Land Rover is a British luxury automobile manufacturer that is known for making luxury four-wheel drive, off-road capable SUVs and is part of Jaguar. The company has been a subsidiary of Tata Motors since 2008. JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) has been building Land Rover cars in India since 2011, at its plant located in Chikhali, near Pune. As of now, there are a total of seven Land Rover cars available in the Indian market, including the Range Rover series, Defender as well as the Discovery range. The carmaker’s portfolio consists of Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover, Discovery Sport, Discovery and Defender. Land Rovers are an extremely popular choice for Bollywood stars in the country as well and tons of celebrities have been seen riding in their Range Rover cars, including some of the biggest names in the industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor etc. Land Rovers have been known for their go-anywhere ability, as well as their opulence.The top three best-selling Land Rover vehicles in the world include Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Discovery Sport. The Land Rover Range Rover has globally been updated for the 2022MY, and the new-gen model of the luxury SUV is expected to arrive in the Indian market some time in 2022. The luxury SUV will likely be offered in five trim levels, namely SE, HSE, Autobiography, First Edition and SV. The Range Rover Sport will likely be updated soon as well, and should draw heavy inspiration from the flagship Range Rover in terms of design. JLR has confirmed that all future Land Rover cars will be based on either one of two platforms - EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) or MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture), with the former being an EV-focused platform. The first Land Rover cars to be based on the EMA architecture will be the next-gen Evoque and Discovery Sport.
