Pros : Comfortable

Cons : TATA's approach, Average Performance, Not a complet car. No dead-pedal. Excessive body-roll

This car is far far behind perfection, as (or much worse than the) other TATAs. The customers who are being targeted in this class expect a gentleman approach from the brand-owners. Tata is yet to cop-up. They omit even the proper PDI before delivering the new cars!   ONLY 2 DAYS… JUST 2 DAYS BACK; I purchased this bullshit from a dealer in Kochi who has been claimed as a TATA subsidiary. I booked the car on 10th Aug, and gave time till 17th to deliver it. But, I got my car ONLY at 9pm. This junk vehicle displayed “ENGINE SYSTEM FAILURE” within 5 minutes of taking it out of their showroom! Whenever it touches 3000rpm, it cuts the fuel-supply for a second and displays this Fault-message.   The odometer was clocked 850kms when the NEW car was delivered!!! They told the music system comes with 6 speakers and one woofer. BUT THE WOOFER IS MISSING!!! The AC vent-knob in the left-mid-pillar is stuck and unable to adjust the throw!! Many more complaints… I’m not mentioning all here. I gave 8 days before taking delivery of my car. What did they do as PDI?   I’M A VICTIM!!! I’M A VICTIM!!!   Now, I need to start my hurdle legally to get my money back and to give this vehicle back to TATA. Or I need to start my marathon to convince the public about this product through Medias, Social Networking sites, and email marketing. Let me see if this issue would be settled in next working day as they have agreed.   This is my 11th car. You would never experience such problem with any other brand. Buying a TATA Car is risky if your money is hard-earned. Chances for TATA and/or their dealers to cheat you without any mercy are very high. I never recommend this product, and I never expected such issue from a company like TATA!   Sajin K. Problem was temporarily settled. But the Engine System Failure message comes very often. I understood that you can't solve it. Most of the owners might be experiencing frustrations with its support and quality, even though the driving is comfortable. The Aria shown in this picture had some problems since 2 months back and I'm fed up with the delay in getting the spare parts. It completed 28000kms and suspension noise, rattling and Engine fault message was the major concerns. One of the high-beam has failed and they told the headlight assembly has to be replaced. I have been waiting for this spare for last one month and still the dealership (claimed to be the Tata-Owned dealership) doesn’t know when this would arrive! Silver finish of ORVM turned black in some areas within a period of 12 months. I was replaced on warranty. But I waited one month to get the material after it was reported. The mud flap is fitted with 2 small screws and it often fall. No spare flaps are available at the service centers. The major issue is being reported from the day-one about the message displayed as “Engine System Failure, Restricted Performance”. The Tata can never rectify it since last two years. It happened just 2 days back too. It has plus points of comfort, fuel efficiency and views. But Tata has to travel a lot to satisfy its customers. I know I’m not going to get solution. Once I posted my problems with this vehicle on the next day of purchasing it in your facebook page. Instead of giving me a solution, It was deleted in 3 minutes. That’s why I posted in blogs like this which resulted in big setbacks for Tata. I have received more than 25 calls in first 1 week itself from different places in India.

TATA often has such problems. They're better off making trucks. I too had a similar problem with manza-till date to action

thanks a lot for sharing your problems. i was a lot interested in tata aria from the day it was launched. but reading your opinion i also visited the showroom and asked for the test drive of an old vehicle of any employee. they agreed but when i start the vehicle suddenly i realized that it cant give me the power and force which i needed or i was searching.. and after 20 minutes of test drive finally i accepted buying this vehicle is a wastage of money. this metal box doesn't give power when u need . specially during overtakes at high speed the engine just like leaves working and during low speed there are lots of shaking and throttling.. it seems like driving a truck is much more far better than this junk. finally decided and booked one ertiga atleast it gives much more power ,fuel economy and comfort. ya comfort in ertiga are not elegant class but still we can rely on maruti Suzuki for many things.. i would like to thanks you alot for being an eye opener and saving my money from getting waste.. thank you

My Tata Aria has covered 22k by this time. The main thing I notice is that TATA is not yet come up to the level of handling sophisticated cars and the its customers well. Now the problem I face with its service. Most of the wear-n-tear parts might not be in their stock, we need to wait for 6-7 days. I had to go 2 times for replacing a mud-flap. The service people are not as competent as those who are in Toyota, where I often go to service my Fortuner. Your quote about power is incorrect, Aria has a tremendous power which is beyond comparison with ertiga. Mileage is true: ertiga saves more pennies with miles as it is a smaller and lighter vehicle, equipped with lighter engine. Aria give about 15-16kms/l on highways, and 9.8-10.5 in city.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes it was good decision not to go for this car. But I would like to say one thing about its power. If you felt it's under-powered, it could be some problem with that particular vehicle. Power is adequate and I sometime feel it's at par with the fortuner that I own (on level roads). Overtaking is smooth and punchy. It's much above than ertiga, but on fuel consumption it is beyond comparison with it. Please consider Aria is a double massive vehicle weighing 2 tonnes. Two of my neighbors followed me even even after my negative feedback, they are also suffering now!

really... it was true, i bought a car on 22 march 2013 and now my car get stucked on road and now they are saying that engine got stucked after roaming around 800kms and now the showroom management was saying that i am helpless to give you another peace to peacxe replacement , if you want go further then you can keep a case on consumer court . this is response from management so please dont go for tata motors its a kind request for buyers to dont go.

Yes. You can expect such things from a Tata vehicle. I am sure I need to scrap my car in near future. I tried to sell it but I am shocked with the resale value. The car which has clocked just 28000 kms can get maximum of 40% of its invoice value after a period of 24 months!
