Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS latest updates
Baleno RS Price: Maruti has launched the 2019 Baleno RS facelift in India. It is offered in a single petrol variant which is priced at Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Baleno RS Engine: The Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder Boosterjet petrol engine which develops 102PS of max power and 150Nm of peak torque. The power and torque figures are 18PS and 35Nm more than the Baleno’s 1.2-litre petrol engine. The Boosterjet also gets a new 5-speed manual transmission that is designed to handle the higher performance on offer. Despite a bump in the performance figures, the claimed mileage of the Maruti Baleno RS is impressive at 21.1kmpl, only 0.3kmpl lower than the stock hatchback.
Baleno RS Features: The updated RS shares its feature list with the top-spec Baleno Alpha. Safety features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and co-driver seat belt reminder. The RS also comes with rear disc brakes, unlike the standard Baleno.
Other features on offer include auto LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new SmarPlay Studio 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto dimming IRVM, rear parking camera, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, automatic air-conditioning, steering-mounted audio controls and a start-stop button.
Maruti Baleno RS Rivals: The Maruti Baleno RS competes with the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, Fiat Punto Abarth and the Tata Tiago JTP in the affordable hot hatch space.
