First thing first, the car looks absolutely bonkers. This baby Discovery Sport is the first tangible collaboration between Tata and Jaguar Land Rover. The car sticks very close to its original concept the H5X and a feast to eyes. The blade-like LED headlights with glossy black humanity line grille make it look aggressive at the front end. From the profile perspective, it is the right combination of the original concept, Nexon and Discovery Sport. The gently rising window line, flared wheel arches and blackened D-pillar lends a floating roof effect to the car. The car comes with 17-inch wheels and in fact, if you are lucky enough to find 18-inch wheels of Discovery Sport, it will be a direct fit. Really cool! The rear profile too sticks to the concept with slim and high-set windscreen above the glossy black strip housing two-part LED tail lamps at either end. The car looks muscular and intimidating from every angle and undoubtedly enjoys the needed street presence just like larger SUVs such as Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. The car doesn't get sunroof which many people will see as a disappointment but for some, it is just a fancy feature. The interior is the area where Tata has been struggling the most but this time around, the story is different. The cabin is well laid with simple dashboard design and minimalistic approach. The mock wood does look convincing while the central console housing 8.8-inch touchscreen unit with integrated air controls look cohesive. In short, the quality has been upped by several notches. The safety is rock-solid in this car with features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, traction control, corner stability control, brake fill, rollover mitigation, etc. Tata Harrier is expected to fall in the price range of Rs. 13-18 lakhs which means it will dent sales of every other popular car in the market including Hyundai Creta, XUV500 as well as Jeep Compass. It?s a strong package with right mix of ingredients, looking at all this it seems it will surely make Tata proud not in India but at global level.
