Honda Vision XS 1 review
The Indian Auto Expo 2014 is flooded with new models and concepts from many of the auto makers across the world. Among all the concept models, Honda Vision XS-1 is the one that caught the attention of many. The introduction of this new concept marks the entry of HCIL in to the compact SUV segment in the country. There is a little bit of information provided in the company's official portal that reveals about the space inside the cabin. The company claims that vehicle is spacious from inside with ample leg space, as the size of the lower portion of instrument panel is reduced. Also the company stated that the roof lining has been raised in order to provide good head room space and larger windows, which will give a wide and open view to the occupants inside. This concept SUV is said to be coming with three rows for a maximum of seven passengers, which is good. Despite being the SUV with compact dimensions, it can host seating for at least seven passengers, thanks to the company's creative design that helped in bringing three rows inside the cabin. On the other hand, the company has not revealed anything regarding the features or specifications of this concept SUV.
The company has disclosed some of the interior pictures of this compact SUV that reveals about unconventional, yet attractive design of the cabin. Unlike the conventional models, this Honda Vision XS-1 concept comes with a very sleek and slim dashboard equipped with AC vents, advanced central console, instrument cluster and so on. The design of the steering wheel is also quite different and it comes with four spokes with multi-functional switches mounted on it. The individual seats in the front cabin are separated by a console that comes equipped with the gear shift box, cup holders and arm rest. The company has given a double color look inside the cabin with black and white color scheme and it is complimented by chrome inserts. However, the production version may come with a different design inspired by this concept version. It is still unclear whether the vehicle will be placed in the sub-4-meter segment or in the higher segment as it is still at the design stage.
Coming to the technicalities, market experts believe that this SUV might be offered with a globally proven 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel power plant that is already powering the likes of Honda Amaze and Honda City. However, it is too early to make any statement regarding the technicalities of this concept vehicle. As far as its exteriors are concerned, the Honda Vision XS-1 comes with the the company's signature design attributes that gives it an aerodynamic stature to its front. The radiator grille of this concept vehicle is inspired from Honda City, while its side profile gets design cues from Honda CRV. The company unveiled this concept version with just two doors, but the actual production version will be getting four doors. Also it comes fitted with a set of features including alloy wheels, chrome window sill surround, a pair of dynamic fog lights and a sleek headlight cluster, which are expected to inspire the future models of the company.
