Tata Sumo Gold EX is the mid range variant in its model lineup that comes equipped with a powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. It belts out a maximum power of 83.8bhp along with torque of 250Nm. This is offered with a five speed manual transmission gear box. Its exteriors look quite decent and includes some aspects like body colored bumpers, and attractive graphics. The front fascia is highlighted by the bold radiator grille, whereas the bright tail lamps makes its rear end look stylish. When it comes to interiors, it is packed with interesting attributes like an air conditioner, instrument cluster, power steering wheel and many others. On the safety front, it has a high mount stop lamp, side intrusion beams, and front disc brakes that ensures good protection.

Exteriors:

This utility vehicle comes with a robust body structure that is equipped with a few remarkable elements. To describe its front facade, it has a large windscreen made of a tinted glass. This comes integrated with a couple of wipers. The bonnet has some expressive lines, while the radiator grille has the company's insignia embossed on it. On either sides of the grille, it has clear lens headlamps that are integrated with turn indicators. The bumper is in body color and fitted with an air intake section. Coming to its side profile, there are body graphics present on its doors, which makes it look quite appealing. It has body colored door handles and outside rear view mirrors. Meanwhile, the wheel arches are fitted with a set of 15 inch steel rims that also have wheel caps. These wheels are further covered with radial tubeless tyres of size 215/75 R15. On the other hand, its rear end has a simple design tail lamp cluster, which includes turn indicators. There is a large windscreen with a high mount stop lamp and the tail gate comes engraved with company's emblem.

Interiors:

Its internal section is quite spacious and it takes in seven people with great ease. The cabin is decorated neatly with black and linen color scheme, whereas the door trims get fabric inserts. Besides providing sufficient head room, it also guarantees ample leg as well as shoulder space. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats that are covered with fine quality fabric upholstery. These seats come with integrated headrests, which offer enhanced comfort. The cockpit has a well designed dashboard that houses a center console, air vents, glove box compartment and a steering wheel. It also has an instrument cluster that includes a speedometer, low fuel indicator, and displays some notifications. Aside from all these, the cabin also includes gear shift knob, floor console with hand brake, assist grips and some storage spaces.

Engine and Performance:

The car maker has offered this variant with a 3.0-litre diesel motor that comes with a displacement capacity of 2956cc. It carries four cylinders that are fitted with eight valves. It is integrated with a common rail fuel injection system and coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box. This mill has the ability to produce a maximum power of 83.8bhp at 3000rpm and torque of 250Nm in the range of 1000 to 2000rpm. It produces a mileage of 15.3 Kmpl on the bigger roads, which comes down to about 12 Kmpl within the city. This variant can achieve a top speed of about 125 Kmph and crosses the speed mark of 100 Kmph in approximately 27.6 seconds.

Braking and Handling:

It incorporated with best in class braking and handling mechanism. Its front wheels are fitted with superior quality disc brakes while the rear ones have drum brakes. It also gets the best in class suspension system wherein, a double wishbone is assembled on its front axle with coil spring & anti-roll bar. Meanwhile, the rear axle is affixed with parabolic leaf springs. This not only keeps the vehicle stable but also well balanced on all kinds of roads. Besides these, it is equipped with a responsive power steering system that makes handling quite easier.

Comfort Features:

It is installed with an air conditioner that also has a demister and heater system as well. There are sun visors available for both front passengers, while there are cup holders present on the glove box lid. A 12V power outlet is available on center console that is useful for charging electronic devices and mobile phones. Moreover, it has a front door pad with magazine pocket and bottle holder. Besides these, there is also remote fuel lid opener, mobile holder, anti glare rear view mirror, and a few other such aspects.

Safety Features:

As far as safety is concerned, it is equipped with some crucial aspects that offer maximum protection. Some of these include rear high mount stop lamp, disc brakes on front wheels, rigid body structure and side intrusion beams on all doors that adds to the security quotient.
