Worst steering control

I have driven one of my relative's Celerio incidentally and found that the power steering was performing worst than a mechanical steering which was not returning back to normal after the turn when I taken out my hands.The dealer tried to convince me by giving test ride of another car with AMT.Surprisingly it was also showing the same defect which is actually a safety failure.You have to turn the steering back to make it straight.Same experience in Wagon R also.
