April 14, 2015 : HMIL is continuing to test the new gen Hyundai i20 WRC car, which will make its debut in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship. The focus was on the engine and chassis development, as well as altitude testing as the car has been upgraded compared to the version used in previous tests. The current vehicle will also get a series of further upgrades in a bid to help the team fight for podiums in the remaining rallies of 2015.
January 27, 2014 : MSIL has launched the limited edition version Swift Windsong VXI at Rs 5,14,973 and Windsong VDI at Rs 6,10,246 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The limited edition is only made available in two trims-VXI and VDI. The limited edition model embraces Sony Touchscreen Music System with Bluetooth & External Mic with USB connectivity, reverse parking sensors, rear upper roof spoiler, door sill guard with illumination and ambient interior lighting. The limited edition also gets designer groovy musical themed graphics on exterior, trendy seat covers and designer floor mats on interior. Mechanically, the car remains unchanged and features the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel and 1.2-litre K-Series VVT petrol engine.
April 24, 2015: Maruti Celerio , one of the most popular hatchbacks from MSIL's stable is in news again. The diesel version of the car has been caught by spycams again at company's Manesar stockyard, hinting towards its early launch. The latest spyshot reveals hundreds of Blue color Celerios standing up in queue. The car will be coming with a 793cc two-cylinder diesel engine that produces power output around 55bhp and max torque close to 150Nm. The diesel variant of this model is set to become the most fuel efficient car in the country and is expected to be priced in between INR 4.8 lac to 5.8 lac.
March 17, 2015: HMIL has launched its first ever crossover, the Hyundai i20 Active at Rs 6.38 lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The vehicle is based on carmaker's last-year introduced Elite i20, and goes up against the likes of Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo. Like any other crossover available currently, the Active also looks like a beefier version of its hatch counterpart with some noticeable changes on it. The car gets full-body black plastic cladding, redesigned bumpers incorporating hexagonal grille and large circular fog lamps, new skid plate, roof rails and projector head-lamps with daytime running lamps. Additionally, the new 16' inch diamond cut alloy wheels complements the overall rugged design well.

The car will first be launched in Japan on December 22, 2014 and then will make its way to other parts of the world. In terms of design, the front fascia of car gets kind of retro look with flat front and trapezoidal headlights. The new model is powered by 3-cylinder, 660cc petrol engine tuned to develop an output of 54bhp with 63Nm of torque. The engine is mated to five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. The company is also planning a sporty Turbo RS variant for this high octane model in coming months.
December 6, 2014 : As a part of its year-end sale, MSIL is offering benefits of upto INR 55,000 in its Maruti Wagon R hatchback. February 06, 2015: Hyundai UK has introduced a new ‘Premium SE’ trim to the existing line up of the second generation i10 (the vehicle in India is christened as Grand i10 ). The Premium SE variant is available in both manual and automatic trim, prices starts from £11,995 (approximately Rs. 11.35 lac) for manual and £12,650 (approximately Rs. 11.97 lac) for automatic. Earlier in September 2014, Hyundai India had introduced a ‘SportZ Edition’ of the Grand i10 to celebrate its first anniversary in the country. The Grand i10 was launched in September 2013 and it already has over 1.1 lakh happy owners in India. The Grand ‘SportZ Edition’ gets the 14-inch diamond cut alloy wheels as a standard, the other list of features include bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio and leather wrap on steering wheel, rear spoiler, B-Pillar blackout along with body graphics. December 24, 2014: Volkswagen has launched the first-ever petrol version of the Polo BlueMotion , ahead of first UK deliveries in March, with prices starting from £14,730. The Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion will be powered a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder BlueMotion TSI petrol engine that produces 95 PS of maximum power at 5,000-5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 118 Nm at 1,500-3,500 rpm. The 1.0-litre engine will be the greenest petrol engine in the range with 94 g/km CO2 emissions and 68.9 mpg fuel economy. The Polo Bluemotion comes with a styling pack which includes uniquely shaped front and rear bumpers, radiator grille, side skirts and rear roof spoiler, body coloured door handles, body coloured door mirrors with integrated indicators, front fog lights and static cornering function and unique BlueMotion badging.
March 23, 2015: Nissan is working on its budget-offering, Datsun Go , to strengthen its body shell in an attempt to make it more safe. To improve the company's product lineup the manufacturer will be using steel with higher tensile strength, around 520 megapascals which currently is 320 megapascals. December 17, 2014: Hyundai Motors is now planning to introduce its popular hatch i10 for the taxi market in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Painted in black and yellow, the cabs will soon start their services in the selected metro cities. The South Korean automaker is introducing i10 in the Mumbai taxi market at the time when the city is expected to see 7,843 permits up for grabs in upcoming six months.

April 8, 2015: Tata Bolt will be the Principal Sponsor of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the eighth season Indian Premier League. Apart from occupying the leading arm position on RCB' playing jersey, it will also be used to transport team personnel and get significant brand exposure at RCB's home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium. April 20, 2015 : Honda has hiked the prices of Brio by Rs 600. The increase in price is in accordance with the tax rationalisation in the Budget. April 22, 2015: Nissan's entry-level offering, Micra, was India's biggest model exported in 2014-15 with 76,120 units shipped overseas. It was followed by Hyundai Grand i10 with 63,585 units and the Volkswagen Vento with 56,064 units exported during the tenure. On the whole, India exported 6,22,470 vehicles in 2014-15, posting an increase of 4.42 percent over 2013-14. Hyundai still remains the country's top exporter with 1,91,221 vehicles shipped, followed by Maruti Suzuki at 1,21,701 units, just a tad ahead of this manufacturer, which exported 1,20,331 units.
April 20, 2015: Volvo Auto India has launched the petrol version of the V40 Cross Country at Rs 27 Lac (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). The vehicle is available in a single trim - V40 Cross Country T4 and is the new entry-level variant. The car will be retailed through Volvo dealerships across the country starting today. The new petrol motor of the V40 Cross Country T4 is a 1.6-liter GTDi (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) engine, putting out 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

March 11, 2015: Alongside the introduction of new B-Class, Mercedes-Benz India also took this opportunity to upgrade the diesel engine of its younger sibling, the A-Class. With the same engine as the B-Class, the A 200 CDI now provides an additional 25 percent power and 20 percent additional torque. April 13, 2015: The rumoured Abarth was recently spied in the country in Fiat Punto EVO's guise but with a 1.4-liter 135 bhp 206 Nm T-JET turbo petrol heart! May 8, 2013: BMW India that started the local production of Mini Cooper Countryman in India at its plant near Chennai, has now launched the diesel version of the car called the D. The company has rolled out two diesel versions, priced at Rs. 25.60 lakh and Rs. 28.9 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Diesel version becomes the first Mini model to have a diesel engine. The car will be brought in India via CKD and then assembled locally. The local assembly of the car has helped BMW to price the vehicle quite competitive.
March 16, 2015 : Mini has launched 3 Door Cooper S in India at Rs 34.65 lac (Ex-Showroom Pan India). The S variant is most powerful version of Copper model and is only available in three-door lineup. This series apart from minor cosmetic features red S badge in both the front and rear side, large air intakes and newly designed honeycomb front grille. The car will be sold in country en-route CBU (Completely Build Unit). Prior to this peppier launch, last year, the automaker had also launched the Cooper diesel in both three and five-door versions.
