May 12, 2015: Maruti Suzuki today announces that they have rolled out 15 millionth car. And became the first automaker in the country to do the same! The 15 millionth car was a Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire VDi (Chassis No. MA3FJEB1S00740865) rolled out from the Company's Manesar manufacturing facility. Earlier in February, MSIL has silently launched the facelifted Maruti Swift Dzire at Rs 5.07 lac while the ZDi (diesel top variant) costs Rs 7.81 lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The most selling compact sedan from India's largest passenger car seller is now offered with four new eye-catching shades in both petrol and diesel models. On the exterior, the car now gets single-chrome slat grille, smoked headlamps, chrome inserts on log lamps, redesigned bumpers and new set of alloy wheels. While as seen in its bigger sibling, this vehicle too gets start-stop button, reverse parking sensors, rear power socket, electrically adjustable folding mirrors and a new music system.
April 13, 2015: HCIL has launched the new VX(O) variant in its most successful Honda City lineup in both petrol and diesel fuel trim. This new variant is positioned over the existing VX grade and is available in manual transmission. The new VX(O) model features an advanced integrated touchscreen audio visual navigation (AVN), something which was missing in this sedan. The company has also added a new premium color - White Orchid Pearlin in the line-up. Recenlty the latest 4th generation car has become the fastest to achieve 1 lac sales mark in a matter of just 15 months. This sedan have registered 1,01,299 units of cumulative sales since its launch. This vehicle with its 1.5L i-DTEC has enabled the maker to enter the diesel segment and have done fortunes for the company. Notably, Amaze was the first car to get this engine.
April 20, 2015: HCIL has hiked the prices of its compact sedan by Rs 800. The increase in price is in accordance with the tax rationalization in the Budget. Recently, the automaker has launched new Petrol/ CNG bi-fuel version of its compact sedan, christened as Honda Amaze 1.2 S MT Plus. Priced at INR 6.54 Lacs (including CNG kit installation), the new variant is available from today onwards in the cities where the alternative fuel is on offer. The new variant has been specially tuned to run on CNG, the suspension has been tweaked, and a specially prepared wiring harnesses to ensure high level of quality, has been added.
February 18, 2015 : Hyundai has finally launched the new Fluidic 4S Verna at Rs 7.73 lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) while the diesel model is priced at Rs 8.94 lac. The 4S (which stands for Style, Safety, Sophistication and Speed) the front fascia features wind shaped grille with twin salted chrome linings, redesigned front bumper and new fog light housings. While the rear gets slightly redesigned tail lamps along with a reworked bumper which now incorporate reflectors at each end finish up the design changes. On the safety front the car offers ABS as standard safety feature while the top variant gets six airbags, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps.
January 27, 2015: Maruti Suzuki has introduced the anticipated top-end Z+ trims of the Ciaz , the ZXI+ (Petrol) costs Rs. 9.81 Lac while the ZDI+ (Diesel) costs Rs. 10.37 Lac (All Ex-Showroom Prices New Delhi). The Z+ trims carries forward the goodies from the Z trims and adds a 7-inch touch screen 'SmartPlay' infotainment system with voice commands and navigation along with leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels. Earlier in December, the company has recalled 3,796 units of this sedan to replace a faulty part of clutch operation system, manufactured till 7 November. The inspection and replacement will be done free of cost, and the dealers across the country have already started contacting the owners of impacted vehicles. For self checking, its customers can fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) in the MSI's official website 'www.marutisuzuki.com' to ascertain if their sedan is among the above mentioned vehicles or not.
March 10th, 2015: Tata Zest is once again in news as the compact sedan has been launched in a new top of the line automatic variant at Rs. 8.07 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). The XTA diesel AMT variant now comes equipped with all the features that were missing in the mid-range XMA variant. The new trim flaunts LED daytime running lights on the exterior front while interiors are also beefed up with Harmon touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking sensors, automatic climate control and height adjustable driver's seat. Safety is strengthened with dual airbags and rear defogger.
September 17, 2014: Hyundai India has appointed the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador for it's compact sedan - Hyundai Xcent. Hyundai has also launched a new TV commercial for the Xcent featuring SRK, depicting their philosophy 'multiply your life'. Shah Rukh Khan has been endorsing Hyundai's product from the past 16 years, from Santro's to i10 and now Xcent. March 2, 2015: This March, Toyota Kirloskar Motor India is offering Etios sedan diesel variants with TGA - Toyota’s Genuine Accessories worth Rs. 20,000, in their Holi offer. Earlier in January 2015, this company has announced that its subsidiary Toyota do Brasil LTDA plans to increase annual "Etios " vehicle production at its Sorocaba Plant in São Paulo from 74,000 units to 108,000 units. The increase, which is scheduled to come into effect at the beginning of 2016, is aimed to meet increased demand for the vehicle series in Brazil, and will involve additional investment of around 100 million Brazilian real. When launched in September 2012 in Brazil, the sales of this model series ranged between 2,000 and 3,000 units per month. Thanks to the constant improvements with features such as new seat upholstery, seat height adjusters, new variants such as “Cross” and expansion of network to a total of 54 new dealerships and satellite stores have resulted in increase in sales that have now reached between 6,000 and 7,000 units.
March 10, 2015: Skoda India has launched a limited period Rapid Zeal edition in the country. it offers beige Alcantara and leatherette seat upholstery, navigation device that couples up as a reverse parking camera screen, Parktronics - rear parking sensors, an observation mirror and floor textile mats. It is available in all the color options and with both 1.6 MPI petrol engine and the new 1.5 TDI oil burner and along with both the manual and automatic transmissions.
March 23, 2015: Images from Russia has revealed the upcoming Vento facelift entirely. The vehicle is expected to launch around the festive season in the country. Moreover, starting this month, Volkswagen India has introduces a special edition of the new ‘Magnific'. July 3, 2014: Nissan India drive-in the 2014 Sunny facelift at a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The sedan features various stylistic updates, while mechanically it remains unchanged. The front fascia of the vehicle sports complete overhaul, while rear features subtle changes. On the inside, the new nodel features a new steering wheel (borrowed from the Terrano), new Piano Black central console sporting a 5.1-inch infotainment system with built-in navigation and Bluetooth. April 20, 2015 : Hyundai India has launched the facelift version of Elantra in the price range of Rs 14.13 lac to Rs. 16.67 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). With no mechanical changes, the updates are only cosmetics. The 2015 Elantra now features projector headlamps with LED Guide Light, new 10 spoke 16 inch alloy wheels, LED effect rear combination lamps & and chrome tipped exhaust. November 27, 2014: After launching Audi A3 sedan in India at a price tag of Rs 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), the German luxury manufacturer is all set to launch the Cabriolet version in India on 11th December. Both the cars were showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The cabriolet and sedan offers bi-xenon headlamps with daytime-running LEDs, S-line body kit, retro-styled air vents and 7-inch infotainment screen, that pops out of the dash. The car also features a dual-zone climate control, MMI touch and MMI navigation, rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags and Milano leather upholstery.
April 22, 2015: Toyota has revealed Corolla Altis for the first time outside Japan at the on-going 2015 Auto Shanghai in China. The vehicle will be manufactured by Toyota FAW joint venture and will be launched in the Chinese market by second half of this year. Earlier last week, Axio and Fielder have been awarded top ASV+ (Advanced Safety Vehicle) rating from the JNCAP Preventive Safety Performance Assessment in Japan. The achievement has been attributed in part to the first-ever commercial deployment of the newly developed Safety Sense C collision avoidance support package in the cars. The Preventive Safety Performance Assessment focuses on collision prevention and impact damage reduction capabilities, as well as lane departure detection and warning capabilities.
December 5, 2014: Chevrolet Cruze , which recently got a facelift in India, is being offered with year-end benefits upto INR 60,000. December 5, 2014 : In the month of December, Chevrolet is offering benefits of upto INR 55,000 on its recently-updated Sail series (hatchback and sedan). Powering the updated offerings are a 1.3 litre SDE SMARTECH turbocharged diesel engine and a locally developed 1.2 litre SMARTECH petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 74bhp of maximum power at 4,000rpm and peak torque generated is 190Nm from 1,750rpm. While petrol mill puts out 82bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 108.5Nm at 5,000rpm.
January 22, 2015: Mercedes Benz today launched its much anticipated CLA-Class in the country with a starting price tag of Rs 31.50 Lacs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The German car manufacturer has already launched this model's performance-oriented version, the 45 AMG last year. This model is positioned below the recently launched C-Class and will primarily compete against the cheapest Audi in the country, the A3 sedan. Based on the familiar MFA (Mercedes Front-wheel drive Architecture) platform, that underpins all the front-wheel drive products from the company. This series is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, right from the beginning, unlike the C-Class. The new saloon offers two engine options, namely a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.1 litre diesel.
February 17, 2015 : Volkswagen today launched the updated Jetta in India. Priced from INR 13.87 lacs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), this is not the next-generation model, but only a facelift with some minor tweaks.The most significant changes on the new model series are upfront. Its front fascia now incorporates a Passat-like three-slat chrome front radiator grille, a new bumper incorporating a larger air intake along with the Bi-Xenon headlamp units with brand’s Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS). The engine options on the new model remains identical, that means it will continue to be powered by the 120 bhp- 1.4-litre TSI petrol and 138bhp- 2.0-litre TDi diesel powerunits. Even the gearbox choices are left untouched, with a 6-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic (DSG) transmission (diesel only) will continue to transfer power to the front wheels.
February 25, 2015: Renault India has reportedly put a temporary stop on the production of its Scala sedan and Pulse hatchback, citing low demands of these models in the country. As per the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the company hasn’t rolled out this model from the facility since 183 units were manufactured in May last year, while the last batch of the Pulse was made in October, accounting for mere 59 units. The company most likely will launch the facelifts for both the models and once the refreshed models will arrive in the market, the production is expected to get back its pace again. This company offers this series with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options, while the Pulse is being offered with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel mills.
March 10, 2015: Skoda India has launched a limited period Octavia Zeal edition in the country. The Zeal edition looks radically different compared to the stock offering. It gets sporty all-black interiors featuring opulent Alcantara leather seats and black door trims. Earlier last month, the Czech Automaker has announced a new hotter special version of the already burning RS TSI - RS 230. This version debuted at on-going 85th Geneva Motor Show. The RS special edition’s market launch is set for June 2015 in Europe. Speaking of the Indian launch, this company in India has not hinted towards the introduction of vRS range in India as of now, although they used to sell their hotter vRS cars in India earlier.
April 3, 2015: Ford's C-segment sedan is expected to revive its presence with the 6-speed powershift transmission mated to 1.5 Ti-VCT 112PS petrol. The same would be a Dual Clutch Transmission, enabling faster and smoother shifts. This model's petrol and DCT versions were discontinued back in June 2014 after the introduction of the facelift version. Earlier when this model was up for sale the 6-Speed DCT gearbox came with super robust technology of dry sump lubrication that offered maintenance free operation for several years. Fiesta with its DCT will be competing against Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, VW Vento & Skoda Rapid, all automatic variants.
April 17, 2015: Ford Motor India will be discontinuing the Fiesta Classic , now known as Classic. This attempt will clear the path for the upcoming Figo Aspire that is slated for launch in few months. Mechanically, this series is powered by a 1.4 liter TDCI turbo diesel engine and a punchier 1.6 liter naturally aspirated petrol, both the engines are mated to a five speed manual transmission.
April 30, 2015: Toyota has launched the facelifted Camry and its hybrid derivative at INR 28.80 & INR 31.92 lacs respectively in India. Showcased at last year's Moscow International Motor Show, refreshments on this new model are just the cosmetic ones, while the powertrain has been left unchanged. In terms of exterior changes, the new series gets a redesigned grille with a strip of chrome on top of it, LED-infused headlamps, large air intakes, chrome-surrounded rectangular shaped fog-lamps, new tail lamps and 10-spoke alloy wheels. No changes have been made under the bonnet. The new model series continues to be propelled by the same 2.5-litre petrol engine, good for 160 PS and 213 Nm of peak torque. While in combination with an electric motor for the hybrid version, the max output jumps to 205 PS and peak torque stands at 233 Nm.

March 25, 2015: In line with its 15 in ‘15 launch strategy, Mercedes-Benz India today launched the E400 Cabriolet in India alongside the CLS facelift. To be sold through the CBU route in the country, the car will serve more as a halo product (than a volume seller) in the company’s line-up.he E-Class sedan is anyhow a good looking car, but in this Cabriolet form it looks even better. It is powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder (V6) turbo-petrol motor, that puts maximum power of 328 bhp at 5,250 - 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 480 Nm between 1,200 - 4,000 rpm that’s routed via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The cabriolet, according to the company, does a 0-100 kmph stint in just 5.3 seconds.
September 29, 2014: The Hrithik-Katrina starrer Bang Bang will feature stylish red Volvo S60 R-Design as their ride in the flick. May 22, 2015: Fiat has revealed Aegea sedan at the on-going 2015 Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey. Though the Italian automaker has not confirmed that whether this sedan would be the Linea successor or not, but this is most likely to replace Linea. FIAT Chrysler Automobiles promises that Aegea is developed from scratch rather than derived from a hatch. Moreover, it will go on sale from November in Turkey and later in over 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Speaking of India, Fiat did not confirm the arrival of Aegea in India but it is expected that this vehicle will replace the slow-selling Linea in the country.
March 19, 2014: The company has tied up with the Sharad Shakari Bank which will assist Mahindra customers to avail car loans and finance for commercial vehicles at any branch of the Bank across the country. With this alliance, Mahindra customers wil have access to priviliged services of the utility major. Earlier, Mahindra & Mahindra, the popular Indian auto-maker unveiled the Verito Electric car at the last month's New Delhi Auto Expo. The cosmetic appearance of the Verito Electric is as same as the Verito petrol, but mechanically it has new 39 bhp AC motor that can run up to 100 kilometres in one charge. September 25, 2013: The Italian carmaker,Fiat has launched the affordable Linea Classic in the Indian car market for Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) . It is available in both diesel and petrol options. While, the petrol version is powered by the same 1.4-litre mill that develops 88bhp, the diesel model gets a detuned 1.3-litre Multijet engine that churns out 75bhp. This is now available in three variants- a 1.4L Petrol Variant, a 1.3L Multijet trim and a 1.3L Multijet Classic+. It will compete against the likes of Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Chevrolet Sail, Nissan Sunny, Ford Fiesta Classic and others.
