Tata Motors has finally unveiled the highly anticipated sub 4-meter sedan, Tata Zest. Earlier, codenamed as Falcon 5 or F5 and falling under Tata's Falcon project, It becomes the first sedan in the country to sport a Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

The company has announced that Zest sedan would be available to customers instantly, after the launch. Tata Motors is offering the sedan with both petrol and diesel fuel trims. Being touted as Manza facelift, the car is entirely different from Manza as it has gone under a complete make over. Being based on Tata's X1 platform, Zest comprises of much broader front facade, vertical headlamps, honey combed grille etc. which Manza was lacking. Moreover, the rear portion distinguishes it completely from Manza as it gets integrated boot lid spoiler, resembling to that of Swift DZire.

Inside the cabin, Zest consists of several top-notch comfort and convenience features such as touch screen infotainment system with built in navigation, automatic climatronic air conditioning, power windows with one touch function and power steering.

Tata hasn't left any stone unturned to make it a completely safe vehicle as several top grade safety features like dual front airbags,ABS and EBD find their way in the vehicle.

As aforementioned, the sedan comes in both petrol and diesel fuel trim; hence, Tata's recently introduced, revolutionary 'Revotron 1.2T' Turbocharged Intercooled MPFi motor does its duties to the petrol variants whereas diesel ones are being presented with Fiat's trusted unit MJD also known as Quadrajet.

The petrol mill churns out maximum power output of 83.8bhp at 5000rpm and peak torque performance of 140Nm at 1750-3500rpm. It is coupled with Tata's first Automated Manual transmission. The Quadrajet diesel burner is tuned quite impressively to obtain two different power outputs of 75 bhp and 90 bhp. Diesel variants are coupled with a manual transmission.
