Ace of the CITY

for i VTEC S

Welcome to the Honda owners world. I have arguably one of the best cars around, and should be able to enjoy years of happy and trouble free motoring. As someone put it Honda costs more, but pays you back in far lower cost of normal maintenance. Let me add here that lower maintenance requirements are a bonus. I am talking about by Honda CITY SMT the looks pulled me towards itself and slowly killed the competition with one reason or the other then in 2011. I had even taken a test drive of the Corolla but a 5000 km Diesel one gave me so many vibrations that just after 5 kms I handed the keys back to Toyota guy to drive me till the showroom. I had a Safari then so I was used to vibrations but my only competition then got killed. After Safari and Toyota D experience, didn't put my hand on MM's Maruti would not have provided me the Social locus standi that I was on a look out for. The only negative I had heard was the cooling from personal experience using the car in NCR for the last 5 years, the cooling is just as good although when I was purchasing I had some users non users cribbing about the AC The original player on the S model is just superb with an excellent radio reception - got it as standard fitment. The storage inside the cabin is definitely sufficient with a glove box, one at the arm rest in between front seats and a small box next to the steering. The best storage is under the rear seat, an exception to the car in this category. My S MT gives 17 km/l + on highways and about 13 km/l in the city (with a/c) so you can expect good mileage. About the fog lamps though, they are fragile although OEM, planning to add LED their. Looking out for good options their. Over the years the look feel of the car is the same I love driving it around town but the low ground clearance often reminds me that it is not easy to drive in a country where every road-smith has his own design of a speed breaker for me prevention is better then cure Although I should use this as my second car now, when I test drove the Fortunner, the Value for money concept bit me the second hand ones haven't won my heart either. Ford Chev's are not my cup of tea alongwith Maruti, so waiting for another good one from Honda now or can Toyota spin a better one, lets c how things catch up in the future. Anyway, the car is a treat to drive, low on normal maintenance. has a long shelf life, drives as on Day 1. Drive safe and have fun. Happy driving! ~~Normal Driving refers to normal wear tear maintenance ~~In case of an accident the Air bags worked but the damage came to around 1.75L on the pocket with a portion in insurance but Zero DP doesn't work post 5 years
