    February 24, 2015 : Ford showcased the EcoSport S at the Geneva Motor Show. The SYNC with Ford AppLink is offered on the Titanium variant of Ford EcoSport and is made available across all dealership in the country. The compact SUV is offered with two petrol engine options, namely the 125bhp-1.0 litre three cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine, Fiesta's 110bhp-1.5 litre four cylinder mill, and a 90bhp-1.5 litre four cylinder TDCi turbocharged engine for the diesel variants.

The bidding for the army tender will begin soon and is to the tune of Rs 500- Rs 750 crore. Though the vehicles will be based on the existing platforms, they will be tweaked to service the purpose of the army with mods such as blackout lights, convoy lamps, provision for ammunition etc. Of the 15 manufacturers who participated it's only the home grown manufacturers who made it to the final trials.

    October 9, 2014: Nissan India silently launches Terrano Anniversary Edition; available in two variant starting with XV priced at Rs. 12,83,645 and XV Premium Rs. 13,13,725. The Japanese auto major commemorate first anniversary of its compact SUV Terrano by launching the 450 units of limited edition. Customers can only book this edition online and deliveries are expected within 15-20 days of booking. Speaking of the changes in the limited edition, it gets contrasting roof with rally stripes, chrome addition on door handles, muffler and tail gate entry guard.     March 16, 2015:  In order to add fresh feel to its Captiva SUV, General Motors India, today launched the 2015 model of the premium Sports Utility Vehicle at Rs 25.13 lac. The car comes with manual transmission while the automatic transmission model is priced at Rs 27.36 Lac. Like the previous model, the SUV will offer both 4x2 and 4x4 (AWD) driving modes. Under the hood, the car is powered by the tried and test 2.2-litre diesel engine which gives an impressive output of 186.5bhp at 3,800rpm and torque of 400Nm at 2,000rpm. The engine is either mated to 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox in the All Wheel Drive (AWD) model.

    November 7, 2014: Audi has revealed the 2015 Q3 facelift ahead of its public debut sometime early next year. The new Q3 has retained the overall design of the current model but features a new face and updated rear along with new shoes. Mechanically, the vehicle sports uprated engine meeting Euro 6 norms. Moreover, recently Audi India has added a new top-end variant in its Q3 SUV line-up for the Indian market.     December 08, 2014: Maruti Suzuki has received its single largest order to manufacture 4,000 units of its sports utility vehicle Gypsy from the Indian Army. Though the details about the financial value is still in wraps but assuming the ex-showroom price of Rs 5.42-5.96 lac, the order should be in the vicinity of Rs 216 to 238 crores.Up unitil now, Maruti Suzuki has manufactured close to 1,40,000 Gypsys for India and 22 per cent of these have been exclusively produced for the armed forces. Out of 4000 units, the company has already dispacted 2100 units over the past two months while the rest of the order will made in the next four to five months.

    March 31, 2015 : Ford has recently announced to launch a total of four vehicles in 2015. Under this strategy, the carmaker has already started testing the new Endeavour in the country. Earlier this month, Ford Asia pacific has released a new video to demonstrate the Endeavour \Everest’s new advance Terrain Management System. It will be the third product that will be launched by Ford India after the next-gen Ford Figo and its twin compact sedan.     March 31, 2015: Land Rover has made the most expensive and luxurious Ranger Rover yet, in partnership with its personalization department- Special Vehicles Operations (SVO). Named the SVAutobiography, the vehicle is set to make its world debut tomorrow at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and will replace the current Autobiography Black trim level.     December 16, 2013 :  BMW, the German luxury carmaker has officially revealed the 2014 BMW X1 ahead of its global unveiling at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show.     8th April, 2013The homegrown automaker, Premier has now launched the facelifted Rio (called as T200 there) in China recently, the similar vehicle is likely to make its Indian debut as well, however we are not sure about the timeline of the launch as of now.     February 28th, 2015: Suzuki announces that the new Vitara is the cleanest 4x4 SUV in the UK market with 111g/km CO2 emission (for the diesel model). The Vitara is going for sale starting this April in UK and is expected to enter India by early next year. Earlier in October 2014, Suzuki unveiled the new Vitara at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It is the production version of the IV-4 concept SUV. Vitara has ditched 'Grand' from its moniker and the new five door car is named 'Vitara' and it marks the return of the famous badge first used by Suzuki more than 25 years ago. Mechanically, Vitara is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6L petrol that belts out 118bhp and 156Nm of torque. Vitara diesel gets a 1.6 liter turbocharged motor that gathers 118bhp and 320Nm.     March 16, 2015: BMW has introduced the first plug-in hybrid production car from the BMW core brand, BMW X5 xDrive40e. The X5 xDrive40e is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and a synchronous electric motor, producing a total output of 313 hp. X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 3.4 – 3.3 litres per 100 kilometres and a combined electricity consumption of 15.4 – 15.3 kWh over the same distance. With 250 Nm of torque available on tap from standstill, the BMW X5 xDrive40e can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.   • New Skoda Yeti

    March 10, 2015: Skoda India has launched a limited period Yeti Zeal edition in the country. The Zeal edition looks radically different compared to the stock offering. It gets sporty all-black interiors featuring opulent Alcantara leather seats and black door trims. Earlier in September, 2014, Skoda introduced the new Yeti which now comes in two variants 4x2 and 4x4 and prices starts at Rs. 18.99 lakh for the base 4x2 and 4x4 at 20.5 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). Yeti features a new face and sports Bi-Xenon headlamps with day-time-running-LEDs while the rear gets new LED tail-lamp. Interiors remained same with subtle tweaks. Mechanically, Yeti has remained unchanged, the crossover SUV continues to carry the 2.0 liter TDI turbo diesel. The motor is tuned in two states of tune, 4x2 version comes with 108.5bhp (110PS) and 250Nm of torque mated to five speed manual while the 4x4 version gets 138.1bhp and 320Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

    June 4, 2014: Force Motors has finally announced the availability of Force Gurkha at their dealership from September 2014. The SUV is available in three variants - 2WD soft top priced at Rs 6.25 lakh, 4WD at Rs 8.35 lakh soft top and 4WD hard top at Rs 8.5 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The SUV still carries the same 2.6 litre Mercedes OM 616 derived turbo charged intercooled engine which develops a power of 81bhp and peak torque of 230 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5 speed synchromesh transmission. The SUV features some unique features such as differential locks on both front and rear axles, distinctive air intake “Snorkel” in sparkling chrome.

    December 02, 2014: Porsche India has introduced the updated Cayenne at a starting price of INR 1.04 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The luxury SUV comes in four variants namely the Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Diesel, Cayenne S and the range-topping Cayenne Turbo. Powering the Cayenne S is a new 420bhp-3.6-litre bi-turbo V6 engine. While the Cayenne diesel comes with 245bhp-3.0-litre V6 engine, and 385bhp-4.2-litre V8 engine gives force to the Cayenne S Diesel. Lat but not the least, the top of the line, Cayenne Turbo, comes equipped with mighty 520bhp-4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 mill.

    March 21, 2015: The fourth generation Skoda Superb is already revealed in Prague a month ago, so what's new now? Well, the "best Skoda ever" is now seen on the roads of Prague, capital city of Czech Republic. The new Superb first made its public debut at the 85th Geneva Motor Show, 2015. The saloon will be put on sale this summer in UK while Indian lovers of Czech manufacturer have to wait for next year.     August 28 , 2014 : BMW launched the facelift version of X3 at Rs 44.90 lakh for X3 xDrive20d Expedition model while X3 xDrive20d xLine is priced at Rs 49.90 lakh. The new BMW X3 adorns exterior updates such as chrome grille, redesigned bigger twin-circular headlamps, revised front and rear bumper, new taillamp cluster and new sporty alloy wheel design. The new BMW X3 ditches the xDrive30d model which was powered by 3.0-litre engine, but now the X3 SUV is only offered with 2.0-litre engine which develops a power of 190bhp.

    April 15, 2014 : Mercedes-Benz India today launched the GL63 AMG in India at Rs 1.66 Crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Apart from all the AMG traits, this seven seater car houses a 5.5-litre, twin-turbo, V8 AMG engine with belts out power of 557 bhp and torque of 760Nm. The engine is coupled to AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-TRONIC gearbox. The enormous 5.5-litre, V8 AMG engine enables the car to achieve 0 to 100 kmph in mere 4.9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The car is up against the likes of Range Rover Sport and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

    19 February, 2013 : Mercedes-Benz India launched the eagerly awaited G63 AMG at a price tag of Rs. 1.46 crore (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) . The new G63 AMG replaces the current G55 AMG however, much of the G-Wagen SUV remains similar in looks. The SUV does get a more aggressive look thanks to the new two-slat grille, revised bumper with larger air ducts, 20-inch wheels and other changes. In terms of mechanical changes, we see the new G63 AMG comes with a new 5.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine mated to a 7-speed 7Hg-tronic gearbox. This new powertrain belts out 544bhp. The G63 AMG does the 0-100 kmph run in a mere 5.4 seconds.

Land Rover has produced one million Land Rover Discovery cars across the globe, 23 years after Land Rover introduced its original model. Land Lover Discovery 4 sits between Range Rover and the rugged Defender. To celebrate its millionth vehicle made at UK plant, Land Rover launched ‘Journey of Discovery’. The Millionth and two other Discovery cars will be embarking on a 50-day, 8,000 mile 'Journey of Discovery' from its birthplace in Birmingham to Beijing in China which is one of Land Rover's fastest growing markets. The Land Rover Discovery can seat seven passengers, has a load space volume of up to 2,500 liters and is packed with technology including Land Rover's award-winning Terrain Response System. These vehicles will be travelling through 13 countries across Europe and Central Asia, culminating at the Beijing motor show on 23 April. This will help Land Rover in launching a fund raising project for supporting a much needed water sanitation project in Uganda.
