Phantom Coupe Review

Rolls-Royce is among the most illustrious car makers in the world, and the company's current line up of models includes the Phantom. Among the variants offered for this car, there is the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe , which comes with a decent list of features. Firstly, the vehicle is powered by a V12 engine that gives it strong performance qualities. It can race from 0 to 100kmph within just 5.8 seconds which is good considering its size. Furthermore, it touches top speeds of about 250kmph. Coming to the car's outfit, it has plush design themes that make it stand apart. The glossy metallic finish, the wide front radiator shell, the large wheels and the body lines together endow it a graceful overall look. It has a length of 5612mm, together with a width of 1987mm and a height of 1598mm. The cabin space is enriched with an assortment of premium materials. The plush seat upholstery, along with the various fine inlays, veneers and other exquisite elements render a luxurious interior atmosphere for the passengers. There are a host of comfort and entertainment facilities as well, starting from an advanced music system to numerous driver aids.

Exteriors:

It has a bulky and masculine exterior design, especially on its front facade, thanks to the signature radiator grille. It has been slightly redesigned, with a reclined position for a more streamlined appearance. The bonnet and the windscreen surround are finished in brushed steel to amplify the elegance of the front. The rectangular headlamp clusters come with LEDs, a day light running bar through the centre, along with dipped and high beam functions at the bottom and top sections. The car's enormous hood accentuates its muscular build. The A-frame windscreen surround further compliments the front facet. Coming to the side, there are perfectly designed wheel fenders along with 21 inch wheels claimed to be the largest ever fitted on any production car. The refined curves and the clean lines further lend flavour to the car's body. The neatly designed door handles blend into the overall picture perfectly. A highlight of the model's design is its rear hinged doors, which give it a distinguished image. Coming to the tail section, the small tail lights and the visible exhaust pipes are notable elements. Beside all of this, the company is offering the vehicle with a range of added options to personalise its look according to the needs of the passengers. The grille is also available with a polished steel surround, further adding elegance to its look.

Interiors:

The cabin space is intelligently designed, ensuring that the passengers are given the best travelling experience. The company prides the model with hand stitched leather work that takes two weeks to complete, consisting of nine hides for the most well toned aura. The seating arrangement enables maximum space and comfort for all of the passengers. The cabin features new three-flute seat designs that come with an increased quantity of stitching to improve rigidity to give occupants both support and comfort. Handrests are present for the front row, making for convenient placement of arms for the driver and co passenger. The interiors are lavished with natural grain leather for the seats as well as other arenas of the cabin, making for a warm environment. High gloss veneers are also present, flowing from the fascia to the rear compartment in one seamless stretch. The steering wheel is attractive, with a thicker rim for enhanced grip. The 8.8 inch control centre display adds a sophisticated touch to the cabin. Beside all of this, there are a variety of personalisation options to further enrich the cabin. Two toned finishes and hand painted five metre coach lines make for enhanced customisation. Personalised monogram embroidery can be added to the headrests, foot-plates and inlays.

Engine and Performance:

The vehicle is armed with a mighty V12 engine, which is conducive for strong performance. The power-plant is composed of 12 cylinders and 48 valves incorporated through the DOHC configuration. The engine has a displacement capacity of 6749cc. Furthermore, it gives a power output of 453bhp at 5350rpm, and a torque of 720Nm at 3500rpm. It delivers a mileage value of 6.8kmpl, which is moderate considering the vehicle's size and performance capacity.

Braking and Handling:

The vehicle has ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear, enabling a good braking quality. Then, it is gifted with the anti lock braking system, which improves control by reducing the danger of locking. Furthermore, there is a stability control function, which adds to the handling quality. Next, a four wheel independent suspension arrangement is present for improved control and safety. The company has modelled it with a stiffer suspension system for increased quality. It comes with a stabiliser bar at the front and rear, which enhances ride quality by minimising road anomalies.

Comfort Features:

For the entertainment needs of the occupants, there is an advanced Infotainment system. This facility comes along with an arrangement of thirteen speakers and two bass speakers, all held within the 16-litre accoustic chamber under the car's floor. There is a monitor as well for a more wholesome experience. A navigation system is also present along with an inbuilt hard drive. A USB and Aux-In offer connectivity with external devices. A folding centre armrest further promotes convenience. The air conditioning system is further aided by vents at the back for improved ventilation, along with an interior air filtration facility.

Safety Features:

Firstly, the company has modelled the machine based on an advanced aluminium structure, providing essential strength to tolerate a certain level of impact. There are airbags at the front, providing shielding for the front row passengers in case of a mishap. Headrests are present at the front and rear as well, offering added protection to the passengers. Seatbelts keep the occupants secure through the drive. An advanced camera system is present, which provides an all rounded view of the vehicle for easier and safer parking. Beside all of this, the security of the car is also affirmed with a remote anti theft alarm system and an engine immobiliser.

Pros:

1. Comfortable and luxurious interiors.

2. Power and performance is superior in its class.

Cons:

1. It is a bit hard to drive in traffic conditions.

2. Its price range makes it available only for a few.
