Latest Update: We have detailed the five things that you should know about the second-generation Skoda Kodiaq.

Launch: Skoda could launch the new SUV in India by June 2024.

Price: Skoda’s flagship SUV is expected to have a starting price of Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Seating Capacity: The new Kodiaq will be offered in both 5- and 7-seater layouts.

Boot Space: The Skoda SUV will have a boot space of up to 910-litres, which may vary depending on the variant chosen.

Engine & Transmission: The second-gen Skoda Kodiaq will get multiple powertrain options: a 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine (150PS), a 2-litre turbo petrol engine (204PS), a 2-litre diesel engine (150PS/193PS) and 1.5-litre turbo petrol plug in hybrid engine with a 25.7kWh battery pack (204PS). 

Save for the plug-in hybrid, all other engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT), while the former is paired with a 6-speed DCT. The 2-litre turbo petrol and 2-litre diesel engine also gets the option of all-wheel drive (AWD)drivetrain.

Features: It gets amenities such as a 13-inch touchscreen unit, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, optional heads-up display and a cooled, dual phone box in the second row which can charge two smartphones simultaneously at 15W.

Rivals: The second-gen Kodiaq will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster.
