Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced its young SUV, KUV100 in the market after the successful run of TUV300. With this sub 4-meter vehicle, the manufacturer has now entered the sub compact SUV segment. Besides, it has also brought in the new mFALCON range of engines that delivers good performance on roads. Now, it has also forayed into the ground up petrol space with its new motors. This latest entry has many firsts to its credit and let us further go into the details and find out what it has to offer.

Overview:

Mahindra & Mahindra launched the KUV100 in both diesel and petrol versions that are powered by a new range of mFALCON engines. This particular variant Mahindra KUV100 mFALCON G80 K4 Plus is equipped by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that comes with MPFI technology. It packs in several safety attributes like dual front airbags, engine immobilizer and monocoque construction that helps in protecting the passengers. The machine looks rigid and tough yet carries the style factor as well. Some of the striking elements on the outside include a bold radiator grille, rear spoiler, and pronounced wheel arches which altogether bring it a sporty appeal. Its interiors are decent with ample room for passengers and a few utility based aspects. However, it misses out a lot of interesting features that would have added to the comfort quotient. 

Exterior:

This machine is a combination of both aggressive styling and ruggedness that will lure the onlookers at a first glance itself. Fitted to its flared up wheel arches are a set of 14 in steel rims, which come along with full wheel caps. Interior:

Despite being a sub 4-meter vehicle, it ensures excellent interior space to its occupants. The head and leg room is rather sufficient owing to its huge exterior proportions. A well designed dashboard in the cockpit looks modernistic with some sophisticated elements like the power steering wheel and center console featuring air conditioning unit. Besides, its well cushioned seats offer you enhanced comfort no matter even if you plan long trips. Moreover, it comes with a 243 litre boot compartment, while a few storage spaces like bottle holders, door trim pockets and a glove box are also on the offer. 

Performance:

Powering this machine is a 1.2 litre mFALCON G80 petrol engine that is incorporated with a multi point fuel injection system. It comes with a displacement capacity of 1198cc and generates a maximum power of 82bhp at 5500rpm along with torque of 115Nm between 3500 to 3600rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission gearbox is paired to this mill which transmits power to front wheels. The automaker claims it to return a decent mileage of around 18.15 kmpl on the highways.

Ride & Handling:

Regardless of the kind of roads you take, this machine gives you a comfort filled driving experience because of the efficient suspension system it comes with. This comprise of an independent McPherson strut with dual path mounts on the front axle, while the rear one gets a semi independent twist beam.
