Force Motors intends to launch new SUV – Force Explorer

Force Motors is planning to introduce a brand new SUV. This new product, Force Explorer, from the company is speculated to serve the urban market. Force Motors, the Pune based company is expecting that the launch of their new Sports Utility Vehicle will do the same for them what Mahindra Scorpio did for the Mahindra & Mahindra. The new Force Explorer will be incorporated with a 2.2 liter oil burner that is likely to produce 220bhp built under the license from Daimler. In this new model of Force Motors, the Lotus Engineering has tuned the ride and handling. The company has spent around Rs. 150 crore for installing an yearly production capacity of 24,000 units at Pithampur. The new Force Explorer will be produced at Pithampur and the company is quite positive looking at the prototype.

Force Motors is a Pune based company which can rightly be called unfashionably vertically integrated chiefly commercial vehicle maker. The company makes its own engines, gear boxes, chassis, axles, etc for its complete range of products. Force Motors is the only supplier of engines for Mercedes Benz India, particularly for its passenger cars. Apart from this, Force Motors, as a component maker also makes nine-speed gear boxes and the cab for its joint venture, MAN Force Trucks.

Few months back, it was time for celebration for the company as Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman, Force Motors was awarded the reputed Commercial Vehicle Man of the Year award by the famous auto magazine. This award ceremony was organized at the ITC Maratha, Mumbai, on March 8, 2010. During this ceremony, many leading commercial vehicle industry players markerd their presence. Apart from this achievement, MAN CLA 31.280 8 x 4 Rigid Truck got the 'HCV Rigid of the Year' award. Many other models of MAN FORCE TRUCKS Pvt. Ltd. were nominated in various categories. Recently an important announcement has been made by the company. This announcement has come from the youthful Prasan Firodia who is the Managing Director of Force Motors. Mr. Prasan Firodia has announced that the company has made a plan for its complete transformation. He further added that the company has planned to invest around Rs 1,000 crore in the coming three years.
