November 25, 2013: Honda City fourth generation has been finally unveiled, and this celebrated sedan gets an overwhelming response and anticipation. It has arrived in both petrol and diesel engine- 1.5-litre i-VTEC and 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine. It bounds to its 'Man Maximum and Machine Minimum' philosophy clubbed with advance techniques that has made the interiors more spacious than before. June 6, 2013: Japanese carmaker Honda Cars India that launched its first diesel car Amaze in India in April, has now hiked its prices by upto Rs. 8,000. Honda had revised the prices of City, Brio and Accord in April only, has now in the second price hike phase also increased the prices of CR-V. The CR-V prices have now gone up by Rs. 6,000-14,000, depending upon the variant. Honda Amaze has been doing quite decent for the company, in May 2013 sales, the Amaze accounted for more than half of the company's total sales, which helped Honda achieve the no. 4 position in the Indian car market.
May 2, 2013: India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki celebrated the fifth anniversary of its flagship compact sedan, Swift Dzire in style. MSI invited over 62 customers with their familes to take part in Mumbai. The Dzirable Mileage Rally celebration was held in 31 cities across the country last weekend. Mr. Gurdeep singh was given the crown for achieving the best mileage of 45.8kmpl in the diesel category, while Mr. Shrirang Chindarkar won in the petrol category by achieving 42.1kmpl mileage.
24 May, 2012 : Hyundai Verna Fluidic has spent more than a year on Indian roads and the growth curve for this modernistic sedan has been tremendous. According to Hyundai officials, Verna is the segment leader among C segment cars in India, thanks to its top notch fit and finish and futuristic design. In another attempt to push sales, Hyundai will bless the sedan with automatic gearbox option with the trim version of Hyundai Verna 1.6 Litre Diesel. By providing automatic transmission, Hyundai will remove airbag and alloy wheels from the variant, which in turn will cut down the price from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75000. As of now , Hyundai India is offering four speed automatic transmission in Verna’s top end SX (O) variant. Also, the carmaker is offering reversing camera (usually offered on high-end cars) as standard across all the variants. The camera works only when the reverse gear is active and helps in parking mostly. This is a much better feature compared to reverse parking sensors present in rival cars.
October 19, 2013: Volkswagen India that launched the Vento TSI, has now launched the Vento "Corporate Edition" accessory pack in the Indian car market. The accessory pack can be installed to all the variants of the sedan. The accessory pack is available free of costs, and comes equipped with eight additional features including Alloy wheels, trunk spoiler, mud flaps, door protection, window chrome set, navigation system with rear view camera, seat covers and door step garnish. The Volkswagen Vento is available in both petrol and diesel versions - 105PS, 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 105PS, 1.6-litre diesel engine. The petrol model is available in both five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel model only available in a 5-speed manual gearbox.
November 21, 2013: Skoda India has launched a new base 1.8 Ambition petrol model of new Octavia sedan at Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The bookings for the new trim are on, while the deliveries will start from January 2014. The new model costs around Rs. 2 lakh lesser than the Elegance trim. The new model looses out on some features such as LED daytime running lamps, rear declid spoiler, corner function with front fog lights, tyre pressure monitoring, headlight washer, side and curtain airbags, panoramic sunroof, 12-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, cruise control and others. Under the hood, the new model gets the same 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 177.6bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.
October 16, 2013: Skoda India has silently introduced the 2014 Rapid in India, and now it is priced at Rs. 8.04 lakh (ex-showroom. Delhi) for the base Ambition Plus 1.6 MT. The updated Rapid sedan is now available in two trim lines only- Ambition Plus and Elegance. The Ambition Plus model gets dual front airbags, ABS, a new music system with USB, AUX-in, MP3, SD card slot and bluetooth telephone connectivity, steering mounted audio controls and others. The Elegance model receives all the above features along with with the projector headlights. The new Rapid is powered by the same 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine that develops 104bhp, 153Nm and 104bhp, 250Nm, respectively. While the petrol model gets both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission, the diesel model only gets five-speed manual option.
September 11, 2013: In order to celebrate the second anniversary of the Etios brand in India, Toyota has introduced Etios Xclusive Editions in the country. Xclusive Edition is offered on the mid G Variant of the car with three paint shade options- white, grey and silver. Other than the regular features offered on the G Trim, the Xclusive Edition gets rear parking sensor, a bluetooth equipped audio system, premium seat fabric, chrome gear knob and 'Xclusive' badge on the boot-lid.

October 24, 2013: Nissan India has silently introduced the Sunny XV diesel Special Edition in the Indian car market via its official website. It has been priced at Rs. 9.86 lakh, which costs around Rs. 56,000 more than the regular XV diesel model. The vehicle gets some additional features while the mechanics of the saloon remains the same. The Sunny Special Edition gets premium leather seats, reverse parking sensors, chrome finish exhaust and rear spoiler. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 85bhp and 200Nm of top torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels of the sedan via five speed manual transmission.
October 24, 2013: General Motors India has silently introduced the refurbished Chevrolet Cruze premium saloon in the country. The company has updated its official website and Facebook fan page, and it has been priced at Rs. 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Cruze gets new bumpers, new Bezel headlamps, spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels, which makes it look more aggressive. Inside the cabin, it looks similar to the previous model, however it now features four airbags - front and side. The new Cruze is powered by the same 2.0-litre VCDi engine that develops 164bhp and 380Nm of top torque. It is being offered in both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
November 25, 2013: Hyundai, the South Korean carmaker has unveiled the 2014 Elantra saloon at the LA Motor Show. The vehicle retains the same fluidic design philosophy, but it now gets a new set of features and changes. The model now features an all-new front and rear exterior designs, and some interior styling tweaks. It now comes equipped with next-generation navigation, audio technology, a 4.3-inch color touchscreen with integrated rearview camera and others. The new Elantra now has a more elongated front fog lamps and new LED tail lamps. It gets new hill-start assist control, new driver's blind spot mirror, standard blue link and Hyundai assurance connected care. It is also expected that the new model will also make its way to the Indian car market.
15th October 2012 : Ford India didn’t have much of a victory with its Ford Fiesta sedan, but recently , the face-lifted variant of this one was caught on camera during the test run in China. The major highlight that was seen on new Ford Fiesta was the grille, which looked much similar to that of Aston Martin. The front bumper has also been enhanced with low setting air dam. The black plastic enclosures for the fog lamps also looked new. Headlamps were not tweaked much, but the rear was been in heavy camouflage. So we can expect many changes on the rear end. Apparently, the interiors are also not changed. Talking about the engine, Ford might add on their 1.0 litre of EcoBoost petrol engine to the engine options. Because of a heavy price tag, Fiesta might have not done well in the country, but if this Ford Fiesta Facelift comes up in India and be priced competitively, this will definitely boost up the sales for Ford India and get Fiesta some more recognition.
November 22, 2013: India's leading car-maker, Tata has launched the CNG version of Indigo in the Indian car market. It has been priced at Rs. 4.99 lakh for the entry level GLS model and Rs. 5.27 lakh for the GLX model. The petrol-CNG engine of the car is capable of developing 65bhp of top power and returns an amazing fuel efficiency figure of 24.6km/kg. It also offers an additional range of up to 230km in CNG over 650km in petrol. The vehicle comes equipped with a new advanced F-Shift gear box and new Duo Float suspension. The Indigo emax has been introduced in 6 cities across India and will now be available in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.
May 27, 2013: Japanese Auto Major Toyota has now announced a recall for its flagship sedan Altis' diesel version in India. The recall is for all the Corolla Altis diesel models developed between August 3, 2012 and February 14, 2013. According to the company, the Altis manufactured between the aforementioned dates have a potential aberration on the left or right side of the driveshaft. So, the company has decided to proactively inspect and repair/replace the drive shafts. This is a precautionary measure to ensure customer satisfaction. And this will happens all for free, so the buyers who bought their Altis between these dates can contact a nearest dealership to get an appointment. The entire process will take around 2 hours.
June 17, 2013: Ahead of launching the much awaited compact SUV EcoSport, Ford India has now introduced a limited edition version of its flagship sedan Classic. Based on the CLXi variant, the limited edition Classic gets new accessories which were previously only available in the top of the line Titanium models. The limited edition Classic is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The bookings for the special edition sedan has already started. The Ford Classic gets a total 7 new features including fog lamps, a chrome-finished grille and garnish for the rear number plate, 14-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler and reverse parking sensor. June 19, 2013: Renault India has now extended its diesel portfolio by launching a new entry-level variant of its flagship sedan Scala , called the Scala RxE. The Scala RxE has been priced at Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) . Despite being an entry level variant , it sports some of the most advanced safety and comfort features such as driver-side airbag, antilock brake system, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, integrated music system, rear cooling vents and anti-pinch power windows, along with the performance and efficiency of the Renault K9K diesel engine.
April 1 2013: In a flurry of big introductions, Maruti Suzuki India has softly launched the new 2013 Maruti Suzuki SX4 facelift in the Indian auto industry. The new SX4 has now received a more better exteriors and interiors along with a better fuel economy, however the company fif not changed the prices. October 19, 2013: Tata Motors, India's leading car maker is all set to launch the next generation Manza CS compact sedan in the country by early 2014. The vehicle is expected to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, where the company will also present the 2014 Indica Vista. The front end of the vehicle is likely to be inspired by the Manza hybrid, which was showcased at the last year's auto show. The notchback gets a more aggressive front, which features a new headlights and bumper with triangular airdams. The new Manza CS will be positioned between the mid-size Manza sedan and Indigo eCs. It will be available in both petrol and diesel engine guise - a 1.2-litre XETA petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Multi-jet diesel engine.
October 30, 2013: Volkswagen has silently introduced the Jetta facelift in the Indian car market. The vehicle is now available in three trim levels and it has been priced at Rs. 13.7 lakh for base model and Rs. 19.43 lakh for the top-of-the line variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Jetta gets cosmetic changes both on the inside and outside. It now features a new xenon headlights with washers, LED daytime running lights, an all-new 16-inch 'Sedona' alloy wheels, dual-zone climatronic AC and a new, bluetooth compatible audio system. The vehicle is powered by the same 122bhp, 1.4-litre TSI petrol and a 140bhp, 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. November 25, 2013: Fiat, the Italian carmaker has launched the limited 'Absolute' Edition of its flagship sedan, Linea in the Indian car market. The vehicle comes with a customised accessory pack free of cost. The Absolute edition gets Touch screen with 3G tablet and smartphone functionality. The tablet offers house-level 3D maps and is equipped with phone functionality, multimedia and bluetooth. The accessory pack includes feature like reverse parking sensor, Contoured Splash guards, Beige colour carpets, door sill with Linea badging, 'Absolute' exterior branding and boot chrome strip. The company is also offering free road side assistance and exchange bonus with the car. Fiat Linea is available in both petrol and diesel versions- a 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre multijet engine.

September 2, 2013: Hindustan Motors has now finally announced the pricing for its newly introduced BS IV compliant Ambassador, named 'Encore'. The Ambassador Encore has been priced at Rs. 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Kolkata) , while the bookings too have started from today. Now with the launch of Encore, HM will be able to sell the product in the 17 Metro cities where BS III complaint cars were banned in April 2010. The major upgrade given to the car is the improvement in 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is now matches to BS IV standards and OBD 2 level. The company has rolled out the product under the no-refusal taxi segment. Buyers in the replacement taxi segment will be given more reduction in the announced price.
23 March, 2013 : The proposed sub-4 meter version of the Mahindra Verito has long been in the news and now finally, renderings of the car have started pouring in. One such rendition has been done by Murruga Designs, giving a clear image of what the Verito compact sedan will probably look like. The render shows the front fascia to remain the same as on the existing Verito, which makes sense as most of the changes will be focused on the rear. The rear end of the render shows the rear tail lights to be placed on the pillars rather than on the boot, which makes it look more like a notchback than a regular compact sedan. To give a rugged look to the car, Mahindra has sported a black roof rail on the car. The Verito compact sedan will be less than 4 meters in length and will therefore be eligible for excise duty benefits, making it cheaper than the existing Verito. The engine option is expected to remain the same as that of the currently existing Verito.
July 25, 2013: Mercedes-Benz India has today launched the E 63 AMG for Rs. 1.29 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi) . Deriving its power from a 5.5-litre V8 engine, it is capable of producing the maximum power output of 557bhp and 720Nm. While the earlier generation E 63 AMG with the 6.2-litre engine was 30-37bhp lesser powerful than the new one. The engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift MCT 7G-Tronic transmission, which transmits power to all four-wheels. The top-speed attained by the new E 63 AMG is 250kmph and it touches the 0-100kmph mark in mere 4.2 seconds.
May 31,2013: Skoda India that has recently discontinued the Fabia hatchback in India, is now planning to launch the Octavia in October, which will replace the Laura brand. Skoda Octavia will also have the company's new logo, which will also be seen in the Skoda Rapid. The new Skoda Octavia will be offered with two engine options- 2.0-litre diesel and 1.8-litre petrol. There are also rumours that Skoda could also use the 1.4-litre petrol turbo powertrain that also does its duty to the Volkswagen Jetta. The new Octavia is based on VW group's new LMQ platform.
31 May, 2012 : Skoda, the Czech auto major is planning to launch a facelift version of Superb sedan. The revamped version of the sedan is based on the sidelines of Skoda Mission L and Vision D concept and the spy pics of the car have been caught in lenses in China. However, the side profiling of the car is spawned on the current version of the Superb sedan available in the market. The front and rear end of the car is going to receive some major tweaks. The headlamps are going to be revamped along with some minor changes in the fog lamps and OVRMs. The grille design is likely to walk its way from the concepts of Mission L and Vision D. The changes at rear end includes reformed tail lamps; they have gone more sharper, edgier and looks akin to the new Audi A6. The LEDs lights are likely to be incorporated in the tail lamps for extra safety and the number plate has rise to the boot lid from the bumper, which has now been provided with reflective stripes. Skoda Superb facelift version is going to drive in the latter half of the next year . Skoda India is also likely to get the treat of this new version.
August 28, 2013: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today launched the much awaited Camry Hybrid in the Indian market at Rs. 29.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Deriving its power from a 2.5-litre Beltless petrol engine with an electric motor, the Camry Hybrid returns an impressive 201bhp. The car also returns a superb 19.16kmpl of mileage, which has been said to be the best in its segment. Volkswagen today launched the Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion TDI in India. The new super luxury sedan is powered with the 2.0 liter diesel engine. The diesel engine can produce a robust 170 bhp of power and an excellent 350 Nm torque. This new sedan is incorporated with fuel saving features like reduced engine idle speed, longer gear ratios, Start-stop technology, Regenerative braking etc. Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion diesel is priced at 20.18 lakhs for the Trendline model, however the Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion Comfortline model is tagged at Rs 23.80 lakhs. On the other hand Volkswagen has priced the Highline model at Rs 25.65 lakhs.

October 23, 2013: Volvo Auto India has finally launched the updated S60 saloon in the Indian car market for Rs. 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). September 25, 2013: The Italian carmaker, Fiat has launched the affordable Linea Classic in the Indian car market for Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Linea Classic is available in both diesel and petrol options. While, the petrol version is powered by the same 1.4-litre mill that develops 88bhp, the diesel model gets a detuned 1.3-litre Multijet engine that churns out 75bhp. Fiat Linea Classic is now available in three variants- a 1.4L Petrol Classic, a 1.3L Multijet Classic and a 1.3L Multijet Classic+. It will compete against the likes of Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Chevrolet Sail, Nissan Sunny, Ford Fiesta Classic and others.
3 April, 2012 : Renault India has launched today the new Renault Fluence E4 D sedan installed with a completely new engine. The new Renault Fluence India priced at Rs 15.20 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) boasts of a new generation Step 2 CRDI diesel engine, the one which will be packed in upcoming SUV Renault Duster.
