Tata Tiago-The Peppy Lil' Car

Tata Tiago.... a entery level hatchback at a very low price which was launched in early 2016, changed the game with its attractively low price. Tata Tiago 1.05 Revotorq XZ is the model I will Review. I will Divide my review in Design & Build, Engine & Performance, Comfortability & Features, and Conclusion & Cons. First of all, Design & Build: Tata Tiago is a entery level hatchback which has a very dynamic design like the front of the car has the smiling face with a sharp and dynamic design. The front grill is the honeycomb-shaped grill. The build quality is the best among all the Tata Cars and as well as the best design. All the colour options are great but I like the Grey and the Sky Blue of all of them. The interior will surprise you more, it's among the best of all the Tata Hatchback so far.The dashboard also has a honeycomb textured on it. The Air Conditioner vents are highlighted with the body colour. The materials used inside are not of cheap qualities. Rear Seat have good enough under thigh support and outside view through the window is well maintained. Overall it has the best in class build quality. Next, Engine & Performance: The Tata Tiago 1.05 Revotorq XZ is a 1047cc diesel engine. The engine is meant for the everyday driving car. It has enough power to ride you through the city traffic. But on the highway, below 1500 rpm is not good enough. The car has an Eco mode and City mode, sadly no Sports mode. Eco mode made the car lazier, but deliver better fuel efficiency. The company claim mileage of Tata Tiago is 23.8kmpl in the city but it gives around 17-18 on an average. Overall it is a very good car to drive in the City Traffic. Comfortability and Features: The Tiago comes loaded with features and I think one of the best feature packed cars in this class. The First feature is the small TFT B&W screen, though it is not a touch-sensitive colour display, it comes with good enough specs like Map My India, Juke's Music App, Park Assist, etc. The interior is covered with 8 Harmon Speaker System which is one of the USP of the Car. Besides this, the Car comes with a Height adjust the front seat, a Tilted Steering, Active-Return Feature (Steering), A front Disc and rear Drum with ABS in the front. There are almost 22 Storage Space small and big inside the car. 14-inch wheels though a bit smaller look great. Ride Comfort is very good for a car like this. The A/c works well but at a higher speed, it makes some noises which can be avoided. The next 3 variant except the Top End has an optional Safety Package of Rs. 18000/-, but sadly no ABS included in that package. Overall the Ride quality and comfort is well maintained. and have enough feature for a Car like this. Conclusion And Cons. Starting with the Cons, Some of the cons are listed below, which I think could make the Car better, and two of its competitive car who having those features, they are: 1. An Automatic Gear Shift (Celerio has) 2. Rear A/C vents (Grand i10 has) 3. Keyless entry (Both Celerio and Grand i10 has) 4. Anti-Theft Alarm (Celerio has) 5. Electronically folding rear-view mirror (Grand i10 has) 6. After Sales Service by TATA Motors. So, the conclusion is, though it has some demerits or less feature than some of its rivals, but the Tata Tiago is also much cheaper by over Rs. 50,000 than those Cars. So, it is acceptable. For me I like the TATA Tiago, it is a value for money car with enough features packed, well ride comfort & quality with very good mileage. I am giving it 4.2 out of 5 Stars.
