My First Take on the Ciaz

I have a fairly new acquaintance with the Ciaz, I have done only 1000 km in it. I have driven a Ford Ikon 1.6 NXT for 6 years before buying a Ciaz... Here is my first take on this car. Looks: A good job on the front and sides of the car give you a real rich feel. The rear end though looks good too but is too similar to the City for my liking. Space: This is the best feature in this car. I am a 6'3 burly Surd and I don't generally feel comfortable in most sedan cars, but Ciaz has abundant space. The legroom for the rear passengers is just amazing. Power: I feel it was left slightly underdone on this front. With the 1.4 motor under the hood, I think it could have been mapped better to deliver more power but its a Maruti and it seems the engineers paid more attention to fuel efficiency. Mileage: With just over a 1000 Kms in about 2 tanks full of fuel, I have extracted about 16.78 Kmpl in the city conditions of Noida and Delhi. This is whooping for a car this size. Interiors: The plastic gives a cheap feel to it and is surely an area that needs more attention. Ride Quality: The suspension of this car is marvelous. The ease with which it just floats over bumps and pot holes is one to die for. Though the handling is a little heavy and the steering feels slight dead, especially at high speeds. It took me some getting used to to be able to handle it with press time precision, but it's ok... Once you get used to it you can breathe easy. Infotainment and Features: This has every feature under the hood that you can ask for. The Bluetooth connectivity is pretty easy and fast. The steering mounted volume controls are pretty responsive. The voice commands may require some getting used to. However, the touchscreen is slightly sluggish to respond... You may have to touch twice sometimes thrice for it to respond. The quality of speakers is also just average. Just to sum it up, this car gets a definite thumbs-up if you are a laid back driver like me. It may not give you that sporty push back when you touch the pedal to the metal, but it's wonderful if you are cruising within city limits. It surely gives you great value for money because the features that are available in this price tag are marvelous... All in all, I would surely recommend this car if you are looking for an easy to maintain a family car.
