MY TATA NEXON EXPERIENCE

I have been forced to write my recent experience while buying a TATA NEXON. I had to refuse delivery of my car which I was waiting so eagerly since last three weeks. On Dec 24 2017, I visited Concorde Motors, Shivajiagar, Pune to check out the new TATA NEXON. Although the dealership is not the nearest to my house but I still decided to visit Concorde since I was told that it is owned my TATA and hence, I would get the best experience. When I visited the showroom, I was shown a TATA NEXON XZ+ (TOP VARIANT) which was on display in RED COLOR. My Sales Rep was Mr. Sanket. Since, they were out of brochures, I was explained all the features on the real car. After hearing all the main features, I was interested in the Petrol XZ+ (top model). I was told the RED CAR in the display is what I would get in terms of features. The car had everything like alloy wheels, reverse camera, LCD screen, Rear Arm Rest, Door Side Step etc. I was told I would get "Nothing More Nothing Less". I decided to book the car the same day, The car had a 2 month waiting except the dark grey color, I was offered NO DISCOUNT. We agreed on the deal within 30 minutes with NO DISCOUNT except mud flaps and mats. I also decided to sell my TATA NANO back to Concorde at the price that they had quoted. As the car was in stock, I was told that I can get the car in no time as soon as the RTO paperwork is done. Since that day, all my experience with TATA went from good to bad to worst. Experience 1 I gave the DP (my TATA NANO) on the same day. My Loan was process the next working day and disbursed the day after. Same day, I also paid the remaining 1.9L on Dec 28 through an HDFC cheque. Although I ran from pillar to post to make sure that dealership receives the money in no time, It took more than a week for the dealership to deposit my cheque to the bank effectively delaying the invoicing and hence, the delivery. Honestly, I do not think it is intentional at that time but now I not sure. Experience 2 Mr Sanket disappeared and my case was now being handled by his subordinate Mr Omkar. I had no problem as he too like Sanket sounded very courteous and helpful. I was told on Jan 3, 2018 that there is some RTO delay which will cause an effective delivery delay of almost 20 days. I will not blame Concorde for this but as a result of this I received a call up for delivery on Jan 14th, 2018. I came to the showroom with my wife, mother and brother-in-law. The car was prepared with a marigold garland in the front but frankly they could have used a clean cloth to clean the dirt of it. All the car had was dirt and watermarks on the body and windows. Not being very picky, I decided to ignore this. You may have realize, so far I have been a good customer. My attitude changed as soon as I noticed no Side Step on the car. Remember the "Nothing More Nothing Less" RED CAR in DISPLAY during the booking. It was still parked inside the showroom with a side step. I was suddenly informed that it is an accessory and I have to pay 14K more if I want it. Experience 3 While debating on this with the salesperson. I noticed a big scratch on the bonnet of the car near the decorative ribbon. It was almost 12 inches long. It was not a paint cut but definitely physical. I started looking more carefully, I noticed another big one on the top of the bonnet, one on the front left door, rear left door and one above the right rear tire. I wondered if the car had been parked inside a bushes full of thorns. Or else it has to be a terrible paint job. The sales guy tried to do his best to apply ounces of rubbing liquid and there was no improvement. He offered me a free teflon coating and promised that all the scratches will disappear but insisted I take the delivery immediately. The teflon coating is last only for few months so it is not a permanent solution. At this moment, I have decided to not to trust any body from the dealership anymore. Mr Omkar was apologetic and admitted my concerns and the scratches. His seniors or any management of the dealerships were completely absent. Mr Sanket picked up phone and did not sounded as courteous as he was last month. We ended up the phone call with him saying and I quote "Theek Hai, Mat le jiye delivery (in English - Ok, Don't take delivery)". I refused to take the delivery of the car and gave the salesperson two options. Option 1 Replace the car (NO REPAINT) (new Engine and Chasis Number) with a Side Step Installed at no extra cost within FOUR WORKING DAYS. Option 2 Refund the complete car cost with interest as standard car loan interest rates. I would like to hear your opinion if these two options are reasonable or not. I would also like to hear out alternate solution that can get me a new car with top condition as soon as possible. By writing my experience, I would also like to send a message to TATA MOTORS CAR MARKETING TEAM. By introducing JLR inspired cars like NEXON, HEXA and even the TIAGO, you are trying to move beyond selling white INDICAs. Delivering good customer experience is also part of the transition from INDICA to JLR. Have a nice day!
