This time around we would like to share Road Test verdict of New Nissan X Trail, an SUV. This off-roader is powered by a 2.0 litre, 1995cc, CRDi diesel engine that lays out a top power of 150 PS at 4000 rpm and churns out peak torque of 320 Nm at 2000 rpm. The SUV is mated to a six speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is built on monocoque frame and C-platform of Renault-Nissan alliance. The New Nissan X Trail comes mated with all mode 4X4-i drive system that becomes active with the knob; you can select different modes according to the type of off-road ahead. The powertrain of the SUV is also a fuel efficient one as we got 14.5 kmpl in the road test; the mileage figures are very impressive.

The New Nissan X Trail comes with more or less the same old exterior that is retained to its fabulous popularity. The front fascia has got unique honeycomb designed front grille that is designed with twin chrome finished vertical slats, it is placed with centrally located Nissan logo. The bold front nose sports aggressive Bi-Xenon headlamps and 3D shaped fog lamp slots. The overall appearance of the front side of the New Nissan X Trail is distinctive from others in the race. The rear side view of the SUV is dominated with large windows and massive wheelarches. The rear side of the SUV is as aggressive as the frontal one that is contributed by the vertically stacked bright tail lamps and wider rear windshield.

The inside view of the New Nissan X Trail is eye-catching and lovable at first sight. And why not, the SUV has been equipped with funky instrument panel now placed conventionally; centre console consists of AC control and music system that further enhances the dashboard looks. The seat rows ensure ultimate comfort with its soft but comfortable cushions; the seats are power adjustable that allow backrest, reach and height adjustment. Each seat row is placed keeping idle legroom, headroom and shoulder room in mind. The trunk space is also spacious that is added with rear parcel trays that can be removed to make room for more luggage. The powerful but compact engine of New Nissan X Trail is coupled with 6 speed automatic gearbox, which allows butter smooth shifting and the end-result is remarkable. As this is a diesel engine, it makes a roaring sound but it can't be heard in the luxurious cabin. The New Nissan X Trail is an SUV that performs wonderfully on highways and clears off-road terrain effortlessly.
