April sales figures out; FY-11 starts with a bang

The final sales figure for the month of April 2010 are out and the India automotive industry seems to be in absolutely positive spirit. The industry has achieved good sales across all segments. To be specific, the Passenger vehicles saw a growth of 33.93% clocking a total of 1,82,181 units. The report of automobile industry is under the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The positive graph and escalating sales figures are mainly contributed by the Passenger car segment.

Apart form passenger car segment, the commercial vehicles also saw a growth rate of 64.49% with the net sales of 49,086 units as against 29,842 units last year in the month of April 2009. The segment of three wheelers witnessed a sales increase of 20.41%  when compared to April 2009. The two wheeler segment saw a rise of 22.07% with the total sales of 8,55,670units compared to 7,00,987 units last year. After a dull patch, scooters are back with bang and have recorded sales increase of 52.63%.

Indian automobile industry have been doing pretty well both in domestic market and exports. Over the exports have been growing for the Indian automobile industry. The financial Year 2010 recorded growth of 87.61%, as reported by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Amongst the various segments, it is the segment of Passenger vehicles and Two wheeler segment that have recorded the most healthy growth figures of 28.63% and 96.91% . 132.68% and 202.47% are the impressive sales figures posted by the commercial vehicles and the three wheeler segment. With such positive growth rates across all segments of automobile industry, the financial year 2011 has started on an extremely positive note for the industry.
