September 2, 2014: Hyundai India is overwhelmed with the success of Elite i20 and there's every reason to be, Elite i20 garnered 15,300 bookings in mere 20 days of it's launch. Speaking about the pricing, the Elite i20 is priced at Rs. 4.89 lakh for base petrol while diesel starts at Rs 6.09 lakh (all Ex-Showroom New Delhi prices). Mechanically, the car remains unchanged apart from skimping the 1.4 liter petrol; on offer now is a 1.2-liter petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel unit. Petrol trims are mated to a five speed manual while diesel packs a sportier six-speed manual.
October 22, 2014: Maruti Suzuki has started taking bookings for the Swift facelift across the country and is expected to launch this month or by early November. There are no radical changes inside-out but it's likely to get an engine tuning and fuel efficiency is likely to go up. Speaking of the changes, reportedly major additions are getting driver seat height adjust across all the variants, engine start-stop and refreshed bumper with 'L' shaped chrome appliqué. October 21, 2014: Fiat has finally launched the much-awaited Avventura crossover in India at Rs. 5.99 Lakh. The Punto based pseudo crossover is available in three trim levels- Active, Dynamic and Emotion, while the petrol misses out the range-topping trim. Petrol variants of Avventura gets its power from a 1.4-litre Fire engine, while the trusted 1.3-litre Multijet does its duty under the hood of diesel variants. Both the powertrains are carried over from the Punto Evo hatchback without giving any revamp. Thus, the natural-aspirated petrol engine churns out 92bhp while the diesel is good for 89bhp, delivering thrust to front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel delivers claimed fuel economy of 20.5km/l while petrol model delivers 14.4km/l.
October 13, 2014: Second AMT model from Maruti Suzuki is launching soon; MSI is all set to introduce facelifted Alto K10 with an automated manual transmission. Seeing the success of Celerio, Alto K10 is coming in a new avatar along with Celerio borrowed AMT. Mechanically, the new K10 will carry forward the K series 998cc petrol motor churning out max power of 67.1bhp @ 6200rpm and a peak torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. Apart from the AMT, existing 5-Speed manual will be available on the new hatch. Fuel economy is likely to go up from outgoing car's 20.92km/l.
August 19, 2014: Maruti Suzuki's new 793cc diesel engine is all set to hit the Indian market. The Celerio is the first hatchback to get 0.8-litre diesel engine and at the moment it is undergoing its final stage of testing in Japan. The Celerio and a new commercial vehicle from Suzuki will be available with this new diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with three trims, LDi, VDi and ZDi. The VDi will come with an option of ABS too. This is Suzuki's first in-house developed diesel engine and it will be the smallest diesel engine in India. The 793cc diesel engine will churn about 50bhp of power and it will be coming with common rail diesel technology.

September 3, 2014: Hyundai is celebrating its first anniversary of Grand i10 and to mark the occasion, the Korean car maker has introduced the ‘SportZ Edition’. The Grand i10 was launched in September 2013 and it already has over 1.1 lakh happy owners in India. The Grand ‘SportZ Edition’ gets the 14-inch diamond cut alloy wheels as a standard, the other list of features include bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio and leather wrap on steering wheel, rear spoiler, B-Pillar blackout along with body graphics. September 22, 2014: Maruti Suzuki has launched a Limited Edition of its Wagon R hatchback. Named as Wagon R Krest, the special variant comes with some minor tweaks. While the interiors features new seat covers, steering wheel cover and carpet floor mats. The limited edition model also comes with a keyless central locking.
September 15,2014: Ford India has launched a refreshed Ford Figo ahead of the festive season, the new hatch starts at Rs. 3.87 lakh for petrol and Rs. 4.83 lakh for diesel (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). July 15, 2014: Volkswagen India has finally launched the much-awaited 2014 Polo facelift in India with a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh. Following the showcasing at the Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer has finally refreshed its premium hatch after its Indian debut about five years back. The car comes with an engine option of 1.2 MPi in petrol model and 1.5 TDI in diesel model. The automaker will launch the GT variants at the end of this month. Volkswagen Polo now sports Airbags as a standard feature while the ABS is available in all the models except the base variant.

May 6, 2014 : Honda has recalled 15,623 units of non-ABS variants of Brio that were manufactured from February 28, 2013 to January 16, 2014. The motive behind this recall is to examine and correct the faulty proportioning valve which is responsible for distributing pressure to the wheels. Customers can get their Brio checked for free by enrolling their 17-character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) on the company's website. Also, the customers will be contacted individually. The faulty parts, if found will then be replaced at the Honda dealerships for free of cost across the country.
October 10, 2014: Adding another leaf to its crown, Chevrolet Beat reaches the magical sales figure of 1 million sales across the globe. 26 February, 2013 : Japanese automaker, Suzuki Motor Corporation is promising to launch a new version of the Alto Eco (known as Maruti Suzuki A-Star in India), that will hand out a mileage of 33kmpl; an improvement over the mileage of its current version and also higher than Toyota Prius hybrid's claimed 32.6 kmpl. The company plans to launch the Alto Eco on the 4th of March, 2013 globally.
October 14, 2014: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. has launched a minor facelifted version of the Etios Liva hatch at a starting price of Rs. 4.76 lakh for petrol and Rs. 5.94 lakh for diesel. Highlighted changes at the front - Liva comes with a new body colored grille, electrically adjustable ORVMs, chrome inserts on door handles. Speaking of the changes inside, refreshed Etios Liva sports a new premium fabric upholstery; updated instrumentation cluster with a larger multi-info LCD display; seatbelt, door ajar and headlamp buzzer. June 14, 2014: With piling stock and to manufacture upcoming festive season editions, Tata motors have temporarily haulted the production of their cherished model, Tata Nano at Sanand plant. As per the official words from company, they are retooling the facility to produce the festive season special Nano. Earlier, a revamped version of Nano was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo 2014, held at Delhi. The restyled Nano comes with an openable boot lid. It features an automatic-manual transmission, the F-Tronic gearbox. With changes in style and appearance, the model comes with revamped bumpers, round fog lamps, new black grill and tweaked headlamps. This updated version will also come in a diesel variant.

August 1, 2014: BMW has launched a limited edition of the company's most economical offering - 1 Series M Performance Edition at a starting price of INR 22.65 lakh; only 111 units of this special edition will be made. The direct competitor of this spruced-up BMW luxury hatch will be the recently launched special edition of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class - A Class Edition one. May 8, 2013: BMW India that started the local production of Mini Countryman in India at its plant near Chennai, has now launched the diesel version of the car called the Countryman D. The company has rolled out two diesel versions- the Countryman and Countryman high, priced at Rs. 25.60 lakh and Rs. 28.9 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Countryman Diesel becomes the first Mini model to have a diesel engine. The car will be brought in India via CKD and then assembled locally. The local assembly of the car has helped BMW to price the vehicle quite competitive.
