Pros & Cons

Pros
Cons

BMW M2
- It offers a powerful 460PS petrol engine with a rear-wheel drivetrain
- Loves being driven quickly though corners
- Brings the thrill and excitement of driving a sports car to an easy to live with package
- M-specific elements inside the cabin
Volvo XC90
- Elegant and timeless design: The XC90’s clean Scandinavian styling still gives it a strong road presence without relying on flashy or aggressive design elements.
- Exceptionally comfortable seats: The front seats are among the best in the segment, offering superb long-distance comfort with excellent ergonomics and support.
- Relaxing luxury experience: Quiet cabin insulation, smooth highway manners and an airy interior make the XC90 feel calming and effortless to live with.
- Genuinely practical 7-seater: Unlike many luxury SUVs, the XC90 offers a genuinely usable third row along with strong luggage-carrying ability.
- Outstanding sound system: The 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system delivers one of the best in-cabin audio experiences available in any luxury car today.
- Excellent safety package: Strong structural safety, Level 2 ADAS and Volvo’s long-standing safety reputation make it especially reassuring for family buyers.

BMW M2
- The rear seats are not too comfortable for passengers with an above-average height
- The manual transmission doesn’t seem to be very smooth
- The clutch pedal requires a lot of force to press using which can be challenging in traffic
Volvo XC90
- Feels dated inside and underneath: Despite the facelift, the XC90 still feels like an older-generation luxury SUV compared to newer rivals.
- Engine lacks effortlessness: The 2-litre four-cylinder petrol feels strained under hard acceleration and lacks the smooth reserve power of rival six-cylinder engines. No hybrid or diesel options either.
- Feature list no longer class-leading: While well-equipped, the XC90 no longer offers the kind of cutting-edge technology or wow-factor features expected at this price.
- Heavy reliance on touchscreen controls: Basic functions being integrated into the touchscreen can feel distracting and less intuitive while driving.
- Ride quality isn’t as plush as expected: The air suspension handles highways well, but low-speed ride comfort over sharp bumps feels firmer than some rivals.
- Wired Apple CarPlay feels outdated: The lack of wireless smartphone connectivity feels unnecessary in a luxury SUV costing over Rs 1 crore.
