    04 April, 2013 : Audi India has finally launched the eagerly anticipated Audi R8 V10 Plus, which is now the top-end model in the new R8 line-up. The car was launched at the Buddh International Circuit and has been priced at Rs. 2.05 Crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi) . With the launch of the latest R8 V10 Plus model, the R8 line-up now consists of a total of three variants- R8 V8 Coupe, R8 V10 Coupe and R8 V10 Spyder, priced at Rs 1.34 Crore, Rs 1.57 Crore and Rs 1.73 Crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The latest entrant R8 V10 Plus houses a 5.2-litre, V10 engine that cranks out 550bhp along with 540Nm of peak torque. Mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox, the V10 Plus has the capability to touch the 0-100kmph mark in mere 3.5 seconds with a peak speed of 317kmph.

    25 February, 2013 : Lamborghini launched two new models of the Gallardo line-up in India along with organising a track day at the BIC to give customers an opportunity to drive the cars around the track. The newly launched LP560-4 and LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica are priced at Rs 2.61 crore and Rs 2.93 crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Gallardo LP 560-4 houses a 5.2-litre, V10 engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission churning out a maximum power output of 552bhp along with 540Nm of maximum torque. The Gallardo LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica is also powered by the same 5.2-litre, V10 engine but features the fixed high rear wing plus carbon-ceramic brakes to help the vehicle gets lighter in weight and better in durability.

    Japanese auto major Nissan has launched its long awaited sports car model Nissan 370Z in the Indian auto market. The Nissan 370Z is a two door; two seater compact sports car debuted in the US market in 2008 and is already available at overseas market and has gained a lot of popularity there because of its advanced features, high performance engine, sporty and stylish looks. With the launch of this stunning model, Nissan plans to make its position stronger in the luxury car segment which is currently dominated by BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The company has launched two variants of Nissan 370Z – one with manual transmission gearbox while another one will be equipped with automatic transmission gearbox. Nissan 370Z will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from the parent company thus hefty import taxes will lead its prices to high end. The manual transmission version will be priced at Rs 53.5 lacs while the automatic transmission version will be priced at Rs 54.5 lacs (as ex-showroom prices in New Delhi). According to the company official, they are expecting to sell more than 50 units of the Nissan 370Z in the Indian auto market over the next one year.

    5th-Jan-2011: BMW India has taken the best advantage of Auto Expo 2012 to launch its new M5 sports saloon at a pocket-tearing price Rs 95.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The blue color saloon looked extremely luxurious on the stage. M5 comes packed with a twin-turbo, 4.4-litre V8 engine that offers 552bhp and 69.4kgm of max torque. The engine is so powerful that it can hit 100kph in 4.4 seconds, and 200kph in 13sec, as claimed by BMW. The new M5 engine replaces the V10 and thus sees a 10 percent and 30 percent power and torque figures, respectively. The engine is mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch unit with steering-wheel-mounted paddle-shifters, which drives through a new Active M differential with electronically-controlled, multi-plate, limited-slip differential. Three gaping ducts to flow cool air into the radiator, oil cooler and turbochargers, 19-inch alloy wheels come as standard fitment in new car. Interiors are marked by M-tuned Servotronic steering. As compared to the single setting option on the earlier model, steering wheel buttons can now memorise two individual set-ups.

This powerful and mighty “Red Car” is driven by 4,499 cc V8 engine taken from the aesthetic design of Ferrari/Maserati. The V8 engine of Ferrari 458 Italia produces power of 570 PS at 9,000 rpm and generates a torque of 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm. The Ferrari 458 Italia features direct fuel injection system in its engine, which is a first in segment for Ferrari mid-rear engine setups in its road cars.

    In terms of transmission, Ferrari 458 Italia in India incorporates standard transmission of Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch, which is quite related to the Ferrari California.
