Tata Motors sees no urgent need for a Japanese partner

Auto major Tata Motors finds that there is no urgent need of forming a partnership with the automakers of Japan. This opinion was recently expressed by Ravi Kant, Vice Chairman of the company. During the Nikkei Global Management Forum, Kant also commented that the Indian auto major has, right now, got no future plans for acquiring overseas automakers. Kant further added that the present alliances of the company are enough and sufficient for the company. The leading vehicle maker of India, Tata Motors has got around two-third of the market share. It is a part of Tata Group conglomerate. The company also owns the luxury car brand Jaguar and Land Rover.

Tata Motors is constantly moving on the path of progress. Earlier, the company introduced the cheapest car of the world, Tata Nano which showed great sales result. Later on, Tata Motors introduced the first crossover car of India called Tata Aria. There are many more achievements of the company which have together contributed to the success of Tata Motors, making it even a bigger brand equity as it has acquired  the top rank from Reliance Industries. Both Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors have got an evaluation of $ 8.45 billion. The group stands at the top most position when it comes to the valuable corporate brands of India. Among the fifty most valuable corporate brands in India, Tata Motors has won the top most position. Earlier the position was being enjoyed by the Reliance group. Jaguar-Land Rover- Tata Motors saw a growth of one hundred seventy two per cent from $ 3.1 billion during the year 2009.

Tata Motors is also planning to position its model, the new Tata Safari as a global product which will be able to cater to the different geographies. The new Sports Utility Vehicle, the new Tata Safari is expected to be launched in the beginning of next year. This new model of Tata Motors will also be following the EuroNCAP safety crash norms. This EuroNCAP is quite a useful and supportive voluntary system for the vehicle safety rating. The system has been agreed upon in the European Union too.
