September 7, 2013: Ford India that launched the compact SUV EcoSport in India in June this year at a very competitive pricing, has now increased the prices of all its variants. Depreciating Rupee value has been said to be the reason behind the price hike. EcoSport prices have now been increased by Rs 30,000 to Rs. 40,000, making the base 1.5-litre petrol Ambiente cost Rs 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) . The top-end variant's price has now gone up by around Rs 37,000, while the 1.0-litre EcoBoost Optional variant now costs Rs. 38,000 higher.
December 2, 2013: The French automaker Renault has officially unveiled the Duster facelift, which will launch in the Indian car market as well. The exact launch date of the vehicle is yet to be announced, but we expect it to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It now features a dual-tone chrome grille, restyled headlamps with double-optic units and Daytime running lamps, new roof bars, revised tail lamps, redesigned scuff plates and chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. The interiors of the car looks similar to the regular model, but it gets a new instrument cluster, steering-integrated control and a new centre console with Renault's infotainment system. The facelift is expected to be powered by the same 1.5-litre k9k diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol mill. It is also expected to feature a new 1.2-litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine, which will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
November 6, 2013: Mahindra & Mahindra has silently introduced the entry level 'W4' model of its popular SUV, XUV500. It has been priced at Rs. 10.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The XUV500 W4 model is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 140bhp and 330Nm of top torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which transmits power to front wheels. It accelerates to 60kmph from stand still in mere 5.4 seconds, and offers an impressive mileage of 15kmpl (ARAI Certified). The entry level model gets a range of technology, safety and comfort features such as projector headlamps with LEDs, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, all wheel disc brakes, twin HVAZ, power & tilt steering, power adjustable ORVMs, remote central locking and many more.
October 9, 2013: Nissan India has finally launched the Terrano SUV in India for Rs. 9.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The Terrano is based on the highly popular Duster, however, the company has made enough changes to make it look different and refresh. While, the front facade of the SUV gets new bumper, an all-new grille and headlamps, the rear sports a new tail-lights. The Terrano is powered by the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine with two power outputs - 84bhp and 109bhp. The single petrol variant of the SUV gets the same 1.6-litre powertrain. It will compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio.
December 12, 2013: Isuzu Motors, the Japanese SUV maker has started the local production of its models in India. The Isuzu MU-7 SUV and D-Max pickup will be assembled at the Hindustan Motors manufacturing plant in Thiruvallur, Chennai, while the CKD kits will be sourced from Thailand. The locally produced MU-7 SUV has been priced at Rs. 22 lakh for the BS III variant and Rs. 22.3 lakh for the BS IV variant. Isuzu's own manufacturing facility will be operationalised by 2015-16. The SUV is powered by a 3-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 160.8bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via a five speed manual transmission.
October 9: 2013, Mahindra & Mahindra has silently introduced the Scorpio Special Edition for Rs. 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Only 500 units of the special edition will be offered, and is available only in single Pearl White colour. The vehicle gets the chrome plated alloy wheels and racy decals. The interiors of the special edition Scorpio features a high gloss wood finish centre bezel, beige European leather seat upholstery, leather covered steering wheel and gear shift and knob. It also gets a roof mounted 9" DVD player for the entertainment of passengers. The vehicle comes equipped with additional safety features including ABS and Airbag, EST suspension, Intellipark with sensors, intelligent rain and light sensors and tyre-tronics. The Special Edition Scorpio is powered by the 2.2-litre, 4 cylinder mHawk diesel engine that churns out 120bhp.
25 May, 2012 : Mahindra Bolero, the flagship Sports utility vehicle from homegrown manufacturer Mahindra has clocked in 1, 00,686 units in FY 2011-12 registering a 21% increase. Bolero was once again bestowed with the highest selling SUV title in India for the sixth consecutive year; also this was the highest annual sales garnered by the Bolero since it came into being. In March 2012, only the SUV managed 10,026 unit sales which is also the highest ever monthly sales till now. Mahindra Bolero sold 83,112 units of sales in 2010-11 FY. M&M’s Bolero has risen up to the seventh position in the top selling passenger vehicles in India in FY 2011-12 from the 9th position it had in the year 2010-11. Noticeably Mahindra Bolero is the only SUV to feature in the top selling passenger vehicles in India.
October 21, 2013: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the Fortuner TRD Sportivo - Limited Edition for Rs. 24,26,247/- (ex showroom Delhi). The limited edition will be limited to 400 units, and will be sold till the month of December 2013. It will be available in the 4x4 MT variant and comes equipped with several features, which makes it look more sporty. The Fortuner TRD Sportivo Limited Edition gets aerodynamically designed dual tone front and rear bumper spoiler, TRD engraved sporty side body strips, rear roof spoiler, radiator grille with TRD emblem and rear TRD Sportivo badge. September 19, 2013: India's leading utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra has now updated its flagship sedan Thar, basis on the feedback received by customers. The most important update made to the Thar is a new cross bar between the A and B-Pillar to improve rigidity. Also,the fixed flange setup has been replaced by the auto locking hubs at the front axle. There are few interior changes too have been made, and most important of those is the headroom enhancement by lowering the rear seats by 6-7mm.
August 19, 2013: India's fastest growing luxury car maker, Audi India has now launched the much anticipated price cut version of its flagship compact crossover Q3, called the Q3 S Edition in India for Rs. 24.99 lakh. At this price, the Q3 S Edition has become India's most affordable luxury SUV. Since the Q3 S is basically a stripped down version of the Q3, it misses out on some features like Quattro four-wheel drive and automatic transmission gearbox. It is now a front-wheel drive, and the power is transmitted to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Also,the engine has been tuned for more fuel economy, it now returns an impressive 17.71kmpl mileage as against regular Q3's 15.73kmpl. However, the power too has come down, it now produces 140bhp, while the regular Q3 churns out 174.3bhp.
16 March, 2013 : In keeping with the 2013 Union Budget, the government proposed an excise duty hike of 3 percent for SUVs. Raised to 30 percent from the earlier 27 percent, this hike will impact the prices of many SUVs including the Ford Endeavour . The company's President and MD, yesterday announced that the price of Endeavour will go up as a response to this hike.

17 October,2012 : Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton, the first offspring of the Mahindra India and South Korean auto major Ssangyong is finally out on Indian roads at an introductory price of Rs.17.67 Lakh for RX5 manual variant and Rs. 19.67 lakh for the RX7 automatic variant(both prices ex-showroom Mumbai) . The third generation of the Ssangyong Rexton W SUV is brought in through CKD route and is manufactured at Mahindra India’s Chakan facility.Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton W is offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater trims. The SUV derives its energy from a 2696cc diesel engine which comes with 5 pots and is offered in two set of tunes. The manual variant which is dubbed as RX270 XDi’s engine cranks out 162bhp @ 4000 rpm and 340Nm torque at a range of 1800-3250rpm whereas the Automatic variant’s engine yields 184bhp @ 4000rpm and 402Nm torque @1600-3000rpm, stating a difference of 22bhp power and 62Nm in manual and automatic variant. Mahindra has priced Rexton extremely competitively with a difference of Rs.2 lakh less than Fortuner and Endeavour, however the catch here is these prices are just introductory.

14th February, 2013 : BMW has finally delivered the promised X1 at a base price of Rs. 27.9 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) . The car is available in a total of 3 trims namely, X1 20d, 20d Sports-Line and 20d X-Line priced at Rs. 27.9 lakh for the base model and Rs. 32.5 lakh for the other two. The new X1 features the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that cranks out 184bhp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Refreshed features include a redesigned bumper and slightly altered front grille with a redone lower front end. This refreshes the styling of the X1 gives it a better stance. The corona rings have been redesigned in the headlamp and so are the ORVMs.
December 4, 2013: Honda has launched the diesel powered variant of its flagship SUV, Honda CR-V in Australia. It is still unclear whether it will make its way to the Indian car market or not. Under the hood, the SUV gets the 2.2-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 140bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Mated with six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission, the SUV is tuned to offer excellent fuel efficiency of 17kmpl. More additions include, the Honda's Real Time Four-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control System that provides appropriate grip over rough surfaces and Hill Descent Control that works in collaboration with Vehicle Stability Assist to provide most stable ride.
December 5, 2013: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has silently launched the new Land Cruiser Prado in India at the price of Rs 84.87 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and the bookings for the same have already been started. The company went on upgrading the SUV at its exterior front, while certain additional features are also added inside the vehicle. The exterior changes include fog lamps, newly designed headlamps, new front grille, bumper and rear combination lamp. At the rear, the car gets new license plate garnish and LED headlamps with DRLs (daytime running lamps). Inside the vehicle, the fresh changes include second row seat heater, multi-terrain monitor, display audio with 7-inch screen, cosmetic changes in centre console, newly designed optitron metre and crawl control.

4th-Nov-2011 : British carmaker Land Rover has pulled the wraps off the latest SUV Rover Range Rover Evoque today. Launched just after Diwali, this SUV might not attract many buyers. However, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque priced at Rs 44.75 lakh is so costly that it will cater only to a niche audience who would not wait for suitable timing and just jump on to buy the extremely luxurious Evoque with their open-ended budgets. Such is the hysteria about this sheer luxury SUV in global market that the Range Rover Evoque’s production is sold out for a full one year. This SUV is a robust and powerful avatar by Land Rover unlike its previous cars that did not attract many takers. Evoque is also the lightest, smallest and most efficient Range Rover product in India. Range Rover Evoque will be pitted against the Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Volvo XC90. Land Rover Evoque is launched in coupe and five door SUV body styles. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will be the only luxury SUV in India to be available in three door guise, thus carving out a distinctive and monopoly market for itself. Evoque will be powered by a 2179 cc diesel engine mated to a six speed automatic gearbox. A more powerful 1999 cc petrol powered Evoque has also seen its dawn. A caboodle of latest safety, security and comfort features are loaded on the Evoque. The Evoque SUV is available in three variants each, Pure, Prestige and Dynamic, for the petrol and diesel engines. The CKD assembly of the Evoque is scheduled to happen in India, in the nearly 12 months. Jaguar-Land Rover has however allotted a limited run of around 50 Evoque cars for the Indian market and it is from these cars that existing bookings will be serviced.
8th April, 2013: The homegrown automaker, Premier has now launched the facelifted Rio (called as T200 there) in China recently, the similar vehicle is likely to make its Indian debut as well, however we are not sure about the timeline of the launch as of now. While the engine of the vehicle has remained the same, the newly launched compact SUV has got changes both inside and out. The Rio facelift receives new front fascia with redesigned headlamps, a more aggressive triple-slat grille and a contemporary looking bumper with a new set of fog-lamps. October 29, 2013: Tata Motors that unveiled the new Sumo Gold at the HORIZONEXT, has finally launched the vehicle. The vehicle is now available across all the Tata dealerships across the nation. It has been priced at Rs. 5.93 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and is now available in 5 variants- GX, FX, EX, LX and CX. December 4, 2013: Hyundai, the country's second largest carmaker is expected to unveil the next generation 2014 Santa Fe at the next year's Indian Auto Expo. The vehicle will be locally assembled at the company's Chennai manufacturing unit. The next SUV features the company's famous Fluidic design philosophy, which we have already seen on several other Hyundai cars in India. The new Santa Fe is 30mm larger, 45mm lower and 5mm wider than the current model. Under the hood, it will get the 2.2-litre CRDi engine producing 194bhp and 422Nm. It will be made available in both six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The new model is expected to be priced around Rs. 22-26 lakh.
10 January, 2013 : India's second largest luxury car maker, Audi has finally launched the updated Audi Q5 today in India at a starting price of Rs. 43.16 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Launched in a total three engine options- 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines, the 2013 Q5 has been priced between Rs. 43.16 and 48.71 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The new Audi Q5 has largely remained the same in design except some positive changes like upgraded hexagonal grille, new fog lamps, all new headlamps along with surround day time lamps and updated tail lamps and a new rear diffuser at the back. But what has come as even a bigger and happier news is the fact that all three engines now return more power and 15% improved fuel efficiency.
10 October,2012: Mercedes Benz India has unearthed the third generation of the Mercedes Benz M Class ML250 CDI SUV in the Indian market for a price of Rs. 45.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV was launched at Mercedes local assembly at Chakan,Pune and interestingly is the first SUV from the German auto major that will be manufactured locally. Mercedes Benz ML Class 250 CDI is the notched down version of the M Class 350 CDI which was rolled out in May this year. This low priced version of the SUV is powered with 2.2 Liter, 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine that cranks outr 205bhp power and 500Nm torque value;this 2.2L diesel engine also does duty in the E Class and C Class models. The ML 250 CDI comes with 4WD option for those who want to go for an offroad experience. The company has asorned the car with Intelligent Light System, Lane Keeping Assist among others and the new ML 250 CDI will turn the heat against Audi Q5,BMW X3, Porsche Cayenne and will try to amplify Mercedes position in the Indian car market.
August 14, 2013: General Motors India has now introduced the facelifted Chevrolet Captiva with cosmetic changes both on the exterior and interior. But one major change given to the facelifted Captiva is the addition of new 6-speed manual gearbox transmission variant in the line-up, which is a rear-wheel driven version. The exterior changes include revised bumpers, new front grille, new LED tail lamps and newly designed 18-inch alloys. The lower variants of the car have received a new upholstery. Other changes include a larger infotainment screen, ambient lighting and heated rear seat. Price for both the Manual and automatic versions are kept the same.
December 5, 2013: Porsche launches Cayenne Platinum Edition series which features certain exterior updates as well as new safety and comfort features. It includes two models- Platinum Edition and Diesel Platinum Edition. The Platinum Edition model receives Tiptronic S transmission, Power Steering Plus, Bi-Xenon headlights, ParkAssist (front and rear) and privacy glazing in the rear. While to its exteriors, the vehicle sports air intake slats on the front apron, Platinum Silver Metallic exterior paint, the side window surrounds, the rear bumper trim strip that brings out the sporty appeal, and the spoiler lip that adds to its elegance. October 12, 2013: BMW that unveiled the 3rd generation X5 at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, is now all set to launch the vehicle in the Indian car market as well. The vehicle is expected to hit the Indian shores by the end of this year. The new X5 gets a broader kidney grilles with chrome surrounds, two-piece tailgate, LED integrated headlamps and others. The new BMW X5 is 5mm wider, 32mm longer and 14mm taller than the existing model. The vehicle offers a 650-litres of boot capacity, and the company could also introduce the third row seats in the new X5. The new X5 will be made available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol model will get a 4.4-litre V8 turbo engine, while the diesel versions will get a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder and another 3L 6-cylinder diesel mill.
October 18, 2013: Land Rover India has finally introduced the 2014 Range Rover Sport in the Indian car market for Rs. 1.09 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new Range Rover Sport is being offered in four variants - S, SE, HSE and the Autobiography. It is based on the new light-weight aluminium platform, which makes it 420kgs lighter than the current model. Available in a two tone paint job, it gets a restyled grille, new headlights and a sporty body kit that features a rear spoiler. The vehicle also comes equipped with various advanced features like traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, park assist and others. The new Range Rover Sport is available in both petrol and diesel guise - a 3.0-litre V6 diesel and the 5.0-litre petrol V8. While the supercharged petrol develops 509bhp, the diesel engine churns out 293bhp. Both engines have been coupled to a ZF eight speed gearbox.
20 March, 2013 : Jaguar Land Rover is offering the all-new Range Rover with a new choice of engine, which is the 3.0-litre, TDV6 diesel engine that cranks out 255bhp. With this engine option, the Range Rover HSE will be priced at Rs. 1.44 crore while the Range Rover Vogue will come with a price tag of Rs. 1.64 crore (both Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The very efficient 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel mill will be mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
8 December,2012: Suzuki unveiled the Grand Vitara facelift version in the Japanese market in July 2012 and since then this version in Australia,Russia and China. Finally the Japanese auto major has launched the newfangled Grand Vitara in UK. The vehicle is launched with a full spare wheel with 225/70 tire on the tailgate which increases the length of the vehicle by 200mm on the five door models and 170mm on three door models.The cabin area bells and whistles have been borrowed from Ritz, SX4 and Swift. The seat design is trimmed and a 6.1 inch touchscreen Colour Navigation System have got on board. The music system supports CD, radio, SD card, media player connected via the USB port as well as Bluetooth streaming. The 1.9L DDiS engine is tweaked to increase the fuel efficiency and reduce environmental emission. The price is marked as £15,995 (Rs.13.96 Lakh). Maruti Suzuki India is mulling to locally produce this vehicle in future and is speculated to launch in the year 2013. Whether the 1.9L DDiS engine is going to make it to the Indian shores is still speculated, however the Vitara facelift is definitely going to heat up the already boiling SUV market.
13 March, 2013 : Land Rover has launched the Freelander 2 via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route at a base model price of Rs. 38.67 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) . This re-vamped Freelander 2 has been improved in terms of comfort and convenience and features changes to its colour options, exterior design and upgraded equipment. These include a brand new centre console, 7-inch colour touch-screen with enhanced audio systems from Meridian, and a fully integrated navigation system. Other improvements include a passive start function, an intelligent parking brake and a rear view camera. Freelander 2 comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 148bhp on the SE version, while the HSE gets a power output of 188bhp.
13 August, 2012: Conquest Vehicle Inc. introduced its first unarmored SUV in India, Evade. This army style vehicle come with new body style, design and aesthetics that includes all new headlamps and tail lights, sleeker fender flares, redesigned grille, hood scoop and a wider backdoor. The rear end side now features a step to make the access easy and there is a third tandem sunroof in the new vehicle. Conquest Evade is spawned on Ford F550 Super Duty chassis and the heavy duty body is an all aluminium-mild steel bend translating into a much lighter body. Evade is scheduled to come out this fall and with a price tag of Rs.8.5 Crore making it the most expensive SUV in the Indian car market.
29th-Mar-2012: Mitsubishi India added one more variant to its Outlander SUV lineup. The company has introduced a new seven seater Outlander SUV with proud. There hasn’t been any change in the seating arrangement of the five seater Outlander model, but Mitsubishi has just added a thin jump seat at the rear to adjust 2 more passengers. However, critics say that the less legroom in the third row is a bit uncomfortable for the passengers albeit the third thin jump seat can be easily folded, whenever one needs space for storing extra luggage in boot. Coming to the technical specs, the new seven-seater Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is blessed with a 2.4 litre of twin cam four cylinder petrol engine, which churns out 170 Ps of peak power along with 226 Nm of peak torque. The engine has been intelligently mated with six speed CVT gearbox, which helps the car to touch the 100 km per hour speed mark in just 10 seconds. The SUV has a top speed of 190 km per hours, which is totally impressive. The company has priced this 7 seater SUV in India very competitively at Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
25-August-2011 : The new BMW X3 has been launched in two diesel variants only, these are BMW X3 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive30d. The new BMW X3 will be CKD produced at the BMW Plant Chennai. New BMW X3 price starts at Rs41.2 lakh for the new BMW X3 xDrive20d variant and the new BMW X3 xDrive30d variant is priced at Rs 47.9 lakh. The SUV will be available in eight color options.
August 26, 2013: Mercedes-Benz India that launched the new GL-Class earlier this year for Rs. 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) has now launched the locally assembled version of the car in India at a much lesser price of Rs. 72.58 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier the car was brought as CBU, now it comes as a CKD and then assembled at the company's Chakan based plant near Pune. And with this Chakan Plant also becomes the second plant of Mercedes-Benz in the world to produce the GL class. The GL-Class is a seven seater luxury SUV with a boot space of 680-litres, while the third row seats are electrically foldable.
15th February, 2013 : Force Motors has launched the eagerly awaited Gurkha SUV into the Indian market today, with a price tag of Rs. 6.25 lakh for the base variant and Rs. 8.35 for the mid-level, while the top-end model is priced at Rs. 8.50 lakh. The 3 variants include a 2WD soft top, 4WD soft top and a 4WD hard top. The full-blooded SUV utilises the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen platform and also the Mercedes sourced 2.6-litre turbo diesel OM616 engine that cranks out a maximum power output of 81bhp along with 230Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Currently, the SUV is available in only a BS III version but there are talks of a BS IV compliant version in the last quarter of 2013.
16 April 2012: Mitsubishi Montero upgraded version was rolled out by Hindustan Motors with a price tag of Rs.7.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The SUV now hosts brand new features along with enhanced designs. The news features incorporated in the car includes all new muscular colored key front bumpers, new chrome radiator grille, new finish on power window panel and leather seats. The interiors are refreshed with the introduction of interior illumination color. Coming to the engine of the new Montero SUV, it will be powered by 3.2L DOHC diesel engine with intercooler and turbocharger which produces maximum power of 202 PS and 441 Nm torque. Mitsubishi Montero is available in solid white, black mica and cool silver metallic shades.
26 September, 2012 : Volkswagen India loves to surprise its consumers and this time the German auto major has soft launched the Touareg SUV with a price tag of Rs. 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi) however the sales will start this year end. The new Volkswagen Touareg is powered by 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine that comes coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission, which churns out a maximum power of 241.6bhp at 3800-4400rpm.The fuel efficiency of this vehicle is 12.08kmpl (ARAI Certified). Volkswagen Touareg features 4 corner air-suspensions with electronic shock absorption control, Cruise Control, Auto Hold, Electrically adjustable lumbar support for front seats, Automatic headlamp activation with ‘Coming home’ and ‘Leaving home’ function and Park distance control. The competition for the 2012 Volkswagen Touareg is heavy and the major challengers here comprise of Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes Benz R Class but, hopefully, the car will be able to outshine all of them.
22 March, 2013 : Nissan X-Trail , while being an excellent product, has not been able to fare quite as well as it has at the global level. Therefore, Nissan India has decided to phase out the X-Trail and will instead introduce 3 new SUVs into the market. Of these 3 SUVs, we already know the upcoming Nissan version of the Duster, where the front fascia is expected to be similar to that of the X-Trail. The Nissan Duster is expected to carry a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine and a 1.6-litre petrol engine. The second SUV will be a replacement of the X-Trail and will possibly be a 7-seater crossover with better styling to improve its sales. Lastly, we expect a B-segment compact SUV for which there have been no details so far.
October 23, 2013: Volvo, the Swedish luxury carmaker has introduced the updated XC60 crossover in the country for Rs. 40.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Like S60 sedan, the crossover also gets the new family look, better interiors, new features and slightly tweaked engine. It features a broader front facade with wider grille and restyled headlight assembly. The vehicle now sports a new multimedia system, a seven-inch touch screen and a new digital TFT instrument cluster with three modes. The automatic XC60 now has three spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters mounted on it. The other components added to the crossover are leather seats, LED daytime running light and dual exhaust tail pipe. It is being offered with eight different colours - Black Metallic, Electric Silver, Caspian Blue, Twilight Bronze, Flamenco Red Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, Bright Silver Metallic and Rich Java.
19 February, 2013 : Mercedes-Benz India launched the eagerly awaited G63 AMG at a price tag of Rs. 1.46 crore (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) . The new G63 AMG replaces the current G55 AMG however, much of the G-Wagen SUV remains similar in looks. The SUV does get a more aggressive look thanks to the new two-slat grille, revised bumper with larger air ducts, 20-inch wheels and other changes. In terms of mechanical changes, we see the new G63 AMG comes with a new 5.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine mated to a 7-speed 7Hg-tronic gearbox. This new powertrain belts out 544bhp. The G63 AMG does the 0-100 kmph run in a mere 5.4 seconds.
5th-Mar-2012: Land Rover Discovery 4, the car that was showcased in the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, was launched back in 2011. Land Rover has produced one million Land Rover Discovery cars across the globe, 23 years after Land Rover introduced its original model. Land Lover Discovery 4 sits between Range Rover and the rugged Defender. To celebrate its millionth vehicle made at UK plant, Land Rover launched ‘Journey of Discovery’. The Millionth and two other Discovery cars will be embarking on a 50-day, 8,000 mile 'Journey of Discovery' from its birthplace in Birmingham to Beijing in China which is one of Land Rover's fastest growing markets. The Land Rover Discovery can seat seven passengers, has a load space volume of up to 2,500 liters and is packed with technology including Land Rover's award-winning Terrain Response System. These vehicles will be travelling through 13 countries across Europe and Central Asia, culminating at the Beijing motor show on 23 April. This will help Land Rover in launching a fund raising project for supporting a much needed water sanitation project in Uganda.
9 August, 2012: To bag on the success of R 350 4Matic petrol version, Mercedes Benz has rolled out the diesel variant, Mercedes Benz R350 CDI 4MATIC with a price tag of Rs.58.59 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The CDI variant will be powered by a 2987cc V6 diesel engine that comes coupled with7G-TRONIC with 4WD transmission that gives a mileage of 11.25kmpl. The R 350 CDI 4MATIC is also adorned with LED daytime running lights, steel chassis with air suspension system in the rear to aid comfort and improve driving dynamics. The luxurious interiors boast of ample luggage space of 2385 liters. What makes Mercedes R 350 CDI 4Matic a viable option is that it offers the drivability pleasure of a saloon together with the flexibility of an MPV, also the car is fraught up with features like electrically adjustable telescopic steering wheel, Memory seats, three zone automatic climate control, air-conditioning for rear row passengers, six-disc CD changer and Universal media interface.
