Terrano 2013-2017 XV 110 PS Limited Edition Review
Nissan India has silently introduced an anniversary edition of its SUV model, Terrano in the country's car bazaar. It comes with an exclusive package, which includes features like an Head-up display, side step, roof spoiler, tail entry guard with chrome and sporty decals. However, this package is given to the top end variants only. At the same time, the automaker has rolled out only 450 units, which will be available until the stocks last. The Nissan Terrano XV 110 PS Anniversary Edition is one of those variants, which is available at an attractive price of Rs. 12.83 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This variant has all the features, which are already available in the existing XV trim. The list of features include power windows, keyless entry, an air conditioning unit and a 2-DIN audio system with USB and AUX-In connectivity. However, the main highlight of this anniversary edition is the Head-Up display, which provides information like vehicle speed, time and direction. t also has crucial safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors. Powering this trim is the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with common rail fuel injection technology. It churns out a maximum power of 108.5bhp along with a superior torque output of 248Nm, which is quite good.
Exteriors:
This anniversary edition trim has a motor-sport inspired look owing to its stylish body decals and contrast black roof. Its front facade gets Nissan's signature radiator grille that has perforated mesh and vertically positioned chrome bars. Surrounding this is the large headlight cluster with a dual barrel design, which is equipped with powerful headlamps and turn indicators. The front bumper has an aerodynamic design, which houses a large air dam and a pair of fog lamps. It is also fitted with a protective under-guard, which provides additional protection. The bonnet is now decorated with black stripes, which emphasizes its exclusivity. Furthermore, its roof, external wing mirrors and pillars have been treated with contrast black finish. This trim also gets additional features like side step along with decals on its rear bumper, which gives it a refreshing new look.
Interiors:
The spacious internal cabin of this Nissan Terrano XV 110 PS Anniversary Edition is designed with a dual tone (Black and Beige) color scheme. Its dashboard is equipped with quite a few features like a large glove box, AC vents, an illuminated instrument panel and a 3-spoke steering wheel with multi-functional switches. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats, which are integrated with head restraints. These seats are covered with premium fabric upholstery and provide ample leg space for all occupants. Its chrome accentuated steering wheel and gearshift knob have been wrapped in leather, while it has fabric inserted door trims that gives it a decent look. The manufacturer has equipped this SUV with a lot of utility based aspects like a spacious boot compartment with rear parcel shelf, front map lamps, trunk room lamp, front center roof light with timer, cup holders on front console, seat back pockets and so on. It has an advanced instrument panel, which houses a drive computer including distance to empty, average speed, average fuel consumption, fuel range and tripmeter.
Engine and Performance:
Under the bonnet, this particular variant is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is based on dCi pure drive technology. This 1461cc mill is integrated with four cylinders and sixteen valves using a DOHC based valve configuration . It has the ability of churning out a maximum power of 108.4bhp at 3900rpm in combination with 248Nm of peak torque output at 2250rpm. This motor is cleverly mated with a six speed manual transmission gear box, which sends the engine power to its front wheels. With the help of a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, it can generate a maximum mileage of 19.01 Kmpl on the highways and 16 Kmph in the city traffic conditions.
Braking and Handling:
Its front axle is assembled with an independent McPherson strut, while rear one gets torsion beam axle type of mechanism. Both these axles are further accompanied by coil springs and anti roll bar that helps in keeping the vehicle stable. On the other hand, its front and rear axles are equipped with a set of disc and drum brakes respectively. In addition to these, its braking mechanism is further assisted by ABS along with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist function. It has an electro-hydraulic power assisted steering steering wheel, which supports a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters.
Comfort Features:
It is available with a long list of comfort aspects that gives a pleasurable driving experience to its passengers. It includes an advanced air conditioning unit with pollen filter that helps in cooling the cabin. The driver's seat has height adjustable function along with lumbar support. Apart from these, it is bestowed with adjustable front seat headrests, 12V power socket, rear seat armrest with two cup holders, power steering with tilt function , ticket holder on driver side sun visor and head-up display system, which is one of its notable aspects. For in-car entertainment, it has an integrated 2-Din audio system with CD, MP3 player, AM/FM radio tuner along with four speakers. It also supports USB port, AUX-In and Bluetooth connectivity as well.
Safety Features:
The manufacturer has loaded this Nissan Terrano XV 110 PS Anniversary Edition trim with a lot of safety features that ensures protection of the vehicle and its occupants as well. Some of these include dual front airbags that safeguards its occupants from injury in case of a collision. It has anti-lock braking system in combination with electronic brake force distribution as well as brake assist. The front fog lamps adds to better visibility during foggy climatic conditions, while the engine immobilizer prevents any unauthorized access into the vehicle. All the seats have three point seat belts with retractor along with rear two point central seat belt. The instrument panel alerts the driver by displaying driver seat belt reminder and door ajar warning notifications.
