The first impression when you get inside the Kwid is that you don't feel this is an entry-level compact car. It feels like a much bigger car. The plastics feel all right. Not great, but better than what you'd expect at this price. It's got features that no other car in the segment offers - a multimedia system with satnav, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, front power windows, on-board trip computer, and a gear shift indicator.
Exterior : SUV kind of looks with a good ground clearance of 180mm, which is very much required for Indian roads.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - Interiors are very cheap with low plastic quality, RXT being 4.44L on the road could have been much better at that cost.
Infotainment is a good move but the system installed has a lag of 2 to 5 secs. No space to keep a 1 ltr bottle inside the cabin.
Lacks acceleration while on 3rd gear, this might be due to SCE technology to keep consistency for fuel economy. The noisy engine which is due to 3 cylinder which is same as GM Beat, Central locking is not synced with the Ignition system.
Space is unlike anything we've seen in this segment. The front seats are pretty comfortable, and at the rear, there's ample leg space, too. The rear seats lack under-thigh support, though. The boot, at 300 litres, is the biggest amongst all small cars. In fact, it's even bigger than the i20's. There are plenty of cubbyholes - you get two glove boxes, big door pockets and enough space in the centre console.
Driven on all kind of roads highway, city with bumper to bumper traffic,Village roads.
City mileage : 15 to 18 Kmpl
Highway: 19 to 21.8 Kmpl with AC on.
Comfort driving, steady steering even above 100Kmph, non-tiring seating for a long drive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : Enigne at the start has too much noise and vibration like a diesel car, pick up is good enough without AC. If AC is switched on the power decreases drastically and the car does not take the weight.
Ride Quality & Handling : Being a small hatchback it's very handy and easy for city drive. The quality of drive is also good enough.
Final Words : If you are looking for mileage then this is not the car. It's not worth a buy. If looks are your concern then you can give a try.
