The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is a segment, which is slowly gaining importance in the country due to its adaptability on the on and off road conditions. Indian consumers are trying to discover their ambitions deeply embedded in them to trytheir hand on a relatively new SUV segment. The consumers are on a move from practicality in the quest of achieving something more interesting to make their lives worthwhile.

On the contrary, the SUVs fill the bill of being an ideal family car most suitable for larger families going on adventurous drive including the family outings covering the difficult mountain ranges with the ease. The lower fuel economy is a sore factor in an SUV, which is slowly being worked on for better efficiency of late. While 2012 is packed with new sedans and hatchbacks,  SUV segment is more filled with the new and revamped models of the existing SUVs. The premium segment SUVs are expected to dominate the utility vehicle segment offering a wide choice for the upper echelon consumers in India. The Japanese car manufacturer expects to outsell the closest competitors by far endowing a makeover to theToyota Fortuner, with mostly the cosmetic changes. The grille in the front has been worked on a bit giving an edge to the SUV among the other minor changes. The new Toyota Fortuner price is also expected to be a little higher at Rs 22 lakhs.
