20,000 units to 37,000 units while in Indian auto sector, the automaker from Oct 2013 to Oct 2014 retailed more than 12 lac units. In India, the automaker sells 14 different models that starts from as low as Rs 2.74 lac to as high as Rs 24 lac.

In India, we already knew about the two newcomers scheduled for the launch in 2015- The next gen Maruti Suzuki Vitara and the Celerio diesel. Apart from these two, the company is also planning to bring the Swift DZire facelift, SX4 Cross, next gen Swift and a new vehicle codenamed YRA, out of which only the next gen Swift is a distant project while the remaining will be made available by the end of 2015 or latest by 2016.

For the UK customers, the automaker will first launch another hatch to sit alongside with Swift. Wyatt refers to it as a car that “will answer all the reasons not to buy a Swift,” which he says is “all about the driver,” thus giving a clear indication for an upcoming Honda Jazz rival. About this new model, Wyatt also mentioned that it will weigh 90kg less than the Swift. The car will be showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March and will be put on sale by early 2016.

Another car on paper is Celerio’s smaller cousin which embraces a more exciting design and is being characterized by Wyat as an "A-segment funky car" that will "create a new segment." It will be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will go on sale sometime in 2016.
