The electric car market is slowly developing, thanks to an increasing number of affordable options from MG and Tata.   • The Tata Nexon EV Prime and Max are available with an average waiting period of around two months. In cities like Chandigarh, Gurugram, and Jaipur, you can have it in around a month. These are the best-selling EVs in India overall with a claimed range of 312km for the Prime and upto 453km for the Max.

  • Even the Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV command an average wait time around 2-3 months. In cities like Mumbai, Jaipur, Thane, and Coimbatore, both the entry-level EVs can be had in under two months. The electric hatchback is more popular of the two and is offered with two battery pack sizes, the larger one claiming a range of up to 315km, same as the Tigor EV.

  • It’s the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV that has the highest waiting period on average of around 3 to 4 months. However, buyers Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru can potentially take delivery in 2 months. It is slightly bigger and zippier than the Nexon EV, and has a claimed range of 456km.

  • The MG ZS EV is readily available in Coimbatore, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Even in other cities on our list, you’ll have to wait only for around a month to get your hands on it. However, it is also the most expensive EV on this list thanks to its premium features, global design and decent powertrain that claims a range of up to 461km.

  • The most affordable EV in India right now, the MG Comet, is making buyers wait for around 1.5-2 months, on an average. Those in Jaipur have the longest delivery time of up to 4 months. The two-door four-seat micro-hatchback claims a range of up to 230 kilometres on a full charge and the tech-rich cabin gives it a premium appeal.
