Mercedes-Benz India to Launch S500 Coupe & S63 AMG on July 30

Mercedes-Benz India is expanding its S-Class model lineup by launching two more beauties- the S500 Coupe and the mightier S63 AMG on July 30. The S500 Coupe will house a 4.7-liter V8 twin-turbo engine giving an output of 453 bhp at 5,250-5,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 1,800-3,500 rpm. This is the same engine that powers the S500 sedan in India which is manufactured in Force India’s Pune plant.

Difference between the S500 Coupe and S63 AMG Coupe is that the AMG model gets inclusion of AMG branding, larger multi-spoke alloy wheels, aggressive bumpers and a quad-exhaust unit.

The AMG variant S63 is powered by 5.5-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine churning a maximum power output of 585 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission. The AMG model can hit the maximum speed of 250kmph with 0 to 100kmph stint in 4.2 seconds (rear wheel drive) or 3.9 seconds (4MATIC all-wheel drive).

Recently, the automaker introduced couple of new models and locally manufactured variants in country. The three pointed star company launched locally produced GLA SUV from their manufacturing facility in Pune. Before that, the automaker had also launched locally-assembled new C-Class diesel at Rs 37.9 lac with nearly Rs. 2 lac reduction in the overall pricing.

Moreover in March, Mercedes-Benz India also launched the facelifted CLS 250 CDI to its product line-up. Priced at INR 76.5 lac, the car sits in between the E and the S-Class, and will be sold in the country as a CBU (Complete Built Unit).
