Simply No-Nonsense Car !!!!!

My pre-marital car affairs started with Maruti 800... The next one was, Swift...just superb !!... I still get nostalgic about her... When I decided to go for a new car after Swift, I told myself .. now I should stop flirting... should be really serious about the partner....No 'love-at-first-sight' type filmy attitude... No falling prey to only looks and sexy curves... Off-course, she should look beautiful, but from internally too !!!....let me not go by mere face-value ! I really enjoyed the entire process of selecting right car for myself. After going through all the available sources of information about the mid-range car; test drives & reviews, I finally shortlisted 3 cars suited to my budget before falling on to Skoda Rapid... Actually, it was a difficult task as Swift had set some benchmark behind and the new-comer would need to overtake her in all the respects...The journey of shortlisting ended with Vento, Verna and Rapid... Then, I used my own scale of grading for the parameters (in descending order) like 1) the heart of the car i.e. engine; 2) Brand confidence; 3) Driving pleasure/performance ; 4) Build Quality; 5) Aesthetics / looks ... Looking at the sequence of parameters, one may find me little old-fashioned... But, it's a sheer personal choice...it has to be !!.. The overall winner was off-course Rapid..... The selection of a right car resembles with the selection of life partner/spouse in arranged marriages... Somewhere in your heart & mind, it should click... That physical chemistry; sense of confidence should come from within when you have a first look at it ... It happened with me when I looked at Rapid.... And after using (not a good word, actually) it for more than 4 & half years, I still have the same good old feelings for her... In fact, my love for her has been growing...She has never let me down... She may not be ideal? (ideal ?.. it is actually hypothetical or relative term).. As service network is known to be poor (but honestly, did I ever need any service support apart from regular annual servicing ?); no latest features available inside etc? In spite of all these, she proved herself to be a perfect partner for me !!!... By the way, I do not understand why Skoda changed the colour of their logo, that lovely ?Flying Arrow? ? The old one, Green and Black combination, was actually more attractive... In future, I may go for a different brand .... but I really do not have a strong reason why am I going for a new car ?... Because, with annual servicing (1 year or 15000 Km, whichever is earlier), she is not showing any ageing marks on her splendid overall performance !... I am now actually waiting for a strong justification to go for a new car... The real SUV, has always been on my wish list? Yes.. it sounds justifying reason... RAPID is (unfortunately) Sedan and not SUV... But somewhere back of my mind, I will always have a feeling that I cheated my honest partner !!
