Promises 640 kilometres of range, and a top speed of 259kmph!

Remember Fisker? The company that made the gorgeous-looking Karma? Well, it now has a new kid on the block. It's called EMotion. Cheeky, we know, but it's aiming straight for the Tesla Model S, which we all know is possibly the pinnacle of electric vehicle tech at the moment. What does it have in store?

To start with, let's not forget the fact that Henrik Fisker – founder of Fisker Automobiles – is the same man who designed many pretty cars, including the BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DB9 and the Vantage. Needless to mention, design will always be a strong point for any car rolling off Fisker's assembly lines. The EMotion is no different and it does look like it has time-travelled back from the future.

The bubble-car–like roofline, the strong fenders and the aggressive face make a distinct impression. We like how the design isn't exaggerated and looks purposeful too. And here's a design trait to take on the Tesla Model X's gull-wing doors – the EMotion features dihedral butterfly doors that open upwards. Pretty cool, right?

There aren't too many details about the interiors. That said, Fisker claims that "the interior will emphasize ultimate comfort and user interface from both front and rear seats, and all seats will have access to screens and infotainment features". Fisker also claimed that the EMotion will be a spacious car on the inside and have "more rear legroom than many full-size luxury sedans".

Powerplant specifics are extremely sketchy at the moment, but Fisker does say that the EMotion will get 400 miles of range (~ 644 kms) and a top speed of 161mph (~259kmph). Unlike the Karma which is a plug-in hybrid including both a petrol and an electric motor, the EMotion is likely to be powered by electricity alone. "The EMotion will use a new battery technology using graphene," read a press release issued by Fisker Inc. Notably, the EMotion will also feature autonomous driving tech.

The EMotion will be built in Fisker's existing manufacturing facility in the USA, with deliveries commencing mid next year.
