Maruti Suzuki has introduced a Limited Edition in the Wagon R series with added features. This particular trim is being called as Maruti Wagon R LXi Avance Edition . It is one of the entry level variant in the petrol version and is offered with a lot of alluring elements. The external appeal has been especially improvised by body graphics on the side profile, body toned outside mirrors plus door handles and a pair of sporty rails on its roof. The spoiler at rear end seems to be the show stopper in the overall picture of this small car. Furthermore, these can be availed in three decent shades of superior white, glistening grey and silky silver. Adding convenience, power windows are provided for the rear doors as well. Central locking with keyless entry and alarm system is added, which will act as security and also will give convenience. A 2-DIN stereo unit is integrated with speakers and it is now blessed with Bluetooth connectivity. One can find the dual-toned dashboard with new beige color quite appealing and there is also a new gear knob present in the cabin. The seats are covered in premium fabric and the door trims too share the same fabric inserts. Apart from these, other aspects are all as per the existing LXi version.

Exteriors:

The front grille has chrome stripes on it and holds a set of halogen headlamps on either sides with a blue tint. Both the bumpers are wide, while its external wing mirrors and the door handles are painted in the body tone. The side profile has moldings and is also decorated with attractive graphics. On the rear end, the tailgate is stylishly designed with chrome garnish and there are taillamps, which have crystal effect to them. The are a pair of silver rails on the roof and an antenna too mounted for better reception of the radio. A set of sturdy steel wheels are integrated which are covered with wheel caps and are affixed by tubeless tyres.

Interiors:

The cabin comprises of a sleek looking dual toned dashboard consisting of new beige and black combination. There is a new gear knob that looks good. The seats are wrapped in premium fabric upholstery and there are bits of fabric inserts in the door trims as well. This trim also gets a Bluetooth connectivity based stereo unit that also has speakers in the front as well as the rear. There are power windows switches on the driver side door armrest for all the doors. An electronic multi tripmeter and a digital odometer are present in the instrument cluster. A glove box can be found in the dashboard and bottle holders plus cup holders in the front door trims which will add to the handy storage spaces in the compartment. As a standard feature, there is an internal day and night rear view mirror. Seatbelts are provided for the front and rear seats too, while the rear doors are integrated with child safety locks. There are three assist grips just above the doors apart from that of the driver. The rear parcel shelf is quite large and can be used to keep quite a few things handy during the drive.

Engine and Performance:

It is decked with an all aluminium light weight K108 engine which can displace about 998cc. It can produce a maximum power of 67.6bhp at 6200rpm and a peak torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. It consists of three cylinders and twelve valves and is based on dual overhead camshaft valve configuration. With multi-point fuel injection fuel supply system, this motor is efficient in delivering a fuel economy of 20.5Kmpl under standard driving conditions. A 5-speed manual transmission gear-box is incorporated. It is in compliance with BS4 emission standards.

Braking and Handling:

This hatchback has been equipped with a robust suspension mechanism along with a sturdy set of brakes for front as well as its rear wheels. This trim weighs about 870 Kgs and has a minimum turning circle radius of 4.6 meters. The front axle is affixed with a McPherson strut that is further bolstered with a set of coil springs. While the rear axle gets an isolated trailing link with a pair of similar coil springs. The front wheels are equipped with a couple of ventilated disc brakes, whereas, the rear ones have the standard set of drum brakes.

Comfort Features:

This trim has been graced with quite a lot of added features, which will certainly attract the buyers. The list includes a 2-DIN stereo unit with well placed speakers that also has Bluetooth connectivity. A stylish looking dual tone dashboard with a new beige shade added to it. Then there are rear power windows, a new silver finished gear knob, premium fabric upholstery for all the seats as well as fabric on the door trims inside that adds to the swish look. Apart from all these, there is a responsive electronic power steering wheel, reclining and sliding full flat front seats, while the rear bench seat can be folded on a 60:40 ratio for bringing in more luggage. A powerful air conditioner unit with heater and neatly done up vents are also there for better air circulation inside the cabin. These can be operated by rotary controls that are placed on the central console along with the integrated audio unit and a charging socket.

Safety Features:

This is one of the best selling hatchback in the country and this is not possible without essential safety aspects. This version has been fitted with several such protective functions, which takes care of the vehicle as well as the passengers in it. Some of these are a collapsible steering column, which helps to save the driver in case of an head-on collision, ELR (energy load reduction) based seat belts for front and rear passengers, a driver seat belt warning in the instrument cluster. Then there are a pair of intermittent wipers with washers for the front windscreen, child proof rear locks a unique high mounted stop lamp, halogen head lights with a leveling device. It also has an energy absorbing body structure with side impact beams and a few more such aspects.
