Maruti Kizashi makes its way on 2nd February in India

Maruti Suzuki India the domestic auto market czar has declared that on 2nd February the company will launch its luxury sedan Maruti Kizashi on the Indian shores. It is being highly speculated that the new magnificent savvy looking coupe will come with a price tag of Rs 16 lakh. Maruti is increasing its portfolio by investing in the luxury sedan segment by introducing the most expensive coupe in India. Earlier also Maruti invested in this segment with Maruti Baleno but it did not succeed with the venture. Currently it offers Maruti SX4 which is doing quite well in India.

Maruti Kizashi will be shipped from the parent auto company Suzuki from Japan in India as a completely built unit (CBU). It is also expected that Maruti may start the production of its magnificent looking sedan Maruti Kizashi in India but it solely depends on the demand for the sedan among the Indian buyers.

Maruti Kizashi in India received an overwhelming response when it featured in the last year's Delhi auto expo show in January. The sedan was praised for its looks, technology and advanced features.

The car features Suzuki's 2.4 litre petrol engine which is capable of churning out a top power of 185 hp with the maximum torque of 230 Nm. The petrol engine is mated with a six speed manual transmission. Maruti Kizashi in the international auto market comes in two wheel drive and four wheel drive versions in the international auto markets; however for India it will come in two wheel drive version only.

Maruti Kizashi will pitch against the already established luxury sedans in the Indian auto market such as Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cruze.

Maruti Suzuki India rules the hatchback segment in India by manufacturing varied cars which has brought a revolution in the small car segment. However, the Indian auto giant has been highly criticized for looks of its cars and not venturing in the luxury car segment. But with the launch of the power wagon it will help in shunning its critics. Though the company did not have much luck in the luxury car segment in the past but it seems that the new Maruti Kizashi is here to change the wheel of fortune.
