Hi guys, I too heard it from my friend working in Maruti, A Star will come with automatic avatar!! now i10 will run for money ha ha ha

  • Fernandes |14 Jul,2010 09:31:01 PM

Hi Friends, A Star is going to be launched with automatic transmission. i10 automatic is too costly. I guess Maruti will price the A Star automatic with 50000 rupees more than the normal. Hence, I will go for A Star Automatic.

If maruti is introducing automatic transmission in A-star then it should introduce this in Swift And Swift Dzire also which is mid size car and should introduce in lower or mid models not only in top models.People will like to use this for their comfort in cities like Delhi and all other metro cities where trafic is increasing everyday. Automatic transmission is going to be a must in near future.

The A Star Automatic gets a 4 speed auto gear box combined with the superb K Series 3 cylinder engine. The A Star automatic is a very good Auto gear car for those who aspire to get one in the small car segment. Thanks, CarDekho Team

Maruti A star VXi automatic 1000 cc- Does this come in LPG version in Karnataka? What is the on road price? I need to decide today.

    CarDekho Team |27 Dec,2010 11:57:06 AM

Hi Mr. Kuldeep, We would like to inform you that Maruti A-star does not comes in LPG. The car is available in petrol variants only. You can assemble the LPG kit in the car from outside,i.e. from the Govt. Authorized Centres. Thanks

  • nirav |29 Dec,2010 12:50:53 AM

maruti a star autometic good with petrol, cng or lpg?reply me.

    CarDekho Team |29 Dec,2010 11:53:29 AM

Dear User, We would like to inform you that petrol is the best option as compared to CNG and LPG, because the acceleration and pick up power is more in petrol variant. Maruti A-star can be fuel efficient with CNG or LPG but petrol offers better performance and driving pleasure. Thanks

  • nirav |30 Dec,2010 01:37:59 AM

in autometic which one is the best as a avg, maintnance, and long life. maruti a star or hyunday i10? please reply me as soon as possible. thanks

  • cbm |12 Jan,2011 11:27:48 PM

nice car very comfortable for city drive long drive avg is 16-17kmpl city avg is almost 10-12 kmpl. Comparable to i10 AT in every aspect. Much cheaper than i10. However leg room and boot space are very less. But car is not freely available in market you have to waite alot after booking. I got it after making complain to anytime maruti cust.care.

  • cbmishra |12 Jan,2011 11:35:31 PM

respected cardekho team, can i convert my new a-star auto transmission car into LPG variant after sometime. Will running it with LPG have any impact on engine life and will it be safe in auto transsmission car.

  • Anil Yadav |23 Jan,2011 07:32:35 PM

I am physically challenged and hence Automatic is necessity and not luxury for me. I want to know and request if I can get Swift automatic made on special request from Maruti. I am sure there is a way to get it done if proper channel is followed.. Please suggest... Anil

    cbmishra |12 Feb,2011 12:14:54 AM

dear anil yadav i think i can help you. First and last think in india handicapped persons are helpless for such things, even process of getting central exice duty concession or importing such cars are very difficult. Non of indian autumobile companies, including so called trustworthi indian companies are providing specialised cars for handicapped persons.second thing is that any of the pertol AT car will not give more than 10 kmpl in city, and a max. of14 kmpl in highway. U can get some secondhand diesel AT cars on ebay.in .mail me to- cbmishra2010@yahoo.in with details of ur disability and i will try to help you, as there r so many other options available.

    cb mishra |26 Mar,2011 10:50:26 PM

the car will cost around 4.7-4.8 lakhs after considering all discounts currently providing by company.however it has 2 monts waiting. alteration will cost around 35000/- other expences(depending upon from where u r going to get it modified) Mileage is after 2nd servicing is 12kmpl in city without AC & with AC 10kmpl.

my right leg affected by polio, can i drive maruti a star automatic transmission?please suggest today.

    cb mishra |26 Mar,2011 11:02:30 PM

yes u can drive it but for legal driving u have to get it fitted with Auxillary accelerator paddle and get it registered as INVALID CARRIAGE.after regestering it as invalid carriage legaly the car can not be driven by normal person(See Section 2 (18) corresponds to section 2 (10) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939.). also remember u can drive it with only right leg in cross leg position but but it is not legal. cost of modification is around 4400 plus other expences(car is to be sent to mumbai for this modification. to mr ferdi) hand controls can also be fitted but it will be expensive(around 50000/- with all expences)

Its unfortunate that company like Maruti doesnt have a automatic transmition car in hatchback. i think Maruti should come up with a cost effective hatchback with automatic transmition, this will increase min 20% sale in its cars...

    cb mishra |15 May,2011 08:59:52 PM

maruti is selling A-STAR automatic, price is on lower side as compared to other cars with same features, mileage is a big problem with AT cars unfortunately there is no diesel hatchback in model.

  • asif |25 May,2011 01:25:33 PM

Maruti A star VXi automatic 1000 cc- Does this come in LPG version in Karnataka? What is the on road price? I need to decide today. There is any one how wants to sell the Maruti A star VXi automatic

    cb mishra |09 Jul,2011 09:28:06 PM

there is no LPG version of A-star AT. external fitment can be done but as it is Autotransmission car with ECM and ECU along with torque converter, success of LPG fittment from outside authorised center is questionable... if u got sucess kindly post here..because all authorised LPG kit fitting agencies has advised me to NOT TO TAKE RISK WITH THIS BEATIFUL CAR.

  • AIi |30 Jun,2011 10:42:49 AM

HELLO... KINDLY ADVISE ME FOR MID CAR AUTOMATIC... IS IT WORTH TO GO FOR ASTAR AUTOMATIC OR i10 AUTOMATIC....CONSIDERING THE COMFORT/VALUE FOR MONEY/INTERNAL SPACE/RIDE COMFORT AND MILEAGE..... THANKS...

    cb mishra |09 Jul,2011 09:21:29 PM

A-star automatic is about 1 lakh cheaper than i-10 automatic. intariors are good, external appearence is good, however boot space and back seat legroom is lesser in a-star. back seat legroom is not comfirtable for a person with hight more than 5'7''. boot space is 135 litres that means it accomodates one stroly and one airbag with one water bottle. mileage is much better than i-10 AT. A-star AT city-12.5kmpl without AC and 10.5 kmpl with AC.. Highway 19 and 18 kmpl respectively. i-10 AT city-10.5kmpl without AC and 8.5 kmpl with AC.. Highway 16 and 14.5 kmpl respectively i own an A-star AT it is very comfirtable for short distance travel(below 50 km daily) but for long distance back seat legroom sucks... One of my friend own an i-10 AT and datas given are after 5000km run including city and highway

  • janeesh |25 Jul,2011 02:35:08 PM

HI thr..., So apart from A star and i-10 thr aint any other automatic transmission options available in India?(for small cars preferably diesel)

    cb mishra |16 Aug,2011 05:57:33 PM

THERE IS NO DIESEL HATCHBACK AUTOTRANSMISSION CAR IN INDIAN MARKET. CHEAPEST DIESEL AUTOTRANSMISSION CAR AVAILABLE ARE VERNA DIESEL AT & SCORPIO M2DI AUTOMATIC EACH AROUND 14,00,000 ON ROAD. Don't go for AT car buy a MT car and go for Modification .Get permission for Modification from Local RTO in prescribed form( form no. BT 34 but not in simple 34 no. form)and go for modification as running cost of AT cars are higher. However driving an AT car is very PLEASENT.

Legally you can drive any Autotransmission car without any modification. you can also drive any manual transsmission car which is fitted with AUTOCLUTCH, but after permission from RTO and medical certificate from CIVIL surgeon/Chief Medical officer of your District.Apart from i10 and A-star there is only i20 AT which is available in hatchback segment. cbmishra2010 |20 Apr,2013 10:44:52 PM

I AM USING A STAR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR IT IS COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE AND INTERIOR IS OK

  • Maneesh |25 Oct,2011 09:38:38 PM

My A-Star AT is about two months old. In the crazy Bangalore traffic, driving an AT is definitely less tiring and less stressful but the mileage is very low. It is about 9.5km/l in first two months - this includes A/C at all times and lot of stop-and-go traffic. Plus, Bangalore is designed around speed breakers so the braking and pickup also reduces mileage. This brings approximate running cost to Rs. 8/km.

    cb mishra |27 Nov,2011 09:18:19 PM

Same here(10.5 kmpl with AC). do u have any idea about fitting CNG LPG kit. if so pls post here or mail to cbmishra2010@yahoo.in

  • Raj Mitra |22 Nov,2011 08:33:21 AM

Bakwaas AT feature on this car. Not that advanced. Got jammed in the middle of road. Insulting.

    cb mishra |27 Nov,2011 09:23:40 PM

Not that much bakwaas for the amount u r paying. Drive in proper way, do not press accelerater paddle hard when u r starting from halt, keep gear knob in D position in city. definatly u get better results.
