Hi, this is latest update on the matter. Now I have driven 4012 kms on my Accent Executive purchased 2 months back. The driving was in all sorts of weather...torrential rains, muddy stretches, undulating roads, potholled roads, nasty gravelled diversions etc. But all I have to say that the car came out like a king....yes..I mean it. Even in muddy roads it did not show any sign of struggle, on steep gradients it moved like breeze. The 1500cc engine negotites gradients in top or 4th gear very easily where other cars (except honda city etc) feel the pinch. Overall I reaffirm the fact that Accent is the best value of money with all you really need in a sedan. Of course there is no end to frills you can get in other cars but at high cost. Yes the mileage was over 16 km/Ltr, including long in-city driving also.

All , I have to say this is the best sedan in this price, In all aspects better than honda city, aveo, verito fiesta, indigo. Trouble free car. I have other cars too , I have driven c class , 3 series BMW, Audi a4 in all engine modes like sports, dynamic , etc.But look at the huge price in India. My accent Executive already 25000kms in 2 years , not a sound in the cabin ,. I have driven it in hilly, mudy, sandy and watery roads, what a beautifull and strong performance. It gives a big car feel , with huge longish bonnet in front. Very simple dashboard with wooden finish like BMW, BENTELY AND MACKBAY, i HAVEN SURPRISED WITH THE EXCELLENT PICK UP , POWEFULL ACC, HIGH TORQUE AND SPACIOUS INTERIORS.wHY SHOULD ANY ONE PAY 9 LAKHS FOR A BRAND NAME CAR IN iNDIA.tHIS IS A PERSONAL VIEW OF MINE NO OFFENCES TO ANY PARTICULAR BRAND

Hello gaurav what an irony my wifes brothers name is also gaurav , As far as mileage is concerned after 1 service 10k.m , after 2 service 12.3 after 3 service 13 locally on highways add 2 plus mentioned above , now on highways i am getting 16.8km locally 12 with a/c. It all depends how u drive , with less acceleration maintaining a rpm between 2 to 4 u will surely get. every two weeks check ur tyre pressures, donot keep unnecessary baggage at boot, all counts. I have a city and xylo too , but accent is accent no doubt of the korean make. thank u all the best for ur progress in lif

Hello Dr Mukherji !! Its nice to see your observations ragarding Accent. My Accent completing now around 3 months of purchase is giving almost similar mileage. In city conditions I am getting 11 km/l and on highways 16 km/l. The second servicing is due next month. On highways I never cross 100 km/h speed mark, and this is easily achieved ar 2500 rpm. Dr Mukherji,in your opinion how would you place Honda City with Accent ? I mean performance, maintenance, mileage and overall experience. I shall be thankful to hear from you about the mater. Thanks

Hi Mayur, I am planning to buy Hyundai accent executive. In today's age where new cars are coming every day, do you still suggest me to buy this ?? -- Thanks VIshwas

    dr.mayur bahan mukherji |26 Jan,2012 04:06:44 PM

yes 100 percent,we have a etios ,my doctor colleges have honda city, civic, i have driven a 3 series and a a 5 series bmw, mercedes c class, but consider the money accent is accent, i have over took bmw 3 series, civic and cruz at 164km/hr from kolkata to asansol, easily.except for abs and airbag accent has all. it depends upon the driver. My accent has a gps, back sensor, portable laptop and dvd charger, jbl sub woofer. what more u need, all this with much less money than rivals . it looks like a bird with soft eyes and a small pair of wings.Pt is simple.smooth, descent andtrouble free, I will keep accent , even if i get other cars. thanks go for it.

Thanks Mayur, I booked Accent executive CNG but after 14 days of booking I was told that the color I chose Hyundai has stopped that. I was also given test drive after asking lot many times, I never saw accent in showrooms, hardly any hyundai showroom executive urged me to buy this. Though I still went ahead and booked that but after 2.5 weeks long wait when I heard that color was stopped, I didn't feel good. All my belief on accent just went away due to hundai's attitude towards it. I thought company Hyundai itself is not interested in going ahead with this car. I cancelled my accent booking. I am buying car for at least 10-15 years ,I wanted car to be good and solid and manufacturing company supporting its car, so I searched-researched again and finally booked Volkswagen VENTO. I just want to say Hyundai the company that either stop accent or sell it with enthusiasm so that buyers happily buy this.

Hi Dr Mukherji, My Accent EX is 11 month old and clodked 7000km. Request your advice on certin poins - 1. Is is advisable to use petrol additives for better efficiency and mileage ? 2. Hae you used Mobil No. 1 in your car ? It is claimed that with Mobil No. 1 the engine performs much much better. 3. According to you what could be the engine lifespan of Accent Executive ? 4. It touches 100km/h at 2500 rpm. I think at this speed (and RPM) the mileage should be optimum ? I shall be thankful to hear from you on this pl. Regards RKS

I too have 11 month old executive, I agree to all his comments. Very good VFM package. I dont want to spend additional 5 laks for city for additional 2-3 kmpl. Better value/performance than the hatchbacks on the same price range & cheaper than the other sedans, but you wont feel cheap inside and while driving. I cannot compare the comfort with any other car, thanks to the soft independent suspension.

Hello RKS, nice to hear from you. 1)DONOT USE ADDITIVES 2)USE SHELL ENGINE OIL 3) upto 2 lakhs no problem 4)Not necessary the mileage depends upon extra load in boot, tyre presuure , no of gearshifts ata vaccant road like highway , but in in any metro it decreases 5)Accent has one of the best engines even today, beauty shockers. donot be camouflaged with other cars extra features like abs , sbs , it is simple, rough andw altouch. my car went 29875, but now also i touch 168km/hr with ease. so enjoy. buy

    RKS |18 Apr,2012 12:00:17 PM

Thanks a lot Dr Mukherji for your valuable insights. Touching 168 km/h speed is great..... I think yours is also petrol car. In fact I raced neck to neck with Honda City and Vento on Indore highway flying at around 130 km/h without strain. In fifth gear Acdent is really enjoyable driving. I shall not use any additive in petrol for my Accent. Regards RKS
