December 1, 2014: Maruti Suzuki has recalled 3,796 units of its recently launched mid-sized sedan Ciaz to replace a faulty part of clutch operation system, manufactured till 7 November. The inspection and replacement will be done free of cost, and the dealers across the country have already started contacting the owners of impacted vehicles. For self checking, Ciaz customers can fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) in the MSI's official website 'www.marutisuzuki.com' to ascertain if their sedan is among the above mentioned vehicles or not.
September 20, 2014: To boost the sales ahead of festive season, Maruti Suzuki has brought the Swift DZire Regalia Limited Edition. New to the features are the Signature Leather Wrinkled Seat Covers, Attractive body graphics, reverse parking sensor, designer floor mats and interior styling kits. By opting this accessory kit, customers can save upto Rs 5010, as the Regalia Limited Edition Kit is worth Rs 13,800 while otherwise it would cost Rs 18,810. Furthermore, the competition in the compact sedan is increasing day by day and so Maruti Suzuki is now planning to bring the facelift of Swift DZire. The upgraded Swift DZire will now embrace majority of cosmetic upgrades such as increased chrome work with bold chrome slat at the front. Powering the DZire is the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines.
December 1, 2014: Honda City is again gloating on the sales chart with over 7000 units sold last month. Shifting of production from Greater Noida to the company's new manufacturing plant in Tapukara, Alwar has decreased the waiting period of the City. November 10, 2014: India's most fuel efficient compact sedan Honda Amaze gardens another achievement under its brand by getting its name written in Guinness World Record books in the category of ‘Longest journey by a car in a single country'. Honda has sold more than 1,00,000 units of Amaze and to celebrate this achievement, the company initiated the Honda Amazingly Indian campaign’. The car was launched in April last year and since then it has been a huge success for the Japanese manufacturer. Honda Amaze is the company's first car to be launched with a diesel engine. The car carries a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine and churns a power of 98.6bhp while the petrol model houses 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which develops a power of 86.8bhp.
November 26, 2014: The latest offering from Tata Motors - Zest, is getting an overwhelming response from prospective buyers as the compact sedan now attracts a waiting period of six months. December 10, 2014: Skoda India under the Great Online Shopping Festival (A Google Initiative) is offering free Garmin portable navigation with reverse camera on the first 50 bookings of Rapid sedan. The Rapid facelift houses the fuel efficient 1.5-litre TDI diesel and 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine. Both petrol and diesel engine churns a power of 103.5bhp. Tagged as the most affordable DSG offering automatic sedan in India, Rapid automatic range starts from Rs 10.34 lakh. The vehicle will compete against Vento and Verna in the automatic versions.
November 29, 2014: Hyundai India has started testing the face-lifted Verna , the sedan is expected to launch early next year. As per the undisguised images, the facelifted Verna is similar to the one Hyundai launched in Russia known as Solaris there. The car has been introduced in Russia couple of months ago. Mechanically, it gets the same motors while the petrol version gets a new 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic compared to current one's ancient 4-speed auto; expect similar alternations on the Indian update. Diesel version is also likely to get this 6-speed AT.
November 27, 2014: After launching A3 sedan in India at a price tag of Rs 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), the German luxury manufacturer is all set to launch the A3 Cabriolet version in India on 11th December. Both the cars were showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The cabriolet and sedan offers bi-xenon headlamps with daytime-running LEDs, S-line body kit, retro-styled air vents and 7-inch infotainment screen, that pops out of the dash. September 17, 2014: Hyundai India has appointed the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador for it's compact sedan - Hyundai Xcent. December 2, 2014: Toyota is offering special scheme on the diesel variant of the current-gen Corolla Altis . The Japanese automaker is offers genuine accessories worth Rs 35,000 on the Altis in its Remember December offer. Couple of days earlier, Toyota has recalled 5,834 units of Corolla Altis (10th generation Corolla) in India, produced in between June 15, 2010 and May 23, 2011. The recall is to replace a faulty component that prevents oil entering into the air intake system. July 3, 2014: Nissan India drive-in the 2014 Nissan Sunny facelift at a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). December 5, 2014: In the month of December, Chevrolet is offering benefits of upto INR 55,000 on its recently-updated Sail series (hatchback and sedan). Powering the updated offerings are a 1.3 litre SDE SMARTECH turbocharged diesel engine and a locally developed 1.2 litre SMARTECH petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 74bhp of maximum power at 4,000rpm and peak torque generated is 190Nm from 1,750rpm. December 10, 2014: Continuing with the offers on the Figo-Classic-duo, Ford India is offering special benefit in Goggle's Great Online Shopping Festival - GOSF -2014. November 21, 2013 : Skoda India has launched a new base 1.8 Ambition petrol model of new Octavia sedan at Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) . The bookings for the new trim are on, while the deliveries will start from January 2014. The new model costs around Rs. 2 lakh lesser than the Elegance trim. The new model looses out on some features such as LED daytime running lamps, rear declid spoiler, corner function with front fog lights, tyre pressure monitoring, headlight washer, side and curtain airbags, panoramic sunroof, 12-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, cruise control and others. Under the hood, the new model gets the same 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 177.6bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.
December 10, 2014: On the 2014 Ford Fiesta, Ford India is offering special benefits upto Rs. 73,000 in the Goggle's Great Online Shopping Festival - GOSF -2014. The offer is valid only on bookings made in-between 10th-12th December 2014. October 4, 2014: Renault is offering its flagship sedan with extra two years warranty along with free road side assistance for 4 years in this festive month. December 17, 2014: Hyundai has showcased hybrid version of the next-gen Sonata yesterday in Seoul. Hyundai has bettered the 2015 Sonata Hybrid both in terms of efficiency and performance. October 19, 2013: Tata Motors, India's leading car maker is all set to launch the next generation Manza CS compact sedan in the country by early 2014. The vehicle is expected to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, where the company will also present the 2014 Indica Vista. The front end of the vehicle is likely to be inspired by the Manza hybrid, which was showcased at the last year's auto show. The notchback gets a more aggressive front, which features a new headlights and bumper with triangular airdams. The new Manza CS will be positioned between the mid-size Manza sedan and Indigo eCs. It will be available in both petrol and diesel engine guise - a 1.2-litre XETA petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Multi-jet diesel engine.
December 15, 2014: Skoda has released the very first sketch of the India bound third generation 2015 Superb. The Czech Republic automaker's flagship sedan will make its public debut in mid-February in Prague and will go on sale from mid-2015. Earlier in February this year, Skoda introduced the updated version of the Superb model at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. With changes done to the front and rear, it is priced at Rs. 18.87 lakhs (ex-showroom- Delhi) and comes with several new features like new butterfly grille, redesigned bumper, new bonnet, Octavia-like bumper, new headlamps and tail-lamps with integrated daytime running LED’s and a new set of alloys. It has also been updated with a push button start and a new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, Adaptive Front Light System, Hill Hold Control, eight airbags, three-point safety belts and height-adjustable headrests. Its engine configuration is the same - a 1.8-litre TSI petrol(158bhp) and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel (138bhp). The price of the variants range from Rs. 18.87 lakhs to Rs. 25.20 lakhs.
March 4, 2014: Fiat India has finally launched the facelifted version of its saloon Linea at Rs.6.99 lakh, (Ex-showroom Delhi). The car that first saw the day light back in 2009 was getting minor updates from past four years, but today, the company has launched its major facelift version. The facelift version has already been showcased at the recently concluded 2014 Auto Expo. Fiat has provided all the bells and whistles in a very economical way. Even the base variant of T-Jet now comes with features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and four disc brakes to name a few.
November 18, 2014: Toyota celebrates first anniversary of Camry Hybrid in the country, the Japanese automaker says that 541 units of Camry Hybrid are sold since last year and Hybrid hold nearly 75 per cent of total Camry sales. Moreover, couple of days ago, Toyota has recalled 119 units of Camry in India which are manufactured and imported from Japan in between March and July 2011, due to a faulty front suspension. September 2, 2013: Hindustan Motors has now finally announced the pricing for its newly introduced BS IV compliant Ambassador, named 'Encore'. The Ambassador Encore has been priced at Rs. 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Kolkata) , while the bookings too have started from today. Now with the launch of Encore, HM will be able to sell the product in the 17 Metro cities where BS III complaint cars were banned in April 2010. The major upgrade given to the car is the improvement in 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is now matches to BS IV standards and OBD 2 level. The company has rolled out the product under the no-refusal taxi segment. Buyers in the replacement taxi segment will be given more reduction in the announced price.

December 18, 2014: Mercedes-Benz India will launch the CLA sedan on January 20th. The offering is the regular version of performance-oriented CLA 45 AMG, which made its entry in July this year. The CLA will be positioned below the recently launched C-Class and will primarily compete against the cheapest Audi in the country, the A3 sedan. Based on the familiar MFA (Mercedes Front-wheel drive Architecture) platform, that underpins all the front-wheel drive products from Mercedes, the car will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, right from the beginning, unlike the C-Class.
September 25, 2013: The Italian carmaker, Fiat has launched the affordable Linea Classic in the Indian car market for Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Linea Classic is available in both diesel and petrol options. While, the petrol version is powered by the same 1.4-litre mill that develops 88bhp, the diesel model gets a detuned 1.3-litre Multijet engine that churns out 75bhp. Fiat Linea Classic is now available in three variants- a 1.4L Petrol Classic, a 1.3L Multijet Classic and a 1.3L Multijet Classic+. It will compete against the likes of Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Chevrolet Sail, Nissan Sunny, Ford Fiesta Classic and others.
