City 2011-2014 V MT Review

Honda City V MT has been through cosmetic changes in the exterior as well as interiors. The arrow shot front shape of the car makes it amazingly aerodynamic, for its segment. A chrome 3-slat front grille holds Honda's emblem. The front bumper has been redesigned to look sportier and so are the rear bumpers. The 2012 Honda City also has turn indicators on ORVMs. It's a pleasant experience to watch the premium beige seats done with high quality fabric. New Blue combination lights light up the graphic meter. Improved modern centre control panel with chrome fittings means a definite upmarket feel. The interiors are spacious as well. As a boon for music-lovers, the Honda City is fitted with an advanced integrated audio panel. The New Honda City V MT comes with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with Brake Assist (BA), dual SRS airbags , pre-tensioner seat belts and G-CON (G-Force Control Technology) body with a high integrity survival zone make sure that the passengers are provided with utmost safety in the car.

Exteriors

The 2012 Honda City V MT has been revamped from all angles. A completely new and enticing look has been given to the Honda City. The addition of a sunroof to the Honda City has taken it further in the list of most desirable cars. The OVRMs elegantly hold the turn indicators. Ample amounts of chrome on the radiator grille that holds Honda badge proudly gives the car an uber-cool feel. The ground clearance is enhanced considerably at 165mm thus giving a higher stance to the car. The new 10-spoke alloy wheels are a first-of-their-kind and look stunning when the car is on the move. A new set of rear combination tail lamps are rendered to the 2012 Honda City sedan, enhancing its style quotient. The bumpers are given a sportier look to fit the arrow shoot design. At the rear, reflectors are placed intelligently below the bumpers. Honda City V MT uses reflector lenses in its headlamps, instead of the more expensive projector type headlamps, which further reduce the overall cost of the car. The dimensions of the new Honda City are 4,440mm in length, a width of 1,695mm and a height of 1,485mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2550mm and the total ground clearance is 165mm. These measurements are standard throughout the range of Honda City but the kerb weight varies accordingly.

The steering can easily be adjusted to the convenience of the driver and is provided with audio controls on it.

The Honda City V MT is equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.5-litre (SOHC), i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum of 116.3bhp at 6600 rpm and 146Nm torque at 4800 rpm. The mighty engine is mated to a synchronized 5-speed manual transmission. The new Honda City offers great acceleration and crosses the mark of 0-100 kmph in just 10 seconds and is able it to achieve a top speed of 170 kmph.The new i-VTEC with EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) technology of Honda City offers high engine performance with increased fuel economy. The company claims a mileage of 17 kmpl on the highways and 13.4 kmpl in the city.

Braking Handling

The disc brakes at the front wheel are larger compared to the older version of Honda City and the new brake master cylinder has been made longer but with a smaller diameter. Drum brakes do their duty at the rear. Honda claims that it allows a more powerful brake booster performance and offers a lower pedal ratio for a more linear brake pedal feel. ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) offers higher safety in case of sudden braking. The Rack and Pinion steering system with power assist makes the drive smooth. McPherson strut with stabiliser and coil spring suspension is used in the front and torsion beam axle with stabiliser and coil spring suspension is used at the rear.

Comfort Features

The cruise control feature has been recently added to the Honda City V MT. The rear seats of Honda City are set a bit higher than its front seats so that all passengers sitting on the rear seat can get a good view out. Under the rear passenger seats of Honda City, a powerful blower is placed with special and advanced compressor along with the under seat ducts.     It was excellent car. Very reliable and comfortable. I drove it all around India. Once did 5000 km in 15 months. Never gave a sign of trouble.
