Pros : Looks, Power, Interiors
Cons : Drive Quality, Engine Noise, Maintenance
I plan to buy a hatchback and this is where I took a test drive of Hyundai i10. I have already tested WagonR and Celerio so I could make a decent comparison among the cars. Important things first.
The car has got good exteriors and you are most likely to get impressed by them. The front, rear and side profile all look elegant. Now drive quality is not something of which you can much boast about. I do not like the engine noise first and then the power delivery was also not very linear. At high rpm though the engine did not stop responding which is a good thing.
From the driver's seat, controls at center console are quite accessible and there is ample storage space as well. The placing of transmission box is also good.
Interiors are of fine quality but I did not like the music system. Speakers are not of good quality and music enthusiasts will surely hate this. Rear passengers get decent space to adjust themselves. If you travel with your family, i10 is not a bad option in the sense your loved ones won't quarrel with you over the space. This is a clear cut advantage over the WagonR.
The seats of i10 are comfortable even if you have to spend hours on them. But then Celerio too offers this with a better feel for the rear occupants. Even the tall WagonR is a great option if you have tall members in the family.
If you are planning to buy this car, surely take a test drive of it, as well as its competitors. Ride quality is very important for every driver and the judgement differs from person to person. Price and maintenance cost are another major factors of which you should take care of.
