Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet Review

The Fiat Linea Classic sedan series is the newest model introduced by the Italian auto major in the Indian automobile market. This new sedan model line up is available in Classic and Classic Plus trim that has been priced very aggressively to heat up the competition. Here the Classic Plus trim of this new model is available with a 1.3-litre diesel fuel option that delivers high performance and offers a decent mileage. This Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet trim is offered with some impressive utility based comfort and utility functions that assures a comfortable driving experience for all the occupants. The company has offered this new model in five different color shades including vibrant Oceanic Blue finish option, a subtle Minimal Grey finish option, a charming Tucsan Wine metallic finish, a sparkling Pearl White finis and also a Hip Hop Black metallic finish option. Coming to the engine specifications, it is the same 1.3-litre Multijet diesel motor that is currently doing its duty to the existing variants of Fiat Linea. In comparison to the existing Linea Models, this Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet model comes with less number of features but offers good comfort to all the occupants. By launching this new model in the automobile market, the company aims to target individuals, who look to purchase budget friendly vehicles. This new sedan will now compete with the likes of Chevrolet Sail, Ford Fiesta and several others in the segment.

Exteriors :

This new Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet trim is no different from the existing variants of the Linea sedan. The company borrowed the same body design and exteriors of the existing sedan model that gives the same feel and excitement. This Classic Plus trim is a slightly better variant in comparison to the Classic trim and hence, it received some exciting features outside. Starting with the front facade, this new trim received the same headlight cluster incorporated with dual parabola headlamps and turn indicators on it. In the center, this sedan has received a silver garnished radiator grille, which is further fitted with a stylish company logo in the middle. The front bumper comes in body color and it has been incorporated with a wide air dam and a pair of bright fog lamps. Coming to the side profile, it remains very sleek without much of expressive design on its side. The wheel arches have been molded beautifully and they have been fitted with 14 inch steel wheels with full wheel caps. The outside rear view mirrors and the door handles have been garnished in body color, while the window sills have been coated in black color. Coming to the rear profile, it gets a sleek design boot lid with Fiat logo incorporated on it along with Fiat Classic Plus badging. The rear bumper has also been painted in body color and it houses the place to affix the license plate on it.

Interiors :

Coming to the interior cabin, this new Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet is blessed with a dual tone black and beige color scheme. However, the dashboard has been garnished in black color scheme, while the seats are covered in premium beige fabric upholstery. Inside the cabin there is a three spoke steering wheel designed beautifully and decorated with a company logo on it. The dashboard has been incorporated with several equipments and utility functions including an instrument cluster, a proficient air conditioner unit, a glove box and many more such aspects. The central console comes with cup holders along with a leather wrapped gearshift knob. The leg space in the front row is extremely huge and it assures unparalleled luxury to the occupants. The rear cabin of this sedan too is spacious where at least three passengers will get to experience comfortable seating. The door trims too gets a dual tone look, which will enhance the plushness inside the cabin.

Engine and Performance :

When it comes to the engine and performance, this new Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet trim is blessed with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve based Multijet diesel power plant that comes with a displacement capacity of about 1248cc . This is the same engine that we can find under the hood of Fiat Punto diesel hatchback series. This Multijet diesel engine releases a maximum power of about 75bhp at 4000rpm and yields a peak torque output of about 197Nm at 1750rpm. This engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission gearbox that distributes the engine power to the front wheels and draws a superior performance. According to the company, this model has the ability to produce a minimum mileage of 17.1 Kmpl in the city limit, while producing a maximum 19.5 Kmpl on the highways .

Braking and Handling :

The company has not compromised on the braking and handling aspects of this new model although, this sedan has been introduced with a competitive price tag. This new Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet trim is blessed with a robust braking system that ensures efficient braking when needed. The front wheels of this sedan comes fitted with disc brakes, while the rear wheels have been bestowed with drum brakes. This will enhance the controlling aspects of and provides precise braking. Coming to the suspension system, its front axle is blessed with an Independent wheel type of suspension with Helicoidal Springs that is accompanied by telescopic dampers and stabilizer bars. On the rear axle the company has fitted a Torsion Beam type of suspension system with Helicoidal Springs, which is further assisted by stabilizer bars and telescopic dampers.

Comfort Features :

Coming to the comfort features, this new Fiat Linea Classic Plus 1.3 Multijet trim is offered with some very impressive yet practical features that pays off complete value for money. The dashboard has been bestowed with various set of features including an air conditioner with heater, a stylish instrument cluster with a speedometer and a tachometer, a large storage compartment and several others. This sedan also comes with an hydraulic power assisted steering system, which will further enhance the handling aspects of this car. The seats are covered in premium beige fabric upholstery that compliments the inside cabin. Also there are cup holders offered in the front cabin's central console, which will add to the convenience of passengers.

Safety Features :

The company has not compromised on the safety functions of this diesel trim and blessed with advanced protective functions. This new trim has been offered with innovative features like dual parabola headlights, a fire preventive system, a programmable speed limit buzzer and several other such crucial security features.
