Volkswagen updates their mass market offering - Polo and Vento quite often compared to their rivals

The updated Volkswagen Polo has been spied on recently and is expected to go on sale shortly. It was right before the Indian Auto Expo that the German automaker introduced the MY16 versions of the Polo and the Vento, with a few additional features. The automaker on periodic intervals has been updating the Vento and the Polo to keep them competitive in their respective segments.

The highlight of this update would be the Vento derived headlights, with LED daytime running lights. VW had showcased the new Vento equipped with twin barrel headlights and LED DRLs at the Auto Expo 2016. Except the new headlamps, the front profile remains unaltered. The side profile and the rear remain unchanged as well. Mechanically, the Polo will remain unaltered and carry forward the 1.5-litre diesel and the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. Both engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, there are a few reports indicating that Volkswagen will update the diesel motor with a new turbocharger., We expect it to be introduced with the updated Polo.

Speaking of the updates from last month, the Polo has received a much-required touchscreen infotainment system with mirror link connectivity - that mirrors your smartphone screen onto the touchscreen unit. Other updates include rain-sensing wipers and auto dimming inside rear view mirror (IRVM).
