    Volkswagen to source tyres from Apollo

    Apollo Tyres, India's top tyre supplier, is preparing to supply tyres to Germany based leading car maker Volkswagen in Europe as company is planning to expand its operations in overseas markets. According to Mr Neeraj Kanwar , Apollo Tyres Managing Director, the company has recently gone into VW (Volkswagen), supplying tyres for the cars the German car maker Is launching in India and it is in discussion to supply tyres to Volkswagen in Europe,

    Apollo Tyres, India's top tyre supplier, is preparing to supply tyres to Germany based leading car maker Volkswagen in Europe as company is planning to expand its operations in overseas markets.

    According to Mr Neeraj Kanwar , Apollo Tyres Managing Director, the company has recently gone into VW (Volkswagen), supplying tyres for the cars the German car maker Is launching in India and it is in discussion to supply tyres to Volkswagen in Europe,  

    With this, the company is also eying on taking advantage of its recently acquired Dutch firm Vredestein, for supplying tyres to Volkswagen as the Dutch firm is already supplying to VW. Now the company will talk about two brands (Vredestein and Apollo) to VW, said Mr Marc Luyten, Apollo Vredestein Chief Marketing Officer.

    The company is aiming to achieve a global turnover of USD 5 billion by year 2015 and plans to enter in the South Africa and Latin America market. The company will be available only at established retailers. It will not walk the wholesale route, said Mr Onkar S Kanwar Apollo Tyres chairman .
