The first look

Look and Style is excellent and it has no competition in terms of look. It is  very refreshing, gives a sturdy look, the back door opening sideways is good.  There's  no or little comfort ( just judged by sitting in the car displayed at the mall). The front is  not comfortable as the dashboard and the electronic console is coming towards the seat as a beak of a bird. It is taking all the front space ( as a driver does not get a feel of a spacious car). The rear seats lack enough space to make three people of average height and dimensions sit comfortably ( three people can sit more comfortably in the Hyundai i20 or VW Polo). The car is lacking in width by at least one inch. The leg & head room is comfortable. If the car's top model comes for Rs 9 lakhs, then one should try the  Duster RXL 85 bhp for around 9.5 lakhs. But if the top variant comes around 7.5 lakhs then one should go ahead and buy ( majorly for the exterior and a good ground clearance making it a good off-road car as well). But the Ecosport definitely does not qualify for a family SUV as the Duster does. I have not tested the pickup and the mileage. The best features are the looks, the electronic gadgetry is upmarket, the sturdiness is good. Steel has been used efficiently. Doors are heavy, and the car gives a safe feel sitting inside. If the pricing is around Rs6-8 lakhs, it is definitely a competition to the i20, Dzire, Polo or even  the Vento.
