Pros : Fantastic Exteriors, Amazingly Comfortable, Good Engine

Cons : Nothing as such, Mileage can be improved though

Being a passionate SUV enthusiast, I was very happy when I heard that several SUV’s will be launched this year. But as I had no time on hand and had to purchase a vehicle immediately. The search led me to a Mahindra India outlet, as this company is quite renowned in manufacturing SUV’s in the country. It was instant magnetism that pulled me towards the brilliant Mahindra XUV 500, as soon as I entered their showroom. This SUV is designed so stylishly with wonderful exteriors and amazing comfort inside with a powerful engine and a decent mileage. Mahindra XUV 500 from the front looks like a Cheetah while its door handles resemble a paw. It has all the ingredients which I wanted my dream machine to have. The ground clearance is good with smart alloy wheels and a smooth and lustrous finish overall. The insides are extremely comfortable with plush seats and classy features. Taking it for a ride was an awesome experience; with the all wheel drive mode, the drive was exceedingly pleasurable. This SUV can go up to a top speed of 185 Kmph and has a very good pickup. The people at the outlet told me that Mahindra XUV 500 will certainly give around 12 to 14 Kmpl on any road conditions. What else can you expect from such a powerfully built SUV and I was quite ok with the mileage as well. What I really liked in this SUV is the 6-inch touchscreen display on the central console and the great audio system. Apart from these, the air conditioning is also very powerful and cools the cabin very efficiently. On the whole, the Mahindra XUV 500 is really worth every penny spent and I am sure this is the vehicle, which I will buy in the near future.

ITs a good product from Mahindra reletive to their previous product model. No doubts. But there are things that still need attention. There is a list of things they need to see. ITs over priced I think by a couple of lacks and the Hype pushes the pricing further. Its sad but true that I am a user and am regretting my purchase. I hope to sell my XUV soon.

    Harn |15 May,2012 02:46:24 AM

Cheap Plastics and fittings are all seem to be after thoughts. rear shocks are really bumpy for a city drive. last seats are not really much utility. Its not a patch on the Innova from a utility point of view. mahindra have tried to tick all boxes except for the last box of Quality of fittings is poor. Now you might justify the price but even that is not any cheaper anymore. So I am very sorry for Mahindra XUV.

You must be paid to write this article. I had the most horrific experience when I entered the Mohan Motors, Mahindra Dealers for Kolkata. I had to wait 10 minutes before a salesman could attend to me and when he eventually arrived, it was the worst demo one can ever received for a car. The price hike of Rs. 50,000/- and the long waiting periods for an XUV which is definitely not meant for off road driving like its competitors Fortuner and Endeavour. The interior is decorated with cheap Chinese plastics and equipment, the air conditioning is faulty, there are no air conditioning vents on the ceiling like the Fortuner, plus there was no rev and pep in the XUV 500 engine. The handling and suspension is poor as you can feel the slightest jerks and bumps on the road Clearly the company is under producing just 2000 vehicles a month to create a false demand a tactic previously used by Nano which has no takers now. The XUV 500 after the price hike is highly priced for a 2200 cc diesel variant in the segment. After the success of the Renault in F1 racing I would like to wait for the Renault Duster or the Ford Ecosport which have already made it large in the global market and promise to be under Rs.10,00,000/=

    Nash |11 May,2012 07:18:32 AM

From your writing it seems you are paid by the the Toyota. For the faults you found or tried to create by your self, I realy doubt whether you have really ever seen the XUV.You are the biggest paid JERK for creating all the hysteria @ XUV.

    Manoj |14 May,2012 02:45:54 AM

me too accept that Renault Duster is a better product than XUV

    aryan |31 May,2012 01:30:39 PM

renault duster as you say is a better product than XUV??????? to tell you renault doesnt have so many service centres in india. it is only 5 seater where as xuv is 7 seater. average is well above SUV's do u think other cars can give this type of features?

  • SUNNY |09 May,2012 09:34:43 AM

OMFG already a price hike of Rs. 50000 even before the launch. XUV500 has bad exteriors(looks like a cheap XYLO from behind) and cheap chinese interors, poor suspension it cant be used for off roading. Cheap price tag to sell a really poor car. Bad for your status symbol whith its cheap mahindra logo. Car should sell well in third world countries like Kenya, Nairobi, bangladesh, Pakistan , Nepal, India You cant compare with high class Toyota Fortuner or Honda CRV

this is wat i called a paid comments. v ve a common saying in hindi angoor khatte hain.

    AK |06 Sep,2012 11:20:03 AM

mahindra XUV500 is like those cheap chinese phones which provide customers loads of features but the quality of those features is extremely pathetic

  • Amit Sinha |09 May,2012 04:10:08 PM

The features offered by this SUV are currently the best in that price segment. The rear portion of the vehicle is really pathetic as it is slightly modified XYLO. I have been using the vehicle for last 3 months as my 2nd SUV & satisfied with the service & performance. I am a SUV fan & used number of SUVs during the last 18-20 years. thanks

    MoronFinder |12 Sep,2012 11:26:22 AM

You Moron, lying beyond logic that you bot and sold in 2 weeks coz of bad interiors. Were u F**king at the time of buying the vehicle

    Troll |11 Jun,2013 02:01:01 PM

You look like someone who is either gathered every penny he has ever saved to put into a sorry little car or are just hired by M&M to bash anyone who writes against the XUV. I have neither purchased and XUV nor am I interested in purchasing an SUV or a car. So from a neutral stand, the XUV tries too hard to be a permium product at an affordable price tag and hopeless falls short. Hence, the comments on the cheap plastic and interiors. If you can't agree with that, I feel sorry for you!

  • Pan |11 May,2012 10:07:21 AM

I agree with Rajiv on most counts , Poor exterior and much more poorer interriors , the novelty of both will weare out in 6 to 10 months and the centre seats is fixed and not adjustable , hope they will improve and strongly agree that its not worth more than 11 to 12 lacks on road

  • Tanmay Gorani |16 May,2012 07:14:44 PM

Other vehicles should ready to go from market cause of XUV. I like very much this design.

I've driven Toyota's fortuner, Honda's CRV, Mitsubishi Outlander & Pajero.. But.. This SUV is just amazing with a lot more to offer at a cheaper price... I was waiting for this ride for almost 8 months when i booked it last year in September & got it now... U know how they say... Sabar Ka Fal Meethaa Hota hai... Thatz wat exactly happened... All da people who think that its interior sucks.. Well obviously they haven't evn beren inside da car.. they r just judging by looking at da pics.. But.. Now I own this Car.. & I can proudly say.. that.. I own a XUV 500... Time to Ride My Cheetah... Good Bye Haters... Keep Staring & Keep hating... lol

  • padmanabh |26 May,2012 10:01:28 AM

features of xuv are more than price but from utility point of view innova is best mahindra will only increase his sell by reducing its price for top model w8
