Q7 2006-2020 35 TDI Quattro Premium Review
Audi is a renowned luxury car brand in India, which has several vehicles in their fleet. Audi Q7 is one such sophisticated SUV model that is available with two diesel engine options. The Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro is the entry level variant that comes equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor. It can develop a maximum power of 241.3bhp and yields a mammoth torque output of 550Nm, which is remarkable. This base trim has several advanced features like a 4-zone automatic air conditioner, voice dialogue system and a proficient infotainment unit. It is also equipped with driver information system including a high resolution display featuring trip computer, auto check system and digital speed display. This advanced feature also provides fuel saving tips for adopting economical driving style. This SUV has asserting exteriors and magnificent interiors owing to its signature styling aspects. Its interiors are extremely spacious and can provide comfortable seating for seven passengers. At the same time, it comes with a huge 330-litre luggage comparment that can be extended further by folding the second and third row seats. This vehicle is placed against the likes of BMW X5 and Volvo XC90 in Indian automobile market.
Exteriors:
Coming to its exterior appearance, this vehicle has a modernistic body structure, which is elegantly equipped with eye-catching cosmetics. Its front profile has a signature radiator grille with vertically positioned slats and is further affixed with a stylish company's logo. Surrounding this grille is a radiant headlight cluster that has bi-xenon headlamps along with day time running lights and turn indicators. Its front bumper is in a dual tone look as it comes fitted with a black protective cladding . There are a pair of round shaped fog lamps fitted to the bumper, which amplifies the front profile. This vehicle has a lustrous side profile with masculine wheel arches and expressive body line. The door handles and the ORVM caps are in body color, while its B and C pillars are in a glossy black finish. It also has a set of trendy 6-arm design, 18-inch alloy wheels, which are covered with 255/55 R18 sized terrain capable tubeless radial tyres. Coming to the rear, this vehicle has elegant taillight cluster that comes equipped with futuristic all-LED light setup. Its large windscreen is accompanied by a stylish spoiler, third brake light and a wiper as well. The rear bumper is affixed with a pair of exhaust pipes along with a black colored cladding, which gives it a rugged appeal.
Interiors:
This Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro trim has a plush internal cabin that has premium leather and scratch resistant material. At the same time, there is an option to customize the interiors with three color schemes like Black, Cardamom beige and Paranut Brown . On the other hand, there is a lot of chrome used for central console, inside door handles, AC vent surround and to the steering wheel. The dashboard along with the door panels have been decorated with natural walnut wood inlays, which gives a luxuriant look to the cabin. There is a four spoke leather wrapped steering wheel that is skilfully equipped with multi-functional switches. Its cockpit is fitted with two electrically adjustable seats and are integrated with head restraints. Its second and third rows have foldable bench, which helps to increase the boot volume. By folding the third row seats, the boot capacity can be increased to 775-litres, which can be extended further by folding the second row seats as well.
Engine and Performance:
This luxury SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre, V-Type diesel motor that is incorporated with common rail direct injection system. It has a total of 6-cylinders and 24-valves that displaces 2967cc. This motor can develop a maximum power of 241.3bhp in the range of 3800 to 4400rpm that results in generating 550Nm between just 1750 to 2500rpm. It can deliver a mileage in the range of 9.03 to 12.07 Kmpl depending upon road conditions. At the same time, it is paired with an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission gearbox that works in combination with quattro all wheel drive system to transmit the torque output. This vehicle can achieve a top speed in the range of 215 to 220 Kmph while breaching the 100 kmph mark in just 7.8 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
This vehicle comes with a dual-circuit, diagonal split braking mechanism wherein its front wheels are fitted with 18-inch ventilated disc brakes while the rear ones have 17-inch discs. It is also incorporated with anti lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution and hydraulic brake assist system . In addition to these, there is an electronic stabilization program and traction control with anti-slip regulation, which further augments its handling. On the other hand, this SUV is bestowed with electronically controlled adaptive air suspension including infinite variable damping system on all four wheels. It is also incorporated with rack and pinion based pinion power assisted steering system with speed-dependent control that provides excellent assistance, especially while parking.
Comfort Features:
This Audi Q7 TDI Quattro is the entry level variant and is equipped with several advanced comfort features. It has an advanced driver information system with color display that provides information related to auto check system, vehicle speed and tips to reduce fuel consumption. It also has features like voice dialogue system, storage package, electrically adjustable front seats, front centre armrest, dual sun visors, interior mirror with automatic anti-glare action and energy recovery system. Furthermore, it comes equipped with an advanced infotainment system that features Bluetooth connectivity, MMI radio plus and Audi sound system including music interface.
Safety Features:
This vehicle is built with fully galvanized unitary body construction that includes crumple zones in front and rear areas. Furthermore, there are side impact protection beams in doors and steel panel alloy in B pillars, which reduces the impact caused in case of an accident. This trim has a list of safety features like airbags, tyre pressure monitoring display, and an electronic vehicle immobilization device. Apart from these, there is a warning triangle with first aid kit, seat belt height adjustment, safety steering column and childproof safety locks.
